  • DEAFKIDS are Douglas Leal, Marcelo Dos Santos and Mariano Sarine, a three-piece from Brazil whose cross-genre experiments take influence from punk, noise and industrial sounds, combined with hypnotic polyrhythms that draw from Brazilian music.
The trio's extensive discography spans music has appeared on legendary US independent label Neurot Recordings and on Rocket Recordings in the UK. DEAFKIDS have also collaborated with recent Fact Live guests Petbrick as DEAFBRICK, whose first album of metal and electronics was released last year. In 2019, they released a collaborative two-song EP with São Paulo duo Rakta, and last year, they appeared on the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack.
In this episode of Patch Notes, Fact visited the trio at a studio in São Paulo, where they set aside their guitars for an hybrid performance involving samplers, synths, pedals and drums as well as traditional South American percussion and wind instruments.
DEAFKIDS’ next release will be another collaborative release with Rakta, a live album recorded at São Paulo’s SESC Pompéia in 2019. Pre-order it here ahead of its release on May 21 here: www.rapideyere...

I KNEW they'd eventually ditch the guitars and focus on effects exclusively. Like a metalhead version of Black Dice.

Isn't Wolf Eyes the metalhead version of Black Dice?

I see what you mean, but I meant more that Black Dice started out hardcore with guitars then went noise. I think Wolf Eyes were noise from the start.

@@stinkyboy69514 that there's a korg monotribe, hilariously mean little box, although it's not doing anything in particular here that i can tell. if you want to make stuff like this i'd suggest start with a looper and almost anything that makes noise, maybe some 90s cheap synth or drum machine.
