YT has Total Power -n- Control over their platform..... it's about money & politics of one fashion or another. A big reason I never did anything is b/c they came after me(shadow banned) for my beliefs & for calling things as I saw them. I've never threatened anyone either so I can only assume I hit over target..... I struck some nERVEs !! Scary, ain't it..... you're doing a bang-UP Job !!
I have done pretty well considering I only really started getting views and subscribers in February. I do have a "problem" with running my mouth so I suppose its only a matter of time before someone tells me off lol. Lets see how long it takes.
I'm worrying about doing more youtube shorts to be honest ~ The subs from them come in hard and fast, but the audience that watches shorts have a low attention span. When that audience deigns to watch a long video (like this one) they're more likely to click off within the first minute. A good %watch time for these videos will push the videos to becoming viral. So in other words, I think the subs gained from shorts can actually harm your normal long videos. After youtube sees your video has a low % watch time, it will stop pushing the video, and it will only be found through "youtube search" then. A video like this would never be found from youtube search. I might make a separate channel just for shorts, or stop posting them completely. Looking around online people either do long videos or they do shorts, don't really see many big channels doing both really
Ok so this is sad I know but I've been watching the live update of views and subscribes. What I've found is that after a short that does well Ill go up and down in subs rapidly through out the day. Also some of my older videos will start getting more views in 1s and 2s. I assume people see a short then watch my longer videos and unsub after recoiling in disgust lol. I can see why people wouldn't focus on them, shorts don't really interact with long form content in any meaningful way that I've noticed. I just love winding people up too much. Oh and from what Ive heard cash generation for shorts is also low?
@SloboloboVFR cash from shorts is nonexistent yeah, unless you're raking in 10s of millions of views per month, which is never gonna happen for motorcycle content I think I'm doing a pretty good job winding people up with Longform videos lately 😂😂
Oh, fellow bookworm, the last time I went to a library was the day I was accused (wrongly) of stealing a book, and yes, I'm still angry, I just hope my parents didn't pay it back, which would amount to admitting my guilt. The Queen's accent, every British or French english teacher I've ever had has desperately tried to teach it, without success. And then the American professor arrives, and he doesn't care about the accent.
I used to spend a lot of time in the Library as a kid. The idea of all those books being free to read was mind blowing. Im not even sure when the last time I stepped foot in one was. Maybe when I was a teenager...
