Also, the lovability of these bosses just makes me beg for an anthropomorphic dinosaur starring game. Unfortunately, the best we got is Radical Rex, and that one isn't that good.
As an old gamer I have to say that it looks decent but the original one still have even more charisma, better graphics doesn’t mean that the game will be better, even the music needs a lot of work and best of all needs a lot of love 😅
I'll say 'better graphics' is debatable, by the 90ioes it becomes more of a 'art style' honestly, especially with arcade games, and I prefer the art style of the arcade version from back then to the new one. Like, what the heck is with the T-rex faces when it attacks... why do the caveman look like that. I am not saying it looks 'ugly' it just... simply doesn't hold a candle to the original art style, in my opinion.

Completly agree. I recently got to play the original and it was so creative that despite being tiny sprites all the girls came with 6 different hair styles, outfits and colors, .They were kept hidden so It was fun to see what kind of combination you would get . I totally fell for the trick of thinking i won when the girl neon green short hair came out (who turned out to be the devil ) They let that gimmik go to waste in the new version The could have use the same hair model but different lenghts for variety. Or at least keep them off the battle screen ? the girls are just sitting on the corner as the weapons go through their layer is really distracting.
I am a massive Caveman Ninja fan, so I was thrilled when I heard about this remake. I took the time to learn this game. After beating it on "Hardest" difficulty, I was able to appreciate it so much more. And the "extend mode" adds MUCH more content. I like it just as much as Toki remake. Hint: There is a hidden 1-up on every stage!

I understand that the original game is more complex than Toki. Maybe for save time and convince. But then look at Cuphead. Well, not bad... For me the original pixel art is timeless and had aged pretty great.
I don't know if this video just cut it out or what, but after they beat the Titanoboa they jump into its mouth. The final battle is inside of it for unknown reasons.
the lack of sfx on your attacks and even when hitting the enemy bothers me, not even grunting from your character when he throws his weapons. (I'm aware the character is also silent in the og but the lack of audio feedback in this 2022 remake just makes it feel unfinished.)
Thanks I needed to watch Mososaur(multiple fish boss enemies) been trying to learn their patterns but kill me to quick everytime. Every other boss I have down to a science......just loving this game, its absolutely beautiful and just oddly addicting despite being very frustrating at times. I respect the challenge though, the classics were no walk in the park either.. I just wish the game didnt get so much flack, id really like a lost in tropics remake. Bought this physical as well and got a slew of awesome goodies with it. really just loving it tho, pure eye candy and just a blast to play imo, every 90s head should have this in their switch collection
The new mode unfortunately doesn't even bother to expand on the final stages of the game, the SNES reimagining did this with lots of care, and why did they give the Flytrap eyes
Pixel art distorts when upscaled, but hand drawn animation does not. Like upscaling a cartoon on TV. So this hand drawn animation is better. Plus it looks like a cartoon instead of a game.

It was in development hell back in 2009 when it was made by Golgoth Studios, but Mr. Nutz picked it up

I thought the Toki remake was great. My only nitpick was them turning the jade mammoth into a regular mammoth, other than that it rivals the original.

Why is it so... quiet? Where are the hit sound effects? The sound of the arm spinning to charge up? There's things here that are missing.
I think when Bit games are remade they should keep it in pixel graphics but increase the pixel count to make it more detailed.
