Welcome to the pilot episode of the podcast I'm starting on my channel! Starring Mr. Bald and Bankrupt himself. The plan for this podcast is for me to upload at least one or two episodes a month, with each episode featuring a new (or returning guest). Hope you enjoy it! Keep in mind that this is my first attempt at podcasting and it might be slightly rough, but I'm obviously going to get better. Make sure to leave feedback and constructive criticism on how I can improve the future episodes. Few notes: you may notice Bald's camera and audio go out of sync ever so often and then come back together, and in rare moments his audio lags for a little bit - that is probably an issue of Bald's Wi-Fi connection at his hotel. I think it's pretty watchable anyway, and most people probably only listen to podcasts like these instead of actually sitting there and looking at our faces. Decided to have minimal to no editing on this, as I feel like our conversation flow was pretty good to begin with.
Your content isn't stagnant, you've shown a lot of variety the past few years. Don't know if you ever get the suggestion but travel with Bald, do some more irls with him. You vlogging is great. Keep it up Russian Jesus.

Ah, working from home! So convenient that you can turn on the TH-camrs and waste time, instead of working. That always happens with people who work from home. Maybe TH-camrs, or that room that needs a clean, or just popping out to do some grocery shopping, or baby sitting, or taking the dog for a walk, etc. If I owned a company, no one would be working from home (other than in emergencies like CoVid when governments get carried away and become dictators).

Hello Ben, I have to tell you that you are a special man as an Englishman, I find it after watching most of your videos. I am much older than you because I have lived in Canada, Ontario for over thirty years and have had the opportunity to meet a lot of British people, which is why I say you have a unique personality. You show tenderness and compassion for human fate, it is clearly visible from your travels around the Soviet countries, and at the same time, you maintain a great serenity and a sense of good humor, which does not show any mockery of their poverty, but rather a compassion. Your videos are also a beautiful history lesson that shows how political systems treat people, using them in a brutal way to achieve their sick ideologies that I hope will awaken this reality in the hearts of many young people. It would be great to meet you in person, I wish you many new adventures, although it is very difficult in these times of darkness and political terror, keep this well-being and your innate serenity. I send you warm greetings from Grimsby Ontario
Bald and Bankrupt gives me hope. When I am 46 years old (23 years from now), it is possible to stay young at heart. Age is quite literally just a number
Dude yeah I totally agree. I often would have fears of getting older and not being able to do the things I can when I’m young, but bald shows that you can do it at any age. Plus, when you’re older, you’re more confident in yourself, less angsty, and generally less depressed and unsure of everything. I’m definitely looking forward to those aspects of being older, as someone who has huge problems with anxiety, social insecurity, depression, etc etc. as I age I’ve gotten less insecure and more sure of myself (even though I still have huge issues) And it’s not like I’m old at all, I’m only 21, but it’s already quite a bit better than being a teenager, in terms of mental health
Life stops at 30 until you reach 30 Life stops at 40 until you reach 40 In reality, life stops when you give up on it. When you don't want to do anything more and you lay down and give up. @Weevil That is great advice. I'm 52 year's old but I don't look it, act like it, or feel like it. Sure, the body is a little run down, bad back, knee's, etc, but my mind is still sharp as a knife. A positive attitude really helps as well.
Indeed. I'm 66. I SUP and canoe rivers, and so do my friends who are all near my age. A few are older and kayak class 3 + water. Thirty years of operating and working a landscape business helped me stay in shape, but also caused some wear and tear on the body. When I travel it is with a backpack the size of a carry-on. I think I have a few trips left! So much of life is attitude. I try.
Thank you for this. I'm 23, I have serious back problems and constant pain which will only get worse with age, it is not easy to shrug off. Comments like your make me want to keep living and achieving things. Thank you!
It's crazy how far Benjamin has come in so little time. He's probably the greatest travel vlogger the internet has ever seen. Might sound exaggerated but I challenge you to find someone producing quality content like Ben.
My 2 cents about 'life' around your 20's. I'm 29 now, almost 30. Dutch. Very broadly interested in everything. In my eyes, most people don't know what to do at this age. Only recently I've started to become more relaxed in the fact that I didn't find my passion. But earning some money to at least live a good life, is in my opinion the most important thing. Anything can become your passion if you're only mildly open minded. Just do anything when it comes to work. You'll know when you don't like it soon enough. Then just quit. And if you do like it, continue. That's all to it mate. Don't overthink passions or future years. You can't predict most of it anyways. Just start anywhere. You'll get there mate. You're smart and open minded.

The chat about what the future holds resonates with me so much. In my 20's I was at Uni and hated it, so I left. Became a Paramedic, travelled the world as a medic for the oil & gas industry, got a family then in an instant last year (I'm 47 now) I became a single parent. I went from a well-paid travelling job, to a full-time single dad to 3 kids. Do whatever you can, when you can because you just don't know when it will come to a halt. Cheers Roman :)
I can't believe this video is 2 hours long and has soooo much substance. I am a third through and I have learned so much about both of you already. It's amazing. I love the podcast format for you Roman. You are a very good interviewer and in a podcast you share just enough and don't interrupt the other person while also telling stories about you relating to the topic. I looooove it. So much.
Your English fluency blows me away. I teach ESL students and I know the difficulties that learners of the language have. You clearly have a gift. I haven’t seen your video on how you learned English but I’m going to find it and hope to pick up some things I can share with my students.
I visited St Petersburg, Moscow, and the trans siberian rail road in 2019 because of Balds videos on Russia. Loved it. Wouldnt have gone without his videos showing me how interesting of a place it really is.
I want to do the trans siberian too, but i feel without russian language it would be a waste. I know bald says it doesnt matter, but it does. I speak japanese now and my trips to japan from before and now are day and night.
Of course, speaking the language helps greatly (and lowers prices in some cases), but russian railroads are rather english-frendly. I would recommend learning cyrillic alphabet for a day or two, ability to read simple signs is useful in itself
@@sodinc Is not about understanding where to go. When you speak the language you become more than some random dude in the background. Heck brah, spraking the language will get you daily beers from the locals if you sprak randomly to some of them.
@@leredditcommander8208 that's exactly what i meant by "helps greatly", but it is not the only way to communicate (espacially now with translators in our phones), so lack of language skills must not stop people travelling. The joy of finding understanding with other people (and lerning each other's languages in the process) is very nice. As far as understand from my relatives in Japan it is harder there, because languages are more different and many Japanese people are somewhat embarrassed to use their imperfect english with foreigners.
I normally never comment, but I’m so happy you started this podcast dude please continue. I’ve been watching you since 2016 and had very similar character growth to you, you’re truly one of my favorite people on TH-cam
honestly i rarely watch youtube podcasts, especially if they're over 30 min long, but one with Roman and Bald? Perfect. Roman I think you have great potential to make podcasts that actually stand out as opposed to the generic YT ones, many of us have been watching you since we were 15/16 and have since grown up with you, many of the questions you ask your guests are ones we have too. Really good shit man

I've enjoyed you both for almost 2 years now and hopefully into the future if you continue on with this. I've learned much! Thank you, ~ with Love & Affection! 😘 Update: Stopped watching to cook and eat dinner, finally finished the podcast video, loved it, and the ending, if you're ever in SW Michigan we must meet and visit! 😜
@@josesousa1059 Well, lots of people, I'm sure; but as I'm a bigger fan of Bald, I'm naturally going to push for that for selfish reasons. Also, I think he serves as an excellent mentor to Roman.
@@christiantorres6640 true, I was just bitching. He could have him as a recurring guest. Imagine he drops 4 podcasts per month and one of those is Bald being Bald and talking about a Soviet pebble he found on the streets of Prague.
He needs to let bald speak a bit more, just as he was getting into some interesting stories he interrupted and bald never finished, probably youthful exuberance on his part lol
Bald! Make a travel show about England. For us foreigners we'd find England fun too! Fish and chips, trying to understand English, rain, driving backwards, etc!
@Ceejay Mac exactly man , I live in London, we rarely have showers, it mainly drizzles on and off, there’s lots of stereotypes that need to be broken down for foreigners, driving backwards was the last straw
@Ceejay Mac I've seen white van man....he most certainly drives backwards and or America style. And since the majority of your country consists of white van men I'd say my original comment holds true. Also, this is why I never want to visit England. Too many angry people. Also too close to Wales. I don't know if I can trust a country named for one animal but clearly showing a different one on the flag.
This is absolutely fantastic, thank you for doing this man. You are spot on with your quote at the beginning when Bald worries about rambling “people love hearing us talk to one another” - we really do!
Roman, next time let your guest finish their sentences. Less you as the interviewer and more from the interviewee makes it more interesting. Some banter is OK, but BB was saying some interesting things but you had the habit of cutting him off and started to talk about your own experience. Just a tip.
Agree with this comment. I listened for about an hour, but finally could take no more. However, interviewing is a skill that requires mastering. I hope you add this to the list of skills you want to develop
The fact you're having a 'crisis' about your future at 23 even though you've already accomplished so much? Means you are creative and sensitive and you have so much going for you. Keep pushing forward.
Bald "so im learning spanish and..." hairy cringe guy "OH YEAH I WANT TO LEARN GERMAN OR SOMETHING IDK I FEEL LIKE GERMAN THIS" Dude could have asked bald why he wants to learn, how is he doing it, hours he is spending, how far has come, when he plans to go back to Latin america, idk, but no, bald had to come himself with some of this.
I think given the fact that he's in his early 20s , he's trying to find his footing and learning how to do long form podcast, i'd say he's doing ok. We'll see how he develops into his new self
You guys are awesome. As Irish man living in the US, I'm now fascinated with Russia 🇷🇺. 11 time zones... unreal. So many different cultures and landscapes. Thanks guys. Legendary
enjoyed the chat. Roman, you have to let your guest speak. Listen to your guests, it's all about your guest. It was kind of frustrating when he mentioned he had married and then you cut him off to make a comment, but when he started talking again he did not mention his family. I would have liked to hear about his marriage etc., You did that a few times. especially at those times, he was really animated in his speaking at those moments. Anyway, it is your first podcast, so good job.
As a fan of Bald and Bankrupt, this video popped up, and it's your first video I watched. Since then I have become a big fan and have been going through all your videos! I'm amazed at how good you've gotten at English as a non-native speaker. I am studying Japanese myself. Would love to collab sometime if you want. Anyway, keep it up with the great content! And, lets get some more long-form podcasts, these are great!
I mean absolutely NO disrespect by this, but I'm amazed how well you adapt to this different genre, especially in long format. Even with your TH-cam experience, it shows other level talent. Although Ben is a very friendly and familiar guest for you. But still, very well done Roman!
I've been a fan of both for a couple of years, and I have had this tab on my computer for over a month. It was so long that I just didn't want to spend two hours watching it. But I woke up and thought that I could just listen to it and it may put me back to sleep. However, it was totally enjoyable, funny, and stimulating, it didn't put me back to sleep. It was certainly worth my time, and at my age time is limited, lol.
Two of the most genuine guys on the internet, Seen all your content, you both deserve so much more than what you have, blessings to you both. great podcast
Yeah I found this really tricky to listen to. So much interrupting Ben before he's finished his sentence. I was just shouting at my scream!! 😂 But great interview though.
After following both you guys for over a year, and as a Brit living in Moscow, I'm going to start making videos walking around places beginning today. I don't have a decent camera, so it'll just be on my phone, but I'll do what I can. After hearing what Bald said at the 7 minute mark this inspired me
Dude. You guys are so right. I've learned more about Russia from you Roman, than I've learned about it in my whole life. We never hear about the real Russia in the west. From the videos you've made, I now have a clearer idea of what Russia is and what it is makes me super interested and I want to visit it now. Thank you Roman for giving us that inside view of your country.
When I started watching both yours and Ben`s videos a few weeks ago it was just out of curiosity. I wasn`t sure that I would watch more that 1-2 videos, but I was so wrong. I love the content on both channels. You always find great topics to talk about, while Ben made so amazing and entertaining trip videos across Russia. After this podcast I like you guys even more.
There is also one interesting thing about the Czech Republic that not that many people moved to another country after the fall of communism compare to all other post communist countries.
WELL it took me three days but hey I made it to the end. What an awesome insightful conversation. Roman you are so lucky to have a wise uncle like Benjamin to question. Always seek the advice of folk who have lived longer and experienced more.
@Multorum Unum Nah, sure it's the camera and the act giving him confidence. And, being in a foreign country. He's still very confident don't get me wrong.
Traveling alone have been some of my most amazing adventures, you're forced to meet cool people in hostels, hiking with new people you've met, you can do as you please everyday, go where you want, change your itinerary at will, you shouldn't be afraid. As an Australian I traveled alone all over Europe when I was 20 (typical Aussie) mostly off the beaten path places in Eastern Europe and The Balkans. This was a fantastic interview always wanted more behind the scenes info about Bald, get him back!
I grew up in Eastern Europe, Slovakia specifically, and Russia was still this sort of nebulous enigma that I really didn't know a whole lot about. It wasn't until people like you and Bald started making detailed in country videos that I really started to understand what life in Russia was really all about. One of my first stops after covid is definitely going to be Russia.
I was 22 when I had my first solo trip to Oktoberfest in Munich and it was epic!! Just do it Roman, I’m sure you won’t regret it no matter where you go
I think you’ve nailed TH-cam. Whatever platform you are on, it all comes down to being interesting to folks… which you are. Well spoken, interesting, and engaging. That’s plenty to support you for life. Good luck!!
Mr. Bald is a good, respectful, patient listener, such a very polite British gentleman. He listens very carefully and kindly waits Roman to finish sentence. He is careful not to interrupt Roman. He doesn't even show the slightest sign of annoyance when being cut off. When he wants to say something, he asks "can I say something?' - wow... “Am I taking up a lot of time...?” Please ramble on, Mr. Bold, everyone here is so keen to listen to your stories - funny, silly, serious, sad, anything. I learn English as well as how to listen/speak politely in English by listening/watching this. Interesting stories, opinions, honest questions/answers - very entertaining:-)🙏 - a viewer from the country where Uniqlo was born 😄.
Watched the whole thing. I love Bald and Bankrupt's channel - NFKRZ - I discovered yours about 3 months ago, I'm now a subscriber. Keep up the good work friend!
Roman this is an awesome show ! I hope you keep on doing it , and bald was an awesome first guest . I have been a big fan of both of yours for a long time now and just want you to know you should keep on doing it. Just great
100% agree, it was frustrating that he kept interjecting and hijacking things when Bald was mid-sentence. Learning to listen and have patience to speak your mind is a life skill that often comes with time though. And if you are going to interject, keep it to a word or 3 that helps the story or clarifies something but is short enough that the guest can carry on right away. Don't stop them with telling your own story.
NFKRZ, Ben is totally like your wise, elder... an uncle really. I'm Ben's age & like him not so far removed from youth that I've forgotten what it was like at 23. You're wise to elicit his counsel. Love both you guys, keep working hard & never forget where you came from or the journey that got you where you are. Take care. Greetings & salutations, from Kentucky, USA. EDIT: Roman, you have a world of amazingness going for you. You're a super-smart, educated Zoomer. Stay grounded, and keep your head on a swivel, figuratively... keep looking around you constantly. You'll find a calling if it hasn't found you yet. In the mean time, keep doing you as you are. Status quo is always good, until one day it isn't. That's what you plan for. Your next move. Be patient my man. Be patient, but never feel secure. That will drive you forward, circumstances be damned.
Sorry to say... This is one of the most fantastic convocation/interview podcast i have ever heard. It helps alot that Bald have so many fun stories to tell but you have som great subjects as well, that is why i think this is great and fantastic.

Can we all take a moment and appreciate that this man is a living legend?
Bald is pretty cool too.

I haven’t seen your video on how you learned English but I’m going to find it and hope to pick up some things I can share with my students.

you guys have such a chemistry.. and traveling alone is the best thing a person can do at least once on their life.

@Ceejay Mac Calm it down, he's just having a jab. I think it's more of an east, west thing with the rain, though.

Roman, next time let your guest finish their sentences. Less you as the interviewer and more from the interviewee makes it more interesting. Exactly, so frustrating. Especially when talking about life experience, have some respect man you're 22 just shuush and listen to your guests story.
Sometimes you gotta sit back and let them tell their story. If you’re going to interrupt it should be a directly related question.
