Outstanding collection. It made me think of Audrey Hepburn,, an icon of style, sophistication, and simplicity. I could see myself wearing most of these ensembles, This is the best Fall Winter 2018 2019 Collection!
So astonishing, simply love how the designer transforms each individual model into another era. The fabrics are so delicate and flowing with a hint of exotic intrigue!!!
I see a beautiful collection. I know people do expect a lot from couture collections specially when they can´t help but compare the current with the past designer(s). But i see a collection inspired by Dior DNA and the women of the era of elegance and glamour where less was always more. The dresses even though have the same line they are amazingly well cut and hand finished with details that can only be achieved with Haute couture(specially with such delicate fabrics). What we have to accept is that Maria Grazia Chiuri is a minimalist fashion designer, she is not flamboyant or excentric and never the less she is good at what she does. (we can´t please everyone).
I agree. This collection harkens back to the glamorous era of Dior and I think it's hard for those to embrace a collection like this, when they have been programmed to think naked and half-naked grandiose shock value pieces are the only definitions of haute couture. This collection is feminine and elegant and Maria Grazia designed it for women who love to embrace their femininity.
This collection start from paying tribute to Dior from 40s 50s era, dress and costume two piece with very sharp cut and small waist then it evolves to embrace modernity at 7:54 and goes more and more modern. Haute couture isn't only extravanga and not wearable clothes for some, this is French haute couture the clothes are designed to be very comfortable, sharp and precise cut, well ironed, and embracing human movement, that the person who wears it is able to move and feel comfortable. And it has to embrace elegance, timeless you can wear even for 5years still fashionable
The word precise comes to mind--the craftsmanship is impeccable as are the fabrics. Everything completely wearable and pretty, but there is no fantasy or genius here, hasn't been since Galliano left. He was the best ever!
I like it. I really do like it. It is like going back to the quintessential forms and textures of haute couture: the clean and austere lines, the minimal embroideries and the absence of dramatic elements that will make a dress too "theatrical and operatic".I do not think it is "boring" (which I find quite offensive to be honest); this collection vibrates on the perspective of minimalist nuances: she is a woman of suppleness, of refinement, of elegance who possesses a quintessential "french quality", she is also a woman who is neoclassical in esprit with the absence of haughtiness and grandeur. Seriously, those who say that this is very RTW should study and do an ample amount of reading before giving any kind of "offensive and obscene" opinions for they do no really know anything about haute couture. Couture is not all about glamour but it is all about the fundamentals of expression and the viva voce of a certain age carefully interwoven with showmanship, articulation and formidable skills in the art of dressmaking
I love everything in this show! To me, the set up is classy, elegant and clean. Some designs might be too simple for everybody, and some are really impressed, but all of them are so well finished. The way the models acted in this collection shows me the natural state of being. Great show!
IMHO this is a really fantastic collection....very elegant, simple, tailored, sophisticated look. Yes, Chiuri has already established herself as a minimalist but in the Dior tradition of femininity and elegance. I you want flamboyance, then go to Versace. This for the secure and sophisticated women who doesn't give a damn...ha ha ha
Reading some of the comments, it's obvious that this designer is not well-liked. However, I think the pieces are classy and feminine. She designed this collection for women. Not how some men think women should dress. I know that ridiculously designed, wild avante garde torture pieces turns some folks on, but tons of us would simply like to see, buy and wear these types of clothes. Some of these beautiful pieces are couture designs that can go from year to year. Not everything has to be naked, half-naked with shock value to be considered haute couture.
You are so very correct. I've just watched 6 different 2019 collections & even demure & ultra feminine Elle Saab had half his collection see-thru materials & this years trend of thigh high boots with almost every dress. Dior reigns supreme for elegance & what a real woman wants to look like & wear.
Love this collection! Precise cut, elegant, simple and very clean🙌🌹🌹 and first looking at the decirating of the place the ceiling mirroring everything and all the white samples reminding the Maison of couture, it is very chic. This seems to describe the past and present, the belle epoque era and now to modernity still holding the basics and value of Maison Dior. One can see the collection starting from the beginning is very much from 50s era dress and costume two pieces, Dior cut small waist and V colar, it goes on the 'till at 7:54 embracing modernity like from 90s and now many cocktail dress and evening gien could look déjà vue yes, some may not like it but that is also the definition of timeless and elegance, very comfortable and one can move easily and sit and not extravaganza gown it's all fantastic for every for all different kind of event
Loving this colecction!!! The palette colors soft and delicate. well done!!! Please don’t pay attention to the predecible comments of people that said to be modern you must wear ugly clothing. like the lates shows of Gucci by Alessandro Michele, he did the same horrible clothing again and again but have a lot of fans ... flock of sheeps !!,
Alexa GS to some extend i agree with you. Every single dress look great. Everything is wearable. But yet it seem that She have no signature. Doesnt have panache. Dior have find their New marc bohan.
She looked so relieved to have completed another show, and stay in this contract. The most exciting thing about this collection was the beautiful model with the braids.
Very reminiscent of early 40s fashion particularly French inspired during the Germanic occupation. They are great for statement pieces like jewellery, bags or shoes and accentuate the natural figure of the wearer but what is winning me over the most is mid hem lines.
Wooow 😍😍😍 this is a fabulous fashion show that will never age ❤️ each piece has a touch of creativity though it looks simple ❤️ elegant, feminine, very sophisticated designs ❤️❤️❤️ loving ittttt😍
Finally! I see a haute with something truly elegant to wear in real life, something not sparkling with dumb sequins all over, not meant to shock society, but clothing designed to bring feminine side in woman into focus. Those simple colors, lines, creative cuts, all is so perfect! Love that exquisite minimalism.
The collection was quite simple and chic. I did see many looks I would wear for different occasions for the fall/winter season. However this is supposed to be haute couture and it’s the opportunity to go over the top and show your guests and the world what fashion as an art is. Overall I did like it but it’s fairly safe for a haute couture collection from a historical fashion brand. I guess growing up during the Galliano era at Dior I was spoiled by his genius work but I must say this truly was just safe.
This collection with it's very simple lines would be what I would call "beginner sewing" . I am a person trained in Couture sewing/tailoring, so I see how "safe" this collection is... However, I do still think it is a beautiful collection. I would have liked to see fewer dresses in the almost "nude" color... the collection lacked colour and innovative cuts... The black clothing was hard to see in the video, the cuts of the clothing. Someone commented "bring back John Galliano"... well, he is a genius and made some amazing designs... Dior was remiss in firing him... We all make mistakes and say stupid things when having had a bit too much to drink... He should have been forgiven and carried on making the House of Dior remarkable instead of almost dead...
Cristian Dior /Raul winter coleção 2018/2019 surpreendeu com tantá classe nos modelos pastéis! Linda como sempre ela si divulga entre os demais! Parabéns! MAACATITA Mascarenhas Pita!
Bitchy much? I'd rather see a sliver of tape than to have the poor 15 year old girl exposing herself. I know what nipples look like. I don't want to see them on the runway. Maria Grazia, since you are not conforming with the fashion world's silly demands, why not grant the women their modesty and privacy? This was a lovely collection, I just hate the peep show aspect.
Such an elegant and exquisite collection! It's just unfortunate that a lot of people don't see Maria's vision and creative expression. Haute Couture, in essence, is tailor-made, custom-fit clothes, nothing more than that. However, people seem to be leaning more to the theatrics of sets and a styling extravaganza, which takes the focus away from the garments, the clothes. In the past, people relate Dior to ultra-femininity and OLD-FASHIONED. People couldn't remember the house more than a Lady Dior bag and some extravagant clothes that even regular Ready-to-Wear clients won't buy. Maria's is able to turn it around by making clients flock to the RTW section, and get a piece of Dior and wear it daily, exactly fitted to the definition of READY-to-wear. They're not meant to be clothes to be hidden in the wardrobe. We wear t-shirts everyday, why are we faulting a designer for making t-shirts relevant to the women in 2018? Is Galliano ruining the house of Margiela if he were to create printed t-shirts? Don't forget this, Maison Martin Margiela has a diffusion line that profits from selling commercial clothes, same goes to Valentino and Galliano's namesake brand. Why is that when male designers like Galliano (Margiela), Ghesquiere (Louis Vuitton), Piccioli (Valentino), Lagerfeld (Chanel) made t-shirts and send out looks of similar silhouettes, it's deemed as "COOL"? But when Maria does the same, she's deemed as boring, lacks creativity, and killing the House of Dior? Hmm... I can't help but wonder...
your so full of SHIT...OK...HAUTE COUTURE ENVOLVES MUCH MORE THAN CUSTOM FIT CLOTHES! IT INVOLVES ALOT OF OTHER TECHNIQUES, ARTISANS. EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES,TEXTILE,ECT....THIS GARBAGE BELONGS IN THE TOWN BOUTIQUE...TGHEY SELL THIS IN MIRACLE MILE IN MY CITY.....
Where do they hide the skirt seams....is the skirt made of one entire fabric or have they attached 2 seperatly cut fabric to make bigger skirt if so how can i hide the seams.....the 2018 fall dior gown which lady gaga was wearing....there are ruffles in the end of the skirt but cannot see any seam....what magic is it??can someone explain me
Its a feminine collection, muted palettes and clean lines. Couture should be fun and sometimes OTT but I also think perhaps just as important for it to be wearable.
i expected a bit more prints and fall is chilly you need some type of light jacket or blazer whats with all the goods hanging out this yr i would not wear that in public
It may seem "boring" and is not "avant garde" like previous designers but there is enough shock value clothes out there. Let the other designers do that you have to remember that DIOR is LVMH star in their empire and that its clients who buy couture actually have a life also and usually a very private one. I think her use of separates and more day wear is crucial to keeping the clients and in the long run LVMH happy.
Beautiful. The precise fit, the draping (all those pleats!), the silhouettes, and the colours. The construction alone is pure couture.
Outstanding collection. It made me think of Audrey Hepburn,, an icon of style, sophistication, and simplicity. I could see myself wearing most of these ensembles, This is the best Fall Winter 2018 2019 Collection!
Moo
pink dresses stole my heart

I agree with you people must remeber that Dior also had Marc Bohan(he stayed there until 1989) and Ferre who made clothes woman actually could wear
I agree. Excelente me encantó el desfile Christian Dior , la escenografía, el todo que acompaña la elegancia, un glamour total. Felicitaciones.
Beautiful collection. Almost all peaces are wearable
I could watch over and over..stunningly, restrained, hip..has everything
My vintage accessories would enjoy being worn on the black drapey garments.
Felicitaciones, Excelente trabajo, los diseños son muy hermosos

Much better than the past collections! Now this is more Dior!
I agree ~~
The best of Dior ! noble minimalism !
These are beautiful. Simply beautiful.
Extremely beautiful!!! this is definitely and truly haute couture! This is what we call Haute Couture!
Wonderful, as usual. This is the only fashion show I have enjoyed so much that I have watched it three times. Superb! Thanks 🙏

Nice job, this definitely something special
