Yes, the vast majority of teens can be persuaded much easier than a fully developed adult. Manipulation is not always down to conversation, it can apply to material possession or positions of power which most adults possess. Teens do not have the life experience that adults do, and this will make much more sense when you also reach your 30's. You think you know the world at 17 but it hasn't even begun. Relationships between 17 and 19 year olds are super common in the real world. I was 17 and my ex was 19. The age gap really isn't that diffrent. We started dating in High School and continued dating into college. There were a ton of people in high school who had the exact same age gap with their S/O. People cancelling folks for an age gap like this are terminally online and have no life experience. In the real world things are much diffrent. Most of the kids who cancel people for this are literal children with no life experience.

I'm pretty sure the issue is that someone legally considered an adult taking advantage of someone who is the ward of someone else/is a minor is the reason why it's an issue. Not everyone in such a relationship online or in real life finds themselves taken advantage of, but many people are. I'm not going to pull the excuse of "well actually, I have been a viewer of KonekoKitten's channel for a while and I know he wouldn't do this 🤓🤓" because while yes, I have watched him and his stuff for a while, it doesn't matter in what's happening right now. In my eyes, I'm sort of like tom when he says that the age gap isn't extreme (like say a 35-year-old guy grooming a 12-year-old girl), I don't know if it's that inexcusable. However, I am not defending his actions though. What I will say in his defense is that I'm glad that he actually came out and actually talked about this like an actual human being. I've seen so many youtubers, twitch streamers, and content creators make faulty apology videos that are all along the lines of "oh I actually didn't do the crime, you guys are just being lied to." When I first turned 18, a mutual friend that was 16 asked me out and just that 2/3 year difference made me uncomfortable enough to turn them down. (Asides from the fact they were fem presenting and I'm masc loving masc in simple terms) I wouldn't call this grooming but it is horribly toxic and sadly a somewhat common thing within young folks relationships today as both mental health issues and toxic relationship dynamics have been both glorified and romanticized in media. Kids and teens feel the need to grow up as fast as possible which pushes them into situations they can't handle yet, it's a very unfortunate truth. The sharing of self-harm photos is a very common tactic to keep others in a relationship, I remember being sent some when I was in the 6th grade by another boy in my class who was obsessed with a girl in our class, but she kept turning him down because ya know. We were all children still and weren't ready to start dating. It's disgusting and traumatizing, a horrifying tactic to keep someone within their control. Just a very gross situation, with some very toxic people.. This doesn't bother me too much considering the fact that this "Narpy" person is a manipulative suicide baiter that knew what he was doing. Relationships between 17 and 19 year olds are super common in the real world. I was 17 and my ex was 19. The age gap really isn't that diffrent. We started dating in High School and continued dating into college. There were a ton of people in high school who had the exact same age gap with their S/O. I'm pretty sure the issue is that someone legally considered an adult taking advantage of someone who is the ward of someone else/is a minor is the reason why it's an issue. Not everyone in such a relationship online or in real life finds themselves taken advantage of, but many people are. Add on the thing about cp, some would point towards the power imbalance and amount of trust given to someone that close to you only for them to abuse that trust. It happens in real life too.

I'm not going to pull the excuse of "well actually, I have been a viewer of KonekoKitten's channel for a while and I know he wouldn't do this 🤓🤓" because while yes, I have watched him and his stuff for a while, it doesn't matter in what's happening right now. In my eyes, I'm sort of like tom when he says that the age gap isn't extreme (like say a 35-year-old guy grooming a 12-year-old girl), I don't know if it's that inexcusable. However, I am not defending his actions though. What I will say in his defense is that I'm glad that he actually came out and actually talked about this like an actual human being. I've seen so many youtubers, twitch streamers, and content creators make faulty apology videos that are all along the lines of "oh I actually didn't do the crime, you guys are just being lied to." Koneko owns up to his actions, and while I don't think they are as dire as some people say they are, I think that him taking a break from the internet is a good thing, especially since he's currently trying to change and be better. I also don't think it was completely necessary to take down the video (maybe just remake it and do another one with better information) but man, it's really weird seeing Toms video of him basically saying that he's happy for Koneko only for the allegations to come in only 2 weeks later.

When I first turned 18, a mutual friend that was 16 asked me out and just that 2/3 year difference made me uncomfortable enough to turn them down. (Asides from the fact they were fem presenting and I'm masc loving masc in simple terms)
I wouldn't call this grooming but it is horribly toxic and sadly a somewhat common thing within young folks relationships today as both mental health issues and toxic relationship dynamics have been both glorified and romanticized in media. Kids and teens feel the need to grow up as fast as possible which pushes them into situations they can't handle yet, it's a very unfortunate truth.
The sharing of self-harm photos is a very common tactic to keep others in a relationship, I remember being sent some when I was in the 6th grade by another boy in my class who was obsessed with a girl in our class, but she kept turning him down because ya know. We were all children still and weren't ready to start dating. It's disgusting and traumatizing, a horrifying tactic to keep someone within their control.
