Thanks so much for the video! I loved it! I wish all the DIY content creators made their videos the way you did. No extended open, no three minute dissertation that adds nothing to the video. Yours was just a lot of good advice, succinct, and well done. Again, thank you!
Great video on texturizing house walls. We had a handyman type ruin our kitchen walls with plaster and then oversanding areas down to the metal....It going to cost us ADDITIONAL money and LOSS time now to fix it. Our kitchen walls were pristine....until he ruined them.
I'm dealing with old plaster and a lot of patchworking so this should cover a lot of the adequate but not so perfect fixes I did. I like the knockdown drag out look, even if that does sound like a battle royale!
It's just called knockdown lol. But if you're trying to cover up some ugly plaster, you could just skim the whole wall with a large blade and regular drywall mud, and then sand down the highspots
Liked your video. You didn't mention how messy these procures are and how floors and so on should be masked off. Also there are spray cans of texture available at the big box stores. Expensive, but if it's a small area, might be worth it. Also Wagner makes an texture gun that doesn't require a air compressor and hopper. It retails under $100, and can be used over and over. Well I could go on, but my last comment is most drywall people charge $1 a square foot to repair, patch, texture a wall or ceiling. They do the cleanup. This might be a better alternative...
I like the knock down look because when its painted with semi gloss paint it look elegant. Textured walls looks good but it depends whats your decor. If your decor is boring modern flat smooth walls are good for you. Texture walls is nice if your house has arches in it.
Wonderful video. We live in France (but not yet totally French speaking :) ) and we had some electrical work on our walls wherein the the electrician had to take some ridges and fill it with plaster which made some parts of the textured wall flat. I had no clue until I saw this video how its done. Let me try.
Thank you for that demonstration! However, the texture that I am trying to do was not one of the seven. The texture looks sort of like bubbles, and I didn't see any of the finished projects that look like that. Bubbles may not be quite accurate, but I can't think of another way to describe it. I wish I had the option of posting a picture.
Thank you for this! I live in a pre-war with horrible walls. Layers of patches of paint jobs are visible. Texturing will hides these. How does a high-gloss paint finish look on a textured wall?
I saw online, some people add silica sand directly into their exterior wall paint can and it is ready to use on the walls after stirring it up really well so the sand does not settle at the bottom. Is it a good idea to do that I mean if I want to give texture to fiber cement walls should I just add some white silica sand directly into the paint and use it and that is it?
A bought a box of the dry powder wall texture from home depot (not the premixed stuff), and I'm wanting to do the monterey finish. Any idea what the ratio of water to mix should be?

I loved your video, and I love smooth walls with no texture!
I love textured walls. So elegant and makes a home look expensive. I hate sheet rock and just painting it is dull and boring. Texturizing or wall paper is the way to go. IMO
Lol so this painter I was potentially going to hire sent me this video. Don't know why I told him we have orange peel texture. My only question was is he applying it by a can or with a hopper gun? now I know who not to hire
Not sure I understand your question but if you add paint to any texturing product it is going to change the color of your paint so you would have to apply another coat of paint anywhere
So informative without talking crap between, you actually talked about what you're doing and how.

Yes. Bravo. Quick - to the point v

That's amazing! So simple. I like the Sand and Fine textures.
I get that fancy "monterey" look just taping my seams lol.
Excellent video. Very well done and very well explained. Thanks.
great video. no BS just an informative video. Well done
The monterrey look is what I’m trying to achieve for my wall. You made it Iook so easy. I’ll give it a go though . Thanks
Monterey I was hoping to see that texture. I didn’t know what that texture was called. I want to try that texture. Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to demonstrate all the different textures for walls. Very helpful video
THANK YOU! I like your video out of all I've watched. I feel I am ready to retexture my bathroom!
Great video, simple & to the point!
I personally ❤️ the Monterrey look.
Thank you 😊
Very informative video and you have explained it in a very nice way, I got my answer and BTW, you look beautiful in this video.
So comprehensive. Told me all I needed to know and gave me some ideas I hadn't considered.

Thank you for this video, im in the process of doing some of my walls.
got walls unfinished, I was feeling so overwhelmed $$$ - BUT then I found your channel! Thank you so much!
Could you please post links for the products in the post?
Thank you so much! new DIY here and searching all tips and great videos. 😍
Love 💕 the video hands on right the first minute and just like the other comments not 3 minute video and talk and talk and talk
This was very interesting! I often wonder how they make all these textures thank you
This video is very informative, I wish ‘somehow’ it was in other colors, for me, the tan color was difficult to see, but great job!
Perfect video to see the look AND exactly how to apply

Love this! I'm glad you gave so many samples -- helps to give ideas for what we might want.
So it's dry wall mix with water to create texture?
@@blancavillanueva9476yes basically but this lady is doing it wrong and ugly
This was the best video. Thank you!
Thank you so much you just saved me...bless you and your video

I agree. And sometimes it just simply more practical. Texture hides bumps and bruises if the home has children or pets
Appreciate this how to. Thanks!!!

I’m soo glad this video was made!!
I love her style. I think I will give my walls a try. Can I contact you incase I run into some quicksand? thanks
Thank you. Short and informative
Muchas gracias por este video.
We have different opinions on "smooth and subtle" 0:56
Awesome job, thank you very much. 😊
So helpful! Thank you

looks much better than My Old House !
Thank you 🙏. Much appreciated for sharing your experience!
Very nice 👍
You're killing it! Thanks
thanks for the different ways of textures that you have shone us.
How nice you awr.....❤
👍👍👍👍👍 just what I need as I was doing the hard hard way. Thank you.
When she says "smooth texture" producg, is that just drywall compound or something specific? Thanks!
I watched until the end for you to tell us what was in the buckets but you didn't :'(
Is it joint compound or plaster or?
What's the brand of the sand texture mud? Not having any luck googling it.
My question too!
Can we see what brands are used?
Where do you purchase compound mix with sand?
Thank you for the video
Thank you for this! I live in a pre-war with horrible walls. Layers of patches of paint jobs are visible. Texturing will hides these. How does a high-gloss paint finish look on a textured wall?
Where I live if you wait 15 minutes the drywall texture would be completely dry and you would not be able to knock it down
Awesome video thank you 👍

Which pre-mixed joint compound should I use ?
Hello ma’am I really enjoyed watching your vid please I would like you to learn me more on you creative idea thank you
Do all these have sand and water added or just the drywall mud? The second one with the textures ruler looked thicker than the first stuff
Great video!
You can buy spray cans for knockdown texture at lowes and home depot
Very expensive
A bought a box of the dry powder wall texture from home depot (not the premixed stuff), and I'm wanting to do the monterey finish. Any idea what the ratio of water to mix should be?
I loved your video, and I love smooth walls with no texture!
What type of roller did you use on the sand finish?
If I want the rough texture, do I buy the sand 2 gallon or the smooth 2 gallon
Is the stuff in the bucket just mud?
I love textured walls. So elegant and makes a home look expensive. I hate sheet rock and just painting it is dull and boring. Texturizing or wall paper is the way to go. IMO
What type of roller to use for the sand texture?
What is that material called?
Huge thank you for posting this.
Excellent video... thumbs up on production values and content. You made it very easy to update our home.
Close-up views would be nice
What is the product used please?
Is it just me or did the sand texture loomed smoother than the smooth texture?
Exactly. I was confused too
What was the compound she's using?
Can you add these textures over painted walls?
Yes. Sand lightly with 100 grit sandpaper. This helps the new paint grip or adhere to the wall..
These textures were very stylish! Up until 30 years ago... Lol
😆
Best comment! 😄
Can this be done over paneling? I really like the Monterey too.
No, even if you fill the seams, it will Crack out.
I'm going for the Santa Fe.
Monteray???
Is one of those styles also known as orange peel?
no orange peel?
Has anyone actually seen crows foot? not only does it look terrible but seems like a serious pain to install
Lol so this painter I was potentially going to hire sent me this video. Don't know why I told him we have orange peel texture. My only question was is he applying it by a can or with a hopper gun? now I know who not to hire
Not bad; but it’s hard to see the texture at the end. It all looks white, but at the end I cud finally see the splatter and drag one
It’s all personal taste personally I like certain textures on walls
Gracias por compartir 🙏
is this from the 80s?
I hate texted walls. However, I am Herr because I made a hole in the wall so thanks for the upload.
This looks like exterior texture to me. Too rough for inside walls.
can this be used on the exterior?
Depends on material
Can I mix smooth texture with paint before applying ?
Yes there is no paint on the drywall that she is applying it too.
Not sure I understand your question but if you add paint to any texturing product it is going to change the color of your paint so you would have to apply another coat of paint anywhere
Anyway
Thank you 💐😍
It could give an interesting look. Did you try it?
what is this video, 480p?
Why do we need a texture to begin with?
What is DRYWALL ?
❤❤❤❤❤
Bosoms out of this world.
It's called a bosom (singular) and you're sexist!
I’ve had to repair and attempt to match it several times and it looks horrible. It doesn’t add value to your home, in fact it does the opposite.
If thats what 6 inches is oh boy im in trouble
She talks just like a best friend of Carolyn Burnham, realtor in the American Beauty universe
why this video looks like 90s
it is the 4:3 aspect ratio i think
pretty lady
