A really helpful thing they didn't mention is mint. Minty gum, peppermint oil, mints, air freshener, anything helps! Also, if you're able to, open the car window when you start to feel sick. The fresh air helps relieve it. Lastly, medicine! If you know you're going to spend a whole day at an amusement park or on a long road trip as a passenger, etc. take some Dramamine! It's saved me so many times.
I love open the window in a car it really aliviates my symptoms but then the other passengers ask me to close it because they don't like the flush of air but it really gets worse when they start eating smelly foods 😞
What doesn’t help me is that when I get motion sickness or anyone else near me gets it, I have emetaphobia which is the fear of throwing up or anything to do with throwing up so I get freaked out thinking what if I throw up or someone around me throws up and can start crying, shaking, heart beating fast, overthinking, getting really warm, dizzy, lightheaded, and more. I really sucks but I can’t really do anything about it.
This I can relate with. I’m going to Louisiana for a retreat, and I’m going without my parents which is something new because I always go with them, I am scared I will feel the urge to throw up Infront of someone that’s not my parents which causes anxiety, and anxiety brings the need to throw up which just makes my case even worse! Emetophobia SUCKS
Im only like this on cars and boats, it espcially got to the point where even when I think about cars i feel nauseated, dizzy and the urge to vomit The smell of cars is horrible too so that doesn't help I've been like this for years, it is so annoying and frustrating
I have dealt with that since I was a kid - the only thing that has helped me is taking dramamine 45-60 minutes before the drive/plane/boat ride, or to be the driver. They don't work 100% of the time, but they help a lot. I have tried many, many other methods but I travel a lot and dramamine is wonderful. Boats and ferries are the worst and I try to avoid them at all costs.
Honestly, sea sickness is the worst kind of torture, I work offshore and I get sea sick beyond belief, to the point where I'd rather be dead than go through the feelings of the sickness. It has affected my job immensely and I fail to believe there isn't a permanent cure or vaccine for sea sickness.
Yeah, I've been suffering with motion sickness from when I was a baby. I always had a plastic bag with me in a car or especially on the bus because I knew I would throw up. It always happened when we went on a trip with the school or when we went on vacation with my family. It got somewhat better with years, when I was 20 I was able not to throw up on a 2 hour bus ride although I still got nausea and all the other symptoms listed in the video. All of them. I still get motion sickness on smelly buses or in a car if the road is very curvy. I usually don't experience much motion sickness when I'm driving or if I sleep in a car when I'm the passenger. Or if I have my eyes closed, I don't talk and I don't move. These are the things that help me.
In a car the worse thing a driver can do is to pump the gas. Maintaining a constant speed avoiding sudden stops will decrease the sickness sensation. Scopolamine works well for me. The rest knocks me out too much. All other advertised stuff doesn’t work. Best thing is to avoid the situations .
I can't read or watch phone in moving car/bus/train. Looking outside the window is my way of preventing motion sickness. Some times I doze off and that is when I wake up with motion sickness. Usually anything more than 30mins travelling in bus/car/train I will most likely be hit by motion sickness. Travel by sea is never an option. Tried too many times, I always puke n feel sick for days after sea travel. The most extreme type
Wow... i had higher hopes for real solutions from doctors. Lol. Poor guy, do you really think he hasnt tried all that after 53 years? Goodness, totally hyped the guy for a complete nothing burger of "help". I hope he finds some real relief
Scopolomine patches help me, but my pharmacy hasn't been able to get them in a year or more!!!😡 I take meclizine, but it makes me drowsy. Ginger sometimes helps, too.
No one believes me when I say when I get motion sickness I’m sensitive to things with strong smells like curry, seat leather, cleaning supplies and HAND SANITIZER. For example I felt nauseous in the plane and when the flight attendant came up to me with hand sanitizer and I got a good whiff of it my vomit just came out and I had no control over it 😭
Hi i been having lot of motion sickness a voviting have tryd lot of thing tablets and rist bands cant seem to cure it is there any other way around ? 😣
My motion sickness started about 4-5 years ago. The first time I got it was not that bad at all. But today I even get it from swings. (I like swinging) I never have to throw up but I have to but I have to burp. But it feels like it. At least I am not in the car that long… (Never mind)
My Ohio Aunt Linda and my Ohio cousin Jake yesterday morning left in my Ohio cousin Debbie’s car 🚗 to drive 6 hours to Silver Spring MD for the weekend to visit with my Aunt Mary. My Uncle Louis who lives here in Florida told me that my Aunt Linda and Debbie Both Get car sick so my Uncle Louis told me in his text that my Ohio cousin Jake had to sit in the back seat 💺by himself.” If Debbie and my Aunt Linda couldn’t watch the Road to see where they were going my Uncle Louis told me they would get car sick 😷. So my Uncle Louis told me in his text that It does matter that Jake my Cousin had no Choice but to sit in the back seat 💺. So they had to go in Debbie’s car because she gets car sick if she had to sit in the back seat.

This is the reason why I hate traveling

there is a motion sickness wristband and wearing one ear plug is known to help

This only covers mild motion sickness. Severe motion sickness like what I get can make me go into shock.
Sounds like the same symptoms as migraine headaches. Could anti migraine meds be helpful ?
I've been battling it for years and can't get any relief
Developed all these tricks by experience. They're OK but won't take the problem away.
I have it 24/7. I’m 17. Closing my eyes makes it worse. I tried medicine. It worked but I couldn’t see.
Anybody else get it worse when the inside of the vehicle is too warm?
Wtf is that about???

I had my pockets filled with plastic bags before we headed to church

Dramamine original works best for me. Car, plane, train, water bed, new video games, etc.
