Hey Charnie, that was a great video.👌 I enjoyed watching it! 🙌The first set of 4 Bride Stamps was issued in 1980 (the stamp features the rich cultural diversity of Indian weddings with their traditional attire), British India Stamps I have kept based on the Monarch QV to KGVI and the OHMS overprint on KEVII is On Her/His Majesty Service used for official correspondence within government departments. (10:22) The two annas' bluish-green stamp is from Indore (Holkar) State, the portrait shows Maharaja Yeshwant Rao Holkar, and (11:02) the 3 1/2 annas is a victory stamp issued in 1946 to commemorate the Allied victory in World War II (it is a set of 4 stamps). The Hyderabad again is a Victory Commemoration Stamp, (12:40) this is the 1892 "One puttan" stamp issued by Cochin State (I have given you the earliest issues, and all the six Maharaja stamps), Cochin used a different coinage method which is puttan (The Dutch minted the puttan in Cochin, and continued to do so after the Dutch left) and up to 1900 1 Puttan = 5 Pies, 6 Puttans = 5 Annas. From 1900 12 Pies = 1 Anna & 16 Annas = 1 Rupee (sorry Charnie😬, this is a long comment as I am trying to provide you with all the details I can) (13:48) its the 5th Maharaja Ravi Varma of Cochin stamp overprinted with "On CGS" which is On Cochin Government Service. The (16:52) KGVI 3 stamps portray the Mail transports of India, 1) Dak Runner, 2) Dak Bullock Cart & 3) Mail Plane (Armstrong Whitworth AW27 Ensign I) issued in 1937, (18:03) Indore half anna portrait feature Maharaja Tukoji Holkar III, (23:04) the 1/4a imperf stamp is from Bhopal with inscription H.H. Nawab Shah Jahan Begum issued on wove paper. (24:10) yes, you are correct, It is the Taj Mahal 5r stamp issued in 1949 as a part of the Archaeological Series. (26:10) is a QV Revenue Stamp, (32:47) that features the QV 4a Fiscal/Court Fee Stamp and the last stamp (35:20) is a 2r stamp commemorating the Lion and Palm Tree Essay issued in 1977. Thank you again Charnie for this wonderful video and for sharing my TH-cam channel link. Appreciate it, Happy Collecting!!😊

Hi Benjamin, thank you for watching and for your very special, kind comment! At the moment I am identifying the Indian stamps for a next video, but it takes me very long. It is not easy. I don't know Indian stamps, but I like to learn about them. I wish I could see your Indian collection. Have you made a video about it in the past? Maybe you can give me the link and I can watch it. Best wishes!

Holy cow! What a gorgeous collection to be gifted! I'd be over the moon. India stamps are so gorgeous:) O.H.M.S. stands for "on his/her majesty service" usually on correspondence from government departments. Aas far as I know) Love your videos!

Hi Martha! Yes, I will easily jump over the moon with enjoyment to be so privileged to get such a wonderful gift. I treasure it. I agree with you. The more I see of Indian stamps, the more beauty I see in them. They are very special. Thank you for the information about O.H.M.S. You are right again. Joe who gave me the gift replied the same. If you want to, you can read his comment and information (I pinned his comment) about the stamps. Very interesting! I appreciate it so much that you like my videos. Happy collecting! 🙂🙂🙂

@@GreatStampAdventure I forgot to add that your videos make me smile and truly bring me joy every time I see one. The more I learn about stamps, the more I understand history and the more I wish there was a period of time when there wasn't a war somewhere. I never noticed it in Indian stamps. Probably because they were regulated by the British Empire. I'm so bad at history that I need to re-learn what Ghandi was even protesting. He is known world-wide...but I bet one would be hard-pressed to find a handful of "average" people who know or care, these days:/
We all need to learn more about history.

You can imagine how much your comment means to me. I also LOVE to learn about the stamps and the history!!! I know far too little about history of people, and it is wonderful to see the world in more context. I truly love stamp collecting! So, I agree hundred percent with you! Very, very special wishes and greeting from me to you. 💛🙂

Great stamps, Charnie. Joe was very generous.
On HMS means On His/Her Majesty's Service = a stamp for use in government offices (official stamp). Sometimes you also see OHMS. On CGS would be On Cochin Government Service. The Service stamp with the lion statue is also an official stamp.
Doctor Hanson was the person who discovered that leprosy was the result of a bacillus. Leprosy is also called Hanson's disease.

The "One Puttan" stamp (13:04) was issued by the princely state of Cochin (South India) in the 1890s. I've heard these stamps are of immense value. You should get a proper valuation done by an expert when you visit any exhibitions in future.

@@GreatStampAdventure @bennyjoyson8384 Cochin issued its first stamp in 1892 with values of 1/2, 1, and 2 puttans, these are common as it is printed on wove paper with no watermark or with a large umbrella, in this the One puttan imperf between vertical pair is expensive which is SG 2a and are extremely rare to come by, the 1893 1/2 puttan orange/yellow issues are costly as it is printed on Laid paper.
