I had this same issue yesterday with my Yukon and was stranded. I watched your video, and it worked. I ducked taped it to the bolt and made it to orielys. I ordered the part and put it on the cable and it was fixed. This was the first time that I ever fixed a car and I truly thank bro Thumbs up for the video. I liked shared and subscribed and thank you for helping so many people
I cant believe you went this route after all the youtube videos demonstrating how those bushings fall off after a short while. Use a threaded shouldered bolt- grind down the head- cut to size- lock nut. Done forevermore.
@Skidmarks368 I was going to go that route, but didn't have time to go fetch all the hardware. They had these on the shelf at autozone and oreilly. If I have anymore issues, I'll definitely be using a bolt next time
My co worker just had this problem on a Yukon XL nobody has the part but dealer they made her by both pieces of I known you could by this part I could have saved her a lot of money.
Happened in my driveway. Couldn't find the piece anywhere. Dealership will sell you the whole cable. Ordered it online. A few bucks. Yes, the more you know....
Funny dry humor" right to the problem kinda guy I like him no B.S. you ⏰🤑 saved me time and some money. I lived in Huston in the early 70's I'm in Nevada now think you very much kept putting out the video with that dry humor you remind of George Collins and I did his show when he was alive at the Bally hotel and casino in Vegas .
You got lucky after trying 4 different bushings and a new cable mine still popped off after one to three shifts so I drilled out the stud and put a bolt in just to have the clip that holds the cables together to break the next day now waiting on the clip to come in because parts stores don’t carry them
I literally had this issue today. I get in my avalanche and put it in gear and I had nothing in the shifter. So I went underneath and just put the lever on and hoped for the best. I got to the O'Reilly's and the part is in the isle for HELP section. There are 2 different one's........1 has 2 pieces (2 of those round inserts) and the other has 3 pieces (2 round inserts and 1 U shaped insert) The employee gave me the 3 piece and I messed up both of them. I had a really hard time getting it in and when I finally did, I guess I messed it up that it would not latch on the transmission lever. So I went back in the store, got the other one, the 2 piece and that went it. I used a pocket flat screwdriver and it went right in. Lucky the guy was cool and gave me a refund for the 3 piece cause it was like $22 and the 2 piece was like $8. When you get it, look at the insert. One side is flat and the other is curved/pointy. The curved is the side you push it thru....its like it's pointing you in the direction it wants to go......(If that makes sense) No spit or lube needed...just the right part, the right direction and a pocket flat screwdriver.....with a little force.
Just saved me 200 bucks and I can now get to work tomorrow. Thanks buddy.
