My dad works on Rickys car, has for years. I remember him getting us in & taking us to meet Ric Flair in Kingsport. Just getting to hear Ricky & Ric talk for probably 2mins was amazing. Both are were so nice & just amazing people. They both treated my nephews like they were the ones excited to meet them & not the other way around. Ricky has always been like that whenever I've seen him. Thank you
When was this?I know flair and his boys were n Meadowview convention center at a indy show....and Morton and Flair were both there....flair just did a meet and greet
@@raymondtipton7243 it was at meadowview convention center. Ricky took us backstage to meet Flair during 1 of the matches. We didn't do a meet & greet, nothing like that. He talked to us (mostly my nephews) for a couple mins & took a couple photos with us, that's about it. One of the nicest famous ppl I've ever met.
Nice interview! I got to meet Ricky and Robert at the first Wrestle Cade in Winston Salem a few years ago. They were so humble and friendly. They are truly one of the best tag teams ever. Good stuff man I love to hear stories about the territory days. Keep up the good work guys!
Hello from Evansville IN! Dutch and Ricky, you and the rest of the Memphis crew were a huge part of my Saturday morning routine in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Thanks for the memories and thanks even more for these podcasts letting us re-live those times through your stories!
This was like a holiday gift for me seeing Dutch and James have Ricky Morton of all people on here! My favorite baby-face tag team of all time next to my favorite heel tag team of all time, the Midnight Express of course - these boys re what made tag team wrestling just as cool as the main event with a world champion! Please give us a part 2 James, if you don't mind? Ricky is full of wrestling knowledge, and even more so with incredible road stories! And hearing him talk to Dutch when it comes to road stories...you have no idea how much a treat this is! Two great talents and heroes of wrestling all in one fun filled package!
I really enjoy listening too these road stories.. I was a little too young when Rick was in his prime. I do remember seeing a couple matches of his singles matches as a kid.. But you can really feel how much Ricky really loved and still loves wrestling.. Thanks for this Interview Gentlemen..
I really loved this episode. Hearing Ricky talk about all the guys I remember watching as a kid. Brought back a lot of memories! Thank you Ricky for the stories. We want to hear more. Get well soon Dutch! James keep up the good work!
I remember seeing the rock and roll vs midnight in a high school gym in Bennettsville sc , it was so loud you couldn't hear yourself after the double drop kick, best time ever for wrestling
I loved the interview. I am a big fan of your show and the awesome stories that you guys share. Dutch and Ricky are true old time wrestling characters. Get well Dutch.
So true! When I worked for Dusty in TCW, the heels were in one locker room and faces in another. There was very little communication with your opponent.
Hey Dutch and James. Great show. I'm going to have to admit that I used to wear the colorful bandanas like Ricky Martin and Robert Gibson did when I went to NWA wrestling at the Philadelphia Civic center when I was 13. I actually assaulted the barbarian and Nikita koloff in the back of the building when they were arriving.. I showed up pretty early.. I was a wrestling junkie.. I punched barbarian in the shoulder.. and I almost ripped Nikita koloff jacket off and my buddy that was with me almost ripped Dusty Rhodes jacket off...good times
Dam I would have been more than happy to bring a few cases of beer or whatever a to z lol it would have been a treat for any wrestling fan to hang out with the boys a few hours and party and help you guys keep all the girls smiling
4/25/1986 ( JCP ) Richmond, VA , Ric Flair (c) battled Rock N-Roll Express 'Ricky Morton to a Double Count Out & 5/9/1986:( JCP)Return Match : Ric Flair(c) defeated Rock -N- Rpll Express 'Ricky Morton
I liked the rock and roll express when I was like 13 years old back in 1988 but looking back at those guys I see a blonde little guy with a Rod Stewart hair cut and a dark haired guy with one eye going one way and the other going the other way with thick armpit hair that connected to his chest hair Gross. What the hell did I see in these guys back then
No offense and God bless him but Over the last 25 years I’ve heard many interviews with Ricky and in every one of them he tells the story about how he turned down the NWA title and every time his story has been different lol.
Some kids heros are Superman or Batman, mine were the Rock-'n'-Roll and Midnight Express.
Long live the mullet! Long live the 'stache!
I want to personally thank James and probably Chris for his editing for their work about Tammy. We the People!!!

I agree with Ricky about energy drinks. They're liquid heart attacks.

Love both of Dutch's book, own both of them and actually read them.
This was great. Love Ricky and Dutch, together, a great conversation.

Did Ricky just line some out and hit him a bump? Around 1:38 ish.
All signs indicate that he did lol
Ricky starting to look like Jackie Fargo😂
Dam I would have been more than happy to bring a few cases of beer or whatever a to z lol it would have been a treat for any wrestling fan to hang out with the boys a few hours and party and help you guys keep all the girls smiling

Morton looks like my neighbors grandma.
Why you making fun of the guy?...he ain't dun nothing to you
There's a certain quality that folks from the American south have.
“In our business”
Petrov took barry darsows spot when he played Krusher Krushev before going to WWf
Great stuff
Ricky saying what I've known for years. Cocaine is a PED 😂😂😂😂
The single greatest excuse I've ever heard for doing cocaine is that Monster energy drinks weren't created yet!!
Gettysburg haha
His name is smirnoff
Thank you Dutch and James for the absolute best wrestling podcast in history
I liked the rock and roll express when I was like 13 years old back in 1988 but looking back at those guys I see a blonde little guy with a Rod Stewart hair cut and a dark haired guy with one eye going one way and the other going the other way with thick armpit hair that connected to his chest hair Gross. Oh man... Dutch doesn't really look all too good in this one. Hope he is doing better, James please give us an update if you can
No offense and God bless him but Over the last 25 years I’ve heard many interviews with Ricky and in every one of them he tells the story about how he turned down the NWA title and every time his story has been different lol.
Somebody tell Dutch to quit smoking those stogies right into the camera equipment!
How come Dutch kept interrupting Ricky every time he started to talk? Not like Dutch at all.
Its got something to do with delay in the call
