Dave Osgood heads over to MCU to see his fully restored 20 Shamrock, for the very first time. Florida Sportsman Boating Editor George LaBonte heads out with Michael Mattson, owner of a classic 20 Seacraft, to discuss how he redesigned the boat from the bottom up. Brian at MCU meets with the owner of a 23 Dorado, who is looking to make some major modifications, that will better suit his lifestyle.

The custom work on the Potter built Seacraft was superb. Modification of the sheer line really showed a great eye for a beautiful result. Not an easy task to improve on the looks of an already classic boat.

The Shamrock came out great. At first I thought the blue was going to be to dark but it works. Wish we could have some performance numbers on it like top speed. Anyway it came out awesome...

According to Mercury’s website that engine has 310 HP! I’m sure that boat is pretty quick!

I love inboard Shamrocks. Fast to plane. Safer to board. Maybe 5-10 mph slower but i like inboards in rough water. They track straighter.

I have an idea for one of your future episodes. I see a lot of the work you are putting into the custom boats, and notice that you have rearranged the floor plans to make larger storage lockers. I would love to see what goes into making the lockers and particularly the hatches with recessed hinges and latches. I am trying to build me a boat and this would be very helpful to learn what goes into doing this. Thanks.

Crate motor is about 5K, Velvet Drive rebuild, $750, Paint and shiny stuff maybe 5k. In other words, Brian is a thief. And he lied about building the console, they are readily available.

That was not 7 years of Florida sun and salt that ruined that bass boat, It was the seven years of neglect from the owner! My boat is 30 years old and I am just redoing it now, and yes my boat sits in saltwater
all summer long!
