Just now coming back 14 years later since watching elevator videos during my pre school days. I thank you very much for making my childhood memories, as this video and your channel will always remain in my heart and for future generations. Please keep it up!
The first time I rode a roped hydraulic was at the Hotel at Old Town in Wichita. These actually had the jacks mounted to beams on the roof and were downward acting.
I had never even considered the possibility of a "roped hydraulic elevator"! I always *assumed* that they required a ram under the car, and since I've never felt any steps in the movement, I always *assumed* that the ram was as deep under ground as the number of floors that the elevator served. While not personally a fan of hydraulic elevators (motor generator power for me!) I love how they show off rather than hide the mechanism behind the glass. Very cool!
Im actually more of a fan of traction elevators because unlike hydraulic elevators they will start moving the second the doors are shut and the interlock latches

Hey Andrew you should see the Elevator at Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock. It's a Schindler Roped Hydraulic.
Again we see the circular skylight as the unifying motif for this complex.
Pretty neat, you should make a video explaining all the different types, brands and etc of elevators :p
It's awesome that you can see the roped hydraulic system in the shaft.
Amazing elevator system
Thanks for the review of this elevator, Nick Cage
