Great topic! I've suffered my whole 5 decades of life from motion sickness. I'm so glad to be out of Shell Knob and the Ozarks for that reason. I've been fine on flat ground near Chattanooga for almost 6 yrs and haven't gotten sick. The wrist band works for me- auto, jet travel, flying lessons etc. It stimulates the Median nerve in the wrist and blocks the signal from the inner ear to the stomach. I don't think anything can work for salt water rollers, lol. My Dr friend tells me the Sclapalomine ear patches work real well but I havent tried them. Plan to tho as I've been slowly building an airplane thru the years and I get sick bad in small planes but I really want to fly. I'm fine in a bass boat but have never fished in anything over 3 ft. I saw there's a new drug that blocks the inner ear problem and is revolutionary. I'll need to get some info. Eating helps before the event. There's a nerve in the stomach that connects with the inner ear I believe. I had an old buddy that was on a sub in the Navy and he told me the last thing before deploying is everyone eats a lot.

I've had problems with sea sickness for years. For me I've found taking one Bonnie tablet about 3to 4 hours before getting on the water then I take ginger ale along to drink as well as water. If it starts rocking or getting rough I drink some ginger ale. I also use drops of motioneaze behind my earlobes (it's herbal oils) it's from Alta labs from Elders Florida. I also take some ginger hard candy with me and will suck on a couple every hour or so. Since doing this I still might get query but it's tolerable and I seldom throw up any more. I will take a second dose of Bonine while on the water if it gets to bad. For me the Bonine does not make me as drowsy as Dramamine. I also have tried the patches they work ok but you need a prescription and it's expensive. Hope this helps.

I do the exact method as you and I like the Bonine better also with Dramamine I would get really tired and if I took a second dose on the water some times I would doze off multiple times.

Skip to 6:40 before he actually tells you what to do to avoid seasickness. All he says is to take Dramamine lol

No, he says he tired the wrist band, which worked for friends, but not he, and to focus on a structure on land, and he gave advice I did not know, about taking it the night before along with that day; if your attention span is so low that you can't afford to spend 9mins of your time to make sure you know how to avoid sea sickness, then good luck navigating the rest of your life, because some things take ten years to learn.

Being seasick is like when you get too drunk and get the bedspins. It builds up until you puke and you feel a little better, then it slowly builds up again and again and you can't get off the boat to stop it. I've only had it once, but it sucked.

Bad for me my whole life. Had to tie knots & rig baits quickly and look up so as to not feel crappy in my own boat! Great topic 👍

Thanks for the comments on motion sickness. Fortunately it's never been an issue for me. You should have waited until after Neely Henry to fix your skeg. You may have some issues there as well. Good luck there. It should really fit your style of fishing. I love the Coosa River as it's only 2 hours away from me.

The first time I had seasickness was when I went out to sea for my first time. My boat came out of the water and we were doing angles-and-dangles.

Great topic Randy.... Hey dude, fix that door trim that is popping out on the vertical trim near your key lock. It's driving me crazy looking at that in the videos! :)

Luckily I've never had that feeling. I've never been out to sea or one of those lakes that have those conditions though, but never been car sick and I live in NW Arkansas about an hour from Joplin. I've been on those roads and we have our own here lol

I have gotten worse as I've got older, it's the main reason I stopped Salt Water
Fishing, I was chumming and dry heaving while reeling in a yellowtail, I'm at the point that I can't even do the Star Wars ride at Disneyland anymore, I come out dizzy and feel like hell (my kid and niece thought it was funny). I've tried everything but nothing works for me. Flying is getting bad as well especially when the plane turns. You are right it's pure misery.

Ginger works better than Dramamine as a seasickness preventative. Eat ginger or foods that contain ginger, or they sell ginger root supplements in capsule format.
