I bought this brand new in 1988. What a great little synth! I used it with a Yamaha QX-21 two track sequencer. Composed some amazing songs with this little thing. It was not a toy but a small real synth that had MIDI In-Out-Thru just like the professional units. It also had 12 note polyphony, and also functioned as a sound module. I really loved it! Though you could only have 5 custom synth sounds at a time, you could bulk-dump via sysex and have a library of custom sounds. That is what I did! Such fond memories of this unit. Thanks for uploading this.
This keyboard has a catchy demo song! I still have my keyboard from when I was a kid and now my kids play with it! Beautiful to watch. Check out my version of the demo song re-imagined as a jazz big band soundcloud.com/tomb21/demo-time All performed and engineered by myself, 30+ years later. Enjoy!
Hi. I just found the PSS-480 in a kind of shed, missing a battery cover and power adapter (asia 220v). I'm not sure it's working coz' it may have been rained on. Where can you buy an original power adapter (could be 100v or 110v, I'll just glue it to a transformer) and original cover? Thanks. Is this model a toy by the way? Or is it used by professionals, like Roland. God bless, Proverbs 31
The good part is that several manufacturers create clones of these adaptators, so even if you can't find a real PA-40 from Yamaha, you can find a version that's compatible. Amazon has one - www.amazon.com/HQRP-Adapter-Yamaha-Replacement-Listed/dp/B0094FQQYG

So powerful ! I had it in 88 too.
this is the one. i’ve been trying to decide on a classic synth, this one is so versatile sound-wise, i love it.
I had mine in 1989... what a discovery then !
The digital synthesizer on board of the PSS 480 is more powerful than the one on my PSS 390, but both keyboards are great. Amazing presentation bro!
Thank you 😀
The last sounds were fantastic
Thank you Johnny !
Brilliant! Nice demo! I love mine and wouldn't part with it for less than an analog. So many odd things on there!
Thank You ! I've released a new PSS-480 demo today !
Nice demo!
Thank You Julian !
Superb!!!
Thank You Desdepinto !
Amazing sounds broo
How to save a edition of this keyboard please
Hi thank you ! You can save 6 user memories, but sometimes they disappear when you unplug the synth so you'd better write the parameters on a chart
@@adnmusic they should save with a sysex dump. I use sysex base on my iPad to dump from my hardware, but I think midi ox will do it on a pc.
How do you record from this, did you connect it to an interface with a 3/4 cable from the aux or use midi cables?
Hi ! The output is mono full size. It's mainly a headphone output so the internal speakers are off when you plug.

hey bro, what eliminator do you use for your keyboard I have one but I don't know which eliminator to buy
well I'd be glad to answer you but what do you call an eliminator ?
adnmusic Power supply unit AKA battery eliminator
Hey bro, so I found one around my house and I wanted to ask if it can work as a midi operator
I can find you the midi implementation chart if you need
poor man's Prophet VS :)
I should keep it then :D
Indeed :D I have videos about the Strymon BigSky, and my Yamaha Motif XF can be used as a multi-effect, I can plug the PSS480 audio out into it :D

Oh I thought that the digits on the screen and the camera set above the keyboard were enough for you to see the edition step by step, sorry for that !
