@@cardenas8995 actually many of them were produced till late sixties and even seventies and after that most of them were preserved in special warehouses in lubricant. It was stored there until early 90's, when most of them were sold, because nobody had money in former USSR countries. But some of them managed to stay safe in those warehouses till those days. So it is just like brand new. And you can easily find ammunition for it, because it uses stock 9mm parabellum bullets, which are popular today too.

How do you figure that? It's like me trying to describe America and picking only some criminal and gopnik types. Different people have joined the Rebellion for totally different reasons. And the Rebellion itself is just the tip of the iceberg. Like yesterday I'm watching a perfectly neutral travel blog about my beloved Kharkov and they're showing the former Dzerzhinsky Square and there it is- Petlyura's red and black flag! So they destroyed the statue of Lenin because it was traumatizing them but they don't give a rat's ass that that frigging flag is traumatizing us. End of story.

Im 10 years older and i can really say now that this is the most impressive war-reporting i have ever watched. This series is history-«book» worthy! Largely unbiased, voices from both sides, frontline reporting, background information, filming the horrors of wars. Good job Vice, this is your best series and one of the best by media ever when it comes to war coverage.

That grenade launcher is an AGS-30, production started in 1995, and only used by 5 countries in the world none of which start with a letter "U".
At this point, you can't doubt there's any Russian involvement, but you can't doubt there's not Western involvement as well. Both sides' grunts know that the cease-fire never works, and it's always alternating hands on who is firing into one another's territory breaking the ceasefires. It's a vicious cycle at this point, one side will always retaliate for the actions of the other. Civilians will always die, and both sides will be to blame.
In this war, there's no right or wrong, just whoever you favor - Russia or the EU.

Oh for the love of God, so if a rebel had an M4 or a Polish AK you would say US is arming the rebels or Poland is invading Ukraine? What if they bought some Chinese grenade launchers or Turkish pistols? There are parts of the world, many of them very close to Ukraine, where you can buy just about any common weapon if you have the money, and guess what: WEAPON DEALERS LOOK FOR CONFLICTS WHERE THEY CAN SELL WEAPONS, if you have a war or even a local conflict there are thousands of people from all sorts of different countries that show up ready and willing to sell a large selection of all sorts of stuff ... at an inflated price maybe, but THATS WHAT THEY DO FOR A LIVING.

Rebels do not have these types of weapons because they cannot buy them or use them. It takes a year to learn how to use artillery with any accuracy. And it takes a trained unit to operate. And these "rebels" never run out of shells. These "rebels" never run out of food or fuel. These "rebels" have better logistic skills then fedex. Rebels go home at night, these men never leave. Rebels suffer without food, these men never go hungry. And most of these "rebels" killed or captured were russians on vacation. My point is that i doubt any offensive "rebels" are from Ukraine. I think the real rebels from Ukraine see little to no fighting. I think these well trained fighters we see now are russians who are better supplied than Ukraines National Gaurd are all elite russian forces.

Putin has stated that there's thousands of Russian troops on "vacation" in Ukraine and it's not his problem if they decided to fight for the rebels. Putin needs to man up and stop being a fucking pussy. Just like at the start of this conflict when there were thousands of troops taking over Ukrainian military bases and they were all wearing the same uniform. Once again Putin said they weren't Russian troops. There is also an article that has an instagram of a well known Russian Alpha Group member showing him with weapons in Ukraine. That means there's Russian special forces fighting as well.

The civilians and separatists don't know this, but the shelling of their structures is an attrition technique...
The town is held by separatists. It gets shelled because of their presence.
The civilians are supposed to kick them out...
If you could stop your town from getting swathed by artillery by kicking out squatting vagrants, would you do it?

These areas who are inhabited by majority of russian natives are lost for ukraine.
There is no way that they will rule over this area again. The people who live there are against them.
Even if they retake the area under military control they will still be attacked by separatists from the underground backed by the majority of native russian people.
Russia is not officialy going into the terretory cause it doesnt want an escalation war in whole east europe. And they have no reason to take any territory that is not inhabited by majority of russian people.

3:18, STOP USING SOVIET SYMBOLS you Russian chauvinists. The USSR was not founded as a Russian cultural empire, but as a union of workers councils ( soviets ). Sure it degenerated under Stalin, but the idea behind the USSR was proletarian internationalism, not Russian chauvinism. Just look at the Soviet emblem and you see the words; Proletarians of the World Unite, written in all 14 languages of the former USSR!
The emblem of the so called People's Republic of Donetsk is the czarist eagle and they wave with Russian flags. So their masters are the Kremlin in Moscow. They should not use Soviet symbols. Lenin has nothing to do with your little sectarian conflict with the Ukrainians. He would call on all workers to rise up against Kiev and Moscow. Against the chauvinists who glorify Russia and those nationalist Ukrainians.
Down with the banners of czarism and nationalism. Burn the symbols of the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Long live the true ideals of the Soviet revolution!

you're right except about the part about the ideals of the soviet revolution. they were flawed and retarded. even lenin saw that which is why he chose to reform the system to function more capitalistic early on.

Lol your fucking stupid. The USSR fell for a reason. Obviously a Capitalistic society is the way to go, since most of the western world is capitalist (or somewhat based on Capitalism) and are some of the world powers today. The idea of a communist state will never becomes reality. There will always be greedy people who will take advantage of communism. Communism is a "perfect" world, and there's no such thing as perfect here in Earth. Communism or Marxism will never work. Humanity is too imperfect. The government always abuses it's power. There has never been a successful communist state under the rules of the Communist Manifesto and the ideas of Marxism

Plus they're uber anti-semites (unlike the so called "fascist junta") maybe they don't recall the fact that soviet unions were packed with Jews who in fact were one of the central founder groups of the bolsheviks movement and of what came after.

***** What the fuck. Jewish people were persecuted more than any other religious group in Europe and other places. That's why the state of Israel was formed, to give the Jewish people a homeland, because of the Anti-Semite groups in Europe. Anti-Semite was huge at the time of the creation of Israel, and governments were doing enough about it. The Soviet Union was not created by fucking jews you dumbshit. It was formed after the Russian Revolution which started in 1917, because of the opposition to Russian imperial rule. the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Replublic was declared by Vladimir Lenin and fought a civil war against pro-imperials. The Communists were victorious and formed the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR)
