- In this video I break down the process I use to groom a doodle. I hope you find it useful and pick up some tips and if you did please take photos and let me know how you got on!
I would love if you could comment on this video oh Mabel the doodle and if you’d like to see more tutorials.
This can be used on lots of wooly dogs such as cockerpoos, labradoodles, maltipoos, poodles, cavachons and so many more!

If this video helps at all let me know down below! Thanks for watching! Love you all! ❤
As a student this was really helpful, normally in college you get shown how to do one leg and then off i go, so it was really useful being able to take my time and process everything, thank you
I’m so glad you found this useful! Thank you for commenting to let me know, I really appreciate it and will continue to make more ❤️🐾
Beautiful dog!
Isn’t she 😍
Thank you for breaking down the process. I think I have a good idea of where my cuts are going wrong and what I need to change. I'm definitely not combing enough when trying to groom at home and I'm trying to make the legs the same length as the body, when they don't need to be that short. You mentioned that Mabel was very nervous when she started coming to you. What did you do to help calm her? Bribe with treats? She looks like a very chill little girl!
Thanks for watching and commenting, I’m glad the video can help a little. It’s always worth doing everything two or three times to keep it as neat as possible with plenty of brushing up of the coat. Let me know how you get on next time 😁
Believe it or not, no treats. We’ve just developed a bond over time. I always just sit with her on the floor at the start of the groom and go at her pace to keep her comfortable and that way she has learnt to trust me 🙂🐾
@@Snipofdogs I'm not sure if you've ever mentioned it, and totally understand if you want to keep it private, but do you have your own dogs that you groom? I'm sure that changes the dynamic and I'm wondering if there's something I can do to get around their resistance techniques without feeling like a bad mom.
@ yes, I’ve got a working cocker spaniel I groom. I’ve got a couple of videos of her on here which you could take a look at if you’re interested, here’s a link… Dog HOWLING whilst being groomed!!

She doesn’t love the process but she is very well behaved so just stands there. I think you’re right though, some dogs do play up for their owners and are better with other people as they don’t push the boundaries as far. It could be worth doing little bits at a time and space the trim out over the day and keep the environment as calm as possible ❤️🐾
I can tell by the questions you’re asking you’re definitely not a bad mum!
I have an Aussiedoodle and her hair is a little straighter then that doodle Do I still clip her the way you’re doing it? I never let her get knots and I brush her every day I have the clipper set from clipping calves it’s got all the same parts like yours Thanks for showing us ☺️
Oh cool! Love aussiedoodle! I groom a couple! If you want the “teddy bear” look then yes, I would follow this method. However, if you prefer her in a longer trim, as long as you’re keeping her free of knots you could use longer length attachment combs, but still following the process of brushing up the coat and going over the areas again to keep it neat 😊🐕
