      shame it wasn't really their fault, trying to walk on a runway with heaps of confetti would be unpredictable and difficult for anyone especially in heels

    • @AnnabellaWinsteald
      @AnnabellaWinsteald 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, walking in high heels on a catwalk covered with petals (either true of false ones) is a true nightmare! Several shows have been clouded by numerous models falling because of that (Barila Spring 2010, Emilia Vishnevskaya Fall 2014, Keraia Fall 2016)...

      I think the morgue wants it’s bodies back too!, I remember when models had such beauty, they all look so miserable, but I guess it doesn’t help when you’re falling about like a new born calf! lol

    Don't like Maria's work - the Dior "new look" small waist, big round skirt looks so dated, plus the pale pink/nude colors on this dated shape just looks so faded, washed out and dull. The young beautiful models actually look so bloodless and weak. The jackets and skirts look so matronly, this just looks so vintage in a old tired way and then suddenly the black see through trashy netting looks, jarring you in another terrible way. Tragic.

      You youtube queens always complaining, do you even buy at Dior?? I DO and i see very well executed clothes with amazing quality nothing to compare with zara and don't even bring Galliano he was good for shows but his clothes wouldn't sell and guees what? : clothes need to be sold and she's good at it.

    • @ds7461
      @ds7461 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@enriquerdz6537 yeah sure, it sells, but it wouldn't sell if this wasn't dior. A lot of things sell, but that doesn't mean it's of quality. H&m sells but they have shitty quality and steal designs.

    From old Valentino to dated Armani references... Maria Grazia presented a very dull color blind Spring-summer collection. Thank goodness for John Galliano’s saddle bag for Dior many seasons ago supporting this collection, otherwise it is dead on arrival. But the real stars of the show is truly the moving choreography and performance by the amazing dancers.

  • @SEEKER-yn5ir

    I like dancer. But I can't concentrate to the clothes😥😥😥
    I think the show is mess...and the clothes are too grayish. I can't see the dior's endemic elegant line.
    This show is not a dior. It is just not different to the other shows.

    Interesting information to read!
    “Forbes released its annual Global 2000 list of the world's largest public companies, and reported that Dior is still the world's biggest luxury brand, raking in a "record-breaking" 44 billion euros ($49 billion) just last year. Investors helped drive that growth, "bidding the stock up by some 75 percent," according to Forbes. They clearly aren't concerned by the hit-and-miss reviews of collections from Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri or worried whether the influencer bubble might burst - they just see dollar signs”

    K let’s get real here about Maria Grazia for a second , is she a good designer yes , is she a good fit for Dior? Absolutely not , I love her delicate feminine touch , but this is not Dior at all , she needs her own brand or work under another label ASAP LMVH, Dior don’t need a local semestres , Dior needs a visionary an artist and a risk taker, Maria gives you pretty and meh! I understand the Galliano mourners a bit John will not be back anytime soon. Beautiful set beautiful show but that’s it once again.

      Khalil M Dior had a visionary and an artist in the form of Raf Simons. Absolutely beautiful, modern clothes which also managed to pay homage to the DNA of the House. Big Daddy begged him to stay but he declined. I find this game of musical chairs amongst fashion houses and designers to be most unfortunate. A major turn off for the client IMO.

      Ritti M SERIOUSLY! It’s so dour and grim. Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Dior doesn’t posses the whimsy and fantasy of John Galliano’s Dior; nor does it have the artistic rigor and experimentation of Raf Simon’s Dior. I appreciate that she’s the first female designer at the house, but she’s been putting out the same colorless collection for so many seasons now.

      Justice J. Srisuk Fashion reflects the mood of the day. With right-wing extremism/fascism creeping back into modern politics, the overall atmosphere is depressing. I think if people concerned themselves with the real world, they’d understand why collections have been a bit muted. After 9/11 and the war on terror, we saw a lot of camouflage and military inspired designs.

    So when are they getting rid of her?

  • @Sweetthang9
    @Sweetthang9 6 ปีที่แล้ว +33

    The woman is definitely evolving. This was yet another step in the right direction and could possibly be her best moment at this house. Nobody in their right mind could justify that these clothes weren't beautiful...beautiful and unapologetically wearable. Expectation is a killer sometimes. I think those of us who grew up with Galliano at the helm have the heavy weight of his fantasy on our expectations but....high fashion is first and foremost about what the buyers will order to put in the stores. The fantasy does not make the sale. Those of us who prioritize the show, the models, the otherworldliness, aren't usually the ones actually dropping the cash for the pieces. This collection was chock full of beautiful signature pieces that would elevate any wardrobe. The proportions were right, there were some gorgeous volumes, sharp suits (that bone suit with the of-the-moment bermuda short was a wonderful unique take), etherial pleats, diaphanous movement....I loved that white grecian gown at the beginning, those sleek ombre coats, the art nouveau florals, the absolutely stunning godet skirts near the end. The only misguided moments, for me, were the looks with the mesh and the "ethic" tunics...and she honestly needs to meet a palette that includes hues other than black, navy and blush. All in all, though....if you remove the label and look at the clothes, this is a beautiful collection. You then have to ask yourself why you care so much about the name in the first place.

    • @ds7461
      @ds7461 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There are some really pretty pieces, but a lot of designers can create pretty dresses. She has to do something new, not just create the same old silhouettes. If you remove the label, it's nothing more than a nice brand, Dior is more than that.

    • @Sweetthang9
      @Sweetthang9 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I care about fashion as a real life entity more than I care about labels. This is far from the best collection I've ever seen, but I have to give credit where credit is due. She is trying something new, while maintaining a signature and trying to appeal to the post-millennial, burgeoning Chinese market. The color palette and the styling is tired, but the things I mentioned, new proportions in suits, the gorgeous pleating, the pinpoint embroidery. Look closely at the details and they are very new for Maria Grazia. She may have less impact at first glance, but the details are very thoughtful. Most people expect impossible volumes, over-the-top appliqué, electric colors and distracting styling/production....but those. things. don't. sell. It may be difficult to swallow but there has been steady revenue growth under Maria and Christian Dior remains the highest selling brand in the world.

      Totally agree with you.. so many people had in their minds "Galliano" who personally talking I didn't like his designs too Avant Garde .fantasy. which is not the French approach to haute couture ( Technics ). And then you see all these people talking like they are a regulars customers and not even know that for example the jackets with the belt and the skirts are "Dior's aesthetics" that is what I like about Maria Grazia that she is trying to bring the classic silluets and trying to reinterpret them of course some works well others not so others not at all but that is why exist seasons

      I mean....I loved Galliano....and I loved Simons for Dior (his debut couture collection is in the top 10 for me)....but even Dior is allowed to come down from the couture rafters. The only people who care that Dior isn't a "show" anymore are the people who only value Dior FOR the show (i.e. people who can't afford the clothes). If someone can only judge the collection by the label, they have some priorities to sort out.

      @@Sweetthang9 they expected a super show but not even know anything about the Maison that is why (most of the big brands at least the French old classic ones) the focus right now is in Asia where people with less knowledge (like Western people think) appreciate and understand what a classic brand is about..

    Im seeing everyone drag this collection in the comments. And while i do agree thats its kind of aweful,the truth is that consumers and the ones who actually buy this are loving it. Dior is selling selling selling. They also reported that under maria grazia they now have more Couture clients than ever. So while us Raf loving fashion geeks might not care for this. You have to realize that you don't have a say in this. The women buyingbthese 12k dresses are in charge and they're saying that maria grazia ain't going anywhere.

      It’s their accessories that sell. Not the shitty garments her and her design team come up with.

      Say it louder for the peanut gallery living paycheck to paycheck. There were some pieces I liked, the ones that reminded me of Disco Gold Missoni dresses. However, since I cannot afford these designs it behooves me to not knock someone else's taste.

      Correction: It's Galliano they're whoring after. Apparently, it's a crime for Dior to go wearable clothes and have sales.
