I blame this song for making me think Guizhong is a calm, mellowed mature long haired lady, turns out she's a party people lol but now that I think about it the contrast between her character and this song is pretty sweet
I mean she still has long hair but it's just not loosened and by letting out her hair she'll look mature imo. But I rly love that she was different for how people thought who she was lol
I think it likely she's similar Barbatos - bright and energetic and even a bit loud or annoying, but when truly needed, incredibly soft and gentle. They're both the life of the party, at any rate. She got the whole assembly to sit and feast together and he got the seven to do the same. Party people gotta make the party happen!
After the lantern rite, this song now feels different.... It used to feel so romantic and sweet to me, but now, its so... bittersweet. Im sad for Ping 🥲
"should the day ever come that we are not together, you will continue to shine like gold in my memories", which I'd like to remind you, it's a sentence Zhongli says to the traveler. He says the travelers shines like gold because of their colour, so it's a sentence unique to them.
@@SebitorLP well, I'm so sure we'll get her "young version" because she is adepti and she can turn back into her true form when needed (like the last fight...)
Even though Zhongli has seen many people in his life pass in his lifetime and or betrayals happen. He still mourns. It shows how capable gods can be like humans. (for you two in the comments below my message. He Mourns different sheesh, every person mourns differently than others. His mourning is letting those who lived, lay at rest. Also known as giving the god of salt some proper rest with her relics. So like, stop being stuck up. He mourns. Madam Ping also mourns, she hasn't moved on either, she still grieves if you READ HER DIALOGUE! Apparently, some of you don't read.)
No, he doesn't mourn. He has literally moved on, mourning is being still bound to the loss and being unable to overcome it. Madame Ping still MISSES HER, but she has moved on. Zhongli has moved on as well, but he misses her too. Just like everyone else, included Xianyun. When you mourn, you can't even hear about the person you're mourning, Madame Ping and Zhongli can talk about it, that's called moving on.
Probably this song signifies a journey's end between individuals, you felt something was lost because you cherish the moment, not the particular person or individual you think should be, but just the moment and you can not let it past. Morax cherished the moment with Guizhong and others, lost almost everything, except Liyue and it's people, like a stone he can't move on or letting go, that's why when you listen to this you felt as if you're the current Zhongli, you can't move on as if you're a stone stuck for thousands of years, uncorrupted and unfaltering, stood by and watch as so many passed on and letting go.
@@neilgondra7379 she looked like she was totally gonna be playable T_T she would have been so badass if she had character development but was still the strong lady she was

This song is so melancholic and sweet, definitely listen to it in a different way when Teyvat's story ends, reliving the flashbacks of our adventures with the traveller and pain, I'm sure i'll cry like a child. Thank you Hoyoverse.
I remember the time when this was used to be called 'Guizhong's Lullaby' with the soft female voice humming the tune and all that, it's easy to imagine Guizhong as a gentle mature lady lulling the past Morax (who used to be muscle-brained) to sleep. I felt deep sadness every time I listened to this song prior to this point, imagining how painful it would be for Morax losing such a gentle and mother-like lover. Then, there's Lantern Rites 2023 and this... somehow it felt different. I mean, I used to picture Guizhong as a soft-spoken, gentle mommy, modeled her pretty identical to Ningguang (thanks in large part to a certain fan theory about Ningguang being a reincarnated Guizhong). But now, seeing the real Guizhong being the very embodiment of childlike energy gives me a new perspective toward this song, like, 'Nah, this Guizhong would have shot me with her Ballista if I bog myself for too long for her passing.
This song has nothing to do with Guizhong though,, ”Guizhong’s Lullaby” was just what fans called it before it had an official name, and I have no clue why since this is a Xiao song (that played during a scene with him). Even the Chinese title of the song is a reference to Xiao.
@@roki_00 yeah indeed. People called it Guizhong's lullaby because the real name was "Lover's oath" and they wanted to tie it with the Guili ship (which is fanmade still, like the song name). Much like the person in the comment above explained, people used to imagine a mother-like gentle Guizhong humming this song to Zhongli. This song isn't even about Guizhong at all. It's a western fandom hoax mostly spread by some shippers. It was NEVER called Guizhong's Lullaby.
