- This year marks the 45th anniversary of the release of ALIEN. In this interview, Tom and Veronica shared their personal insights from their work together on Ridley Scott's seminal sci fi classic.
Great movie, great actors, a lost generation of stars. Long live for Skerrit and Cartwrite
Veronica gives a suspenseful energy to every movie she is in that keeps every scene rolling like butter.
Even from a young age she could be counted on for a competent performance
Veronica Cartright I love her personality
That was great. It's good to see them both looking well & speaking in such an articulate and enthusiastic way about "Alien", which i'm sure they've been questioned about so many times since it's release. It's a remarkable film & they, like all the other actors, gave such amazing naturalistic perfomances. They should be very proud.
This was so special. Thanks.
Veronica Cartwright is one of best actresses in the world
You have 7 subscribers and you got Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright on your channel? How?
One of my favourite movies ever. Thank you Tom and Veronica for your time :)
Thank you for this ! ALIEN was the first horror film to imoress me with the quality of its acting. It also familiarized me with marvelous Veronica Cartwright. Her character Lambert's progression from bemused exasperated annoyance to sheer panic and terror is a terrific performance. She is the best character AND supporting actress Hollywood has ever been blessed with. She was definitely snubbed at the 1987 Academy awards because she gave another incredible performance in that film as Felicia Alden.
I saw alien when I was 13 in 1979 I love this movie it is great
It's a masterpiece.
Brilliant interview.
Wow. This is brilliant! Thankyou for getting these two amazing actors together.
Veronica Cartwright was amazing in the movie.
Can you believe Mr Tom Skerritt is 90 years of age?
Wow, he's looking great and well for a 90 year old 😊
Is he? bloody hell, I thought he was in his 70s.
Agree that V. Cartwright gave a special performance. Actually heard she was edited out a bit due to a competitive rift with S. Weaver - not sure if it’s true.
The 1970s was the best decade for movie-making, imo.
Sigourney does get a lot of credit, which is well deserved, but the other actors would have likely been throwaway characters if it werent for the actors. You see that if you think of most 'one left alive' horror movies and usually you can't even recall who the other 'ingredients' even are. They are just cannon fodder. And hats off to the writers for that aspect as well.
But sorry, Harry Dean Stanton is always the biggest standout of any movie that Harry Dean Stanton was in. Hell he was in Avengers for ten seconds and still is the most memorable part of it for me.
Anybody notice that in the future everybody smokes in Ridley Scotts worlds? I guess maybe the logic is that they look so bleak that people figure "well hell, lung cancer is least of my worries". I like Tom's wood stove is the other standout of the interview, big solar window and a wood stove, nicely designed room and unrelated to everything:)
They may be smoking futuristic fake cigarettes - ie vaping.
It is amazing to realize: the actors were coauthors of this movie!!!
Veronica carried the first film on her back.
One of ridleys mistake is when lambert was going to be killed by the xenomorph ,the enos tail came behind lambert you saw she had trainers on , what lambert worn was cowboy boots , not trainers , they were the trainers of Brett when he was also killed by the xenomorph.
Interviewers talk way too much. I always cringe on behalf of the invited guests - they are the ones I want to hear.
Bittersweet hearing about Yaphet in the interview knowing hes gone. He was the biggest cheerleader of Alien back when he was alive. He was so proud of his part in it and its place in history. Wonderfull interview
Indeed - Yaphet looked like someone I would have liked to meet, just to say hello. He had a natural charm and charisma to him. May he RIP.
