I was having a rough morning, still recovering from almost severing two of my left hand fingers off with an electric hedge trimmer. Yes, I have been an avid gardener and organist/pianist for a few decades now, so this was quite traumatic and involved a lot of pain and stitches. This newest video installment by Monica certainly lifted my spirits, put a smile on my face and only reaffirmed what I have heard from her other videos and live performing abilities. There is no other organist on the planet who touches her. Everything from the technical aspects, seemingly impossible registration changes, perfect memory and, most importantly, ultimate musicianship; she is the reigning Empress of the king of instruments. I have heard most of the finest organists in concert over the past 3 decades (and there are many wonderful varying talents out there) and none of them have her accomplishments as an interpreter. It is not only the elating bravura works that she plays perfectly and without any exertion, but the lyricism that she invokes from the most languid and heartfelt intimate portraits given to us by past composers that she plays with the fullest of emotion. This is what a real artist does and I wish to God that more organists would understand the lyric heart. She is the organ world's Martha Argerich and let's all hold on and watch Monica's star rise!

Finally! I heard Ms. Berney perform this live in Los Angeles on 3/13/22 in a wonderfully diverse concert at Disney Hall. If you ever have the chance to hear her perform this live, don't miss it! It's a pulse pounder!
Wonderful Monica 🥰! Your hands and feet are so fast and flexible. Great fifth and wonderful registration of your feet. Your pedalwork makes me breathless 🥰😘.
Wow! Truly the King of Instruments. I once was in a rehearsal where I heard James Levine [before we knew about his misconduct, and despite whatever his personal misdeeds were- I can't say anything negative about his conducting and charm that day and his ability to get and amazing sound out of the orchestra] conduct this with my college orchestra, being in the rehearsal hall with them was like being INSIDE the orchestra instead of sitting in the audience and hearing it from the outside. It was not like a piece of music but more like being INSIDE a living organism! It was so thundering and dramatic you could feel it in your chest, the hairs on my arms were standing up, I was practically in tears... and after the final note, there was this thundering silence. He announced that every single time he's performed this movement, the audience ALWAYS applauds, no matter what, even though it's not the terminal movement. I only wish I could have been in the hall to hear this beautiful organ and masterful performance live. I couldn't imagine even the king of instruments could stand toe to toe with Tchaikovsky's orchestration, but somehow it does under the masterful playing of Ms. Czausz Berney. Fantastic!

I saw my dear friend and former professor Jean Guillou play this on several occasions live, he would have loved your performance.He told me he had made the transcription in a few days, and to my question if he considers it hard to work out(with a smile in my face...;-) , he answered "I worked it a couple of days....
