Tough Winter Lambs

We're about a third of the way into lambing season and it's been a good one so far. Around 80 lambs on the ground now including nine bottle babies in the barn. Will do a video on them soon. The weather has turned south again and when that happens I usually end up with more bottle babies. I'm hoping the wind will die down again soon. When lambs are born they are wet, and when the wind hits them it can really hurt their chances of getting up and getting mom's colostrum. Their body temperature can get too low and they'll lay down and won't get back up. Having an experienced and attentive mom helps their chances. I grab the ones I can to warm them up but I don't always catch them all.
