35%er here. The Carlsbad is dope. 3:19 into video was a hole overhead. I think I was maybe 19, so almost 50 years ago we went caving in Indiana on a farm. Went to his front door to tell him we were there. No answer and being bold we figured we would be out in a couple hours. This is on a Friday afternoon around one. Out in the field was a lone oak tree with a garbage can lid laying under it. That was the entrance that the Carlsbad hole reminded me of. We each had a sandwich and water, some rope and a flashlight. 50’ down the hole it flattened out but only 30” clear. We ran out of guide string but it was so awesome we kept going. Needless to say, we were down to one dimming flashlight, no water or food left before we finally found the guide string. That was Sunday evening. I’d do it again. The underground waterfalls were deafening. With lights out you could touch your nose and not see you hand. It was beautiful.
Visited there 30 years ago. Yes, highly recommended. We were at the bottom and the ranger shut the lights off for a minute just for haha’s. Thank you for your video.
I loved seeing the caverns, it is a place I would never see any other way. Sitting Bull Falls was beautiful, I can’t imagine what the oasis must have looked like in the desert! Thank you for sharing the video of your trip.
Made that same Carlsbad Caverns & White Sands trip 50 years ago. Brought back some great memories... took cardboard & used it for sledding down the sand moutains. Also stayed for what seemed to be a million bats fly out the cave. BTW - 35%'er here.
Glad you got to check the caverns out! It's like you're reliving my childhood where my dad took my sister and me around the country in the RV to a lot of these places.
I haven't been to those caverns in a very long time, but I can still remember how grand that room was. Thanks, I hope you are enjoying your trip. I must have made some one mad on TH-cam because I no longer get notifications on anybody's channels
Something about being out in the sand dunes, is just a mind opening feeling. I used to ride in the imperial sand dunes in California on my quad, and it was my therapy. Glad your out there seeing this stuff man. Not only is it cool to see this beautiful country but being on the road, you can learn so much more and meet some really intriguing people. Definitely some weird ones too but mostly great people.
Sorry to hear about the heat/windshield issue. If you get the chance (somewhere in your travels) you might find Cimarron, NM. a nice visit. I haven't been there since the summer of '83 but, if it hasn't changed too much since then, it was a very interesting little town with some history under It's belt.
I promise I'm part of the 35% I'm so glad I found you. I can travel the world with u virtually ofcourse 😔. But you living on of my dreams and inspire me so... much to not give up.🥰🙌
I drove across Texas 2 weeks ago to do the same trip with my 4 kids. this was amazing trip and is defiantly worth the 10hr drive for me. great video man, i wish my footage turned out this well.
there is also a nice hiking trail in cloud croft called the Osha trail, defiantly worth the couple hrs it takes to hike it. its got some good views of an old wooden railroad trestle bridge.
I love that area. When I was stationed at Ft Bliss, I used to do Carlsbad, Lincoln NF (especially Dog Creek trail and Cloudcroft) but plenty of time in the sand and Ruidoso too. I'd never live in NM, but I love SE NM!
Went there with my kids and it’s absolutely fantastic! I’ve spent many summers in New Mexico as a kid always loved dust devils, roadrunners and snakes! You need to check out that Gila Cliffs dwellings! Stunning!Be safe
That ski resort out by Cloudcroft has some of the best and longest zip lining in the Continental US believe it or not. I was in Artesia NM for 3 months and did a lot down there. Enjoyed the video
Dude!! I hope you had a good time in New Mexico. It is very Enchanted. Next time swing west of Gallup and hit up Knife City in Sun Valley Arizona. Stay cool and healthy.
I'd did a vacation around 1986 that included a stop at Carlsbad Caverns, and the "Cave with no name" in Boerne, TX, IIRC. As it happened, I had pneumonia the whole time. Fortunately, all the beer I drank kept me going. :-) Check out Canyon de Chelly in the Four Corners region if you have the time.
Went to carlsbad and white sands in November with the family..and went through that same entrance. The wind was outrageous up top when we went. You wouldn't have been able to vlog at all.
I am subbed, been for like 4 years but still not morning for me lol. Being a graveyard guy stuff comes out when im asleep and i watch it when i get up around 7pm 😂
The caverns looked great. I’m sure the camera does not do it justice. The sand was so white and clean. Very cool. I don’t replace windshields till I get a repair order from a cop or I go to trade it in. You would think that technology could prevent that 🤦🏼 stay safe ✌🏼
The shot in white sands could double as the Mars Rover with the space age SAT Van... It's all beautiful- ✊🏻 PS - oh and speaking of Roswell... Well... You know. 🧖♂️🦄
I really wish you would take the satvan to silver lake sand dunes in Michigan but that would ruin the van but you could rent a rzr and have a blast out there
Carlsbad caverns are sick you missed the Sonora caverns in texas and you could have spent a night at Enchanted Rock sunsets up there are amazing right outside of Fredericksburg tx little German town with a good brewery and wine everywhere the only town in texas where you can walk around drink and shop cool boutiques a little get away town !
Exact same thing happened to my windshield yesterday, and the tiny chip that started it looked to be in almost the exact same place as yours. 😖 Oh, and speaking of NM ski areas, Taos up north is prob my favorite of the NM ski areas. Been subscribed to your channel for a while but just noticed your skiboard videos. Looks like I have some 'catch up' watching to do this weekend. Keep up the good work! 🤜🤛
Ok. Shamed into subscribing today...not that you need another sub...but here I am. Slowly coming around to the idea of trading in the ML350 on a gigantica Sprinter van - solely based on your channel. (And because I think they offer a rebate since I belong to MBCA 😎)
Love this, would like to make it happen for me and my wife some time in the future to go out and drive around a country... what is your van and why did you decided to use that one for the trip? Any considerations for a first timer to make sure to consider prior going out? Thanks.

White Sands is beautiful!! Crazy how the sand is so fresh with shoes off.
@@dieseldabz7104 I thought it must be salt like the salt flats in Utah.
