I finally won on JGM today inquisitor Cal was a menace but I came up with a strat to beat him more consistently w/o taking damage.

You never realized how annoying cal is to fight ontil I had to fight him myself. Like I feel bad for all the stormtroopers that has to deal with my bullshit
Amen he was what was stopping me from winning this challenge till today. I managed to pull it off without taking damage on grandmaster mode. Basically my trick was to stand kinda far away to limit his move-set and predict what attack he was going to do based on what he already did.
It took me a *week* of trial and error before I finally took him down and good Lord was it satisfying to see him fall.
@@unlimitediq1894 I took a page out of this video’s book and relied on Precision Dodge while predicting Inquisitor Cal’s moves so I could slowly chip away at his health.
A real hassle, let me tell you.
meh, NPC Inquisitor's Cal bullshit is multiplied by 100, he has hyper armor (continues to attack despite being hit) on numerous situations, his special split saber attacks are unblockables, his blocking bar regenerates ultra fast and within less than a second of not being reduced by attacks or force powers... he is very resistant to all light side cal's powers...... so much bs, with that said ive killed him multiple times now, always taking damage xD too lazy to try hard enough for a 0 damage run.
What i do chop his heath down is use the Double Sided Saber to wipe down his stamina and when his stamina is very low use the spit saber Cal's First Attack takes out his stamina stunning Dark Cal and his second hits him it brings down a chunk of his heath and knocks him down.
Im pretty sure everyone who played this challenged had said "my powers have double since the last time"

I think people normally forget that when you use the double bladed lightsaber and use the split saber move, it actually does more damage than the single bladed variant. It can actually one shot the tomb guardian if u use pull or push on him. You can also use pull and then quickly saber throw if u wanna guarantee a hit on inquisitor call.

console? or PC? I imagine the game is far easier on PC sword n' board than it is on console. I had to turn the difficulty up midway through the story (played first 3 planets on normal difficulty) because of the power boost when you start getting more abilities to use. I'm still working through the combat challenges (just beating them) on Jedi Master difficulty but it takes hours sometimes days to get it right. I've been working on them for 2 weeks solid now and still haven't finmished the last 2 challenges. I'd be curious to see what peoples experience on console is compared to PC. This game would probably really frustrate me on console.

Well, the guy who put this video up is apparently the lead combat designer for Jedi Fallen Order, as it says so in the About section of his TH-cam page. So if anyone’s mastered the combat, it’s this guy.

Secondly it's not exactly unfeasable that someone plays a game enough to be that good at it. Again, video evidence, you're watching the darn video.
The dude was calling out someone saying it's impossible to party the kick, which, evidently, it is. He's not the one here being unreasonable, it's you and the other guy for not being that good at the game and thinking no one else could be.
I clearly need to master the simple evade. I roll away almost all the time. Looking forward to seeing the other challenges.
A lot of enemies have attacks designed to be unavoidable with roll because of the pause after it, so definitely don’t rely on it so much. Also practice parry a lot more instead of dodging because staggering enemies with that is so effective
@@platypus6810 Not with Inquisitor Cal tho. It was better for me to almost awlays perfect side step so I could a kick and heavy overhead attack after a attack streak.

You have to be standing still to pull off the evade move. Also some moves like the ninth sister's charge attack are unavoidable with the evade so you would have to roll or just use force stasis and lightsaber throw as a countermeasure.
I recently replayed this game because I was feeling nostalgic ever since the obi-wan series. I was playing this challenge just to get a grasp on all the controls before restarting the game. Got to cal and I started laughing so damn hard because that was the first time I really ever witness the AI completely disrespect me in this game. 😂😂😂
Cal stopped, retracted his light sabor and ran his fingers throw his hair, in my mind I thought “HES OPEN!” As I take a swing and then cal just dodges and hits me with a flurry. I start laughing so hard saying “wow that was just utter disrespect I just witnessed from AI” out loud as I’m trying to keep it together in game to get past him. 😂😂

Gotta love the unblockable, undodgeable force pushes by the bosses to prevent you from wiping the floor with them.
You can use pull or push in most of them and continue the wiping
You can “block” it (not parry), and also interrupt pretty much any red attack with a push

I’m close to getting this but the ground pound by evil cal catches me mid animation and messes me up. Getting slowed at close range also sucks cuz then its rng
When he slows you, throw your lightsaber to stagger him and dodge backwards.
Just wanted to thank you for making the combat in this game so engaging and fun.
I just managed to finish this challenge on 3 stars on Jedi Grandmaster difficulty and luckily i recorded this achievement.

5:00 after seeing inquisitor cal pull that move so many times that was satisfying.
Inquisitor Cal is such a wretch. He is us I guess so it makes perfect sense he'd be frustrating. Can only imagine how all those hopeful scout troopers with shock batons felt when their entire platoon was diced by a guy who hasn't even finished his training yet.

Her personality and her mix ups make her a badass to fight becauae whenever she says something I can't help but respond.
I had to slow down some of the exchanges in the last wave to catch all the parrys and dodges. Just a masterful desplay of skill man. Truly amazing

i love how most people play this game differently in terms of how they fight, some prefer force based aggressive attacks while some prefer stunning, some prefer only lightsaber and some play really aggressive whereas others play defensive
I got through the first 3 waves with no damage on my first try, then got hit once by inquisitor cal and had to take a stim. He slowed me and did a dash strike.

@Loks Out Here's a tip with Malicos. Use single sided lightsaber. When you break his guard, hit him twice with normal attacks, then a splitsaber attack. When he falls away, do a lightsaber throw and sprint at him and attack agan. This will break his guard again and chains into itself until you're either out of force or against the arena wall, at which point he'll no longer fall back.

a few general tips:
9th Sister: most of her attacks can be interrupted with a force pull, allowing for a counter attack.
Taron Malicos: Hit him frequently to break his guard to attack, and use lightsaber throw to get a few cheeky hits now and then.
Second Sister: all of her unblockable attacks can be interrupted with a force push with good timing, allowing for a counter attack.
Inquisitor Cal: Stay DEFENSIVE, don’t block as he can break your guard very easily, try to dodge most of his hits for a counter attack every now and then.

This was how the game was meant to look when fighting
I finally fucking won without taking damage. Basically what I did with inquisitor cal was I went on the defensive and stayed far back. Meaning the amount of moves he’d use on you are limited to: lightsaber throw, improved dash strike, and force slow followed up by running at and doing a swing or a dash strike, he also will run at you and jump or not jump. Sometimes you can kick him out of the air but usually not. And usually he fixes his hair if he jumps so lightsaber throw. So basically hug the edge of the arena. Wait for him to attack and if he is close to you at the side of the arena roll to the side as fast as you can because sometimes he will use this as an opportunity to damage you by slowing you and either throwing his saber or dash striking you.
You must have jedi reflexes to pull of a stunt that dangerous

Wow, I had never once considered using Slow on a boss, I feel ashamed now. Could have saved me a whole lot of headache.
But wow, there were times when this looked like a proper lightsaber duel from the movies.
I like this better than the new game because when you hit an enemy they get staggered it's not like that in Jedi survivor when you hit them it's like they aren't even fazed

Christ... I never thought anyone could embarrass Inquistor Cal like that, especially after going through a boss gauntlet. I was able to beat him on GM through the Battle Grid and he still feels insurmountable.

Jesus dude. Like, how. Inquisitor Cal is just a MACHINE. I can cut through the first 3 bosses like a hot knife through butter but Cal is just crazy difficult for me and I'm only on Jedi Master difficulty. He's so ridiculously OP. I dunno how you can be fast enough to attack him and somehow still manage to get out of the way of his insane speed counters, especially since literally nothing seems to stagger him. Parry him multiple times and he just keeps attacking in his same rhythm. I cannot beat the guy at all. But then, I can't do precision dodges. Never been able to time it right at all.. I'm an expert at parrying but I just can't do those dodges. Seems like it needs to be at the absolute last millisecond before the attack connects.
And WOW. I seriously dunno how you block those dualsaber and splitsaber attacks Cal does. Not only are you blocking them, you are parrying a lot of them! I can't ever parry that fast in succession. Even knowing when the attack will connect is a feat with all the spinning the dualsabers do. And even if I do parry, the time it takes to get my defences back up usually allowed (the completed unstaggered by the parry) Inq Cal to merk me with a big attack.
Now this is a goddamn lightsaber battle
If Cal is fighting inquisitor Cal, does that mean he is trying to kill himelf?
