These races are like old friends, watching these back takes me back to when my Dad would ask me to watch a race with him. He watched from the 60s to 2022 and was nuts about bikes, miss him dearly. But blessed that I feel he is with me watching these.
its 480i. it might be uploaded at 1080p, but you can see the interlace artifacts. tv broadcasts from this era will always be 480i. can't restore it, since that's the resolution it was recorded in.
I actually remember watching this race live and never forgot it because both Rossi and Biaggi crashed out. Man the days of the Rookie Doctor!! All those old school drivers! The bikes are so different now. But the battles have always been exciting as always. MotoGP still remains a very pure kind of racing.
even though he couldn't finish the race, I see a bright future for kid no 46. My predictions for him: 1. Win 199 podiums 2. Win 9 times world championship
I dont even remember this race which makes sense coz I was 4 years old when this happened. It was also my first year watching MotoGP. But man that was one epic race and Loris Capirossi really deserved it. Leading more than 80% of the race, letting Rossi through only to fight it back and that last lap with Biaggi. He was the one with nerves of steel. Truly an Italian classic. Brava!
You realise they use way less electronic aids these days than they did 6 years back right? It only slows them down, wings have made sure they can use more natural power than traction control.
New fan of MOTOGP racing coz I have heard a lot about THE DOCTOR VR46 and wanted to watch his racing career from the starts so watched these race and I was so positively thinking that he is surely going to win this race but when I saw him fail i was so upset and deep down shocked because I had a Legendary image of him in my mind after hearing about him as a world champion and all impact he has left on whole world but after seeing him lose on these race now i'm really more curious to watch his comeback from that ,and in my personal POV I would say for this race LORIS CAPIROSSI deserves this Win,He did really Well to WIN IT. ❤
This bikes were the real deal i rather watch the past than today’s , the moto gp bikes just have no soul, beginning with the electronics all the way to the wings. The dying championship wsbk is much more interesting than moto gp
MotoAmerica is a great series to watch too. They race on some pretty cool tracks around the US. Danilo Petrucci actually just joined this year and he's doing really well
@@lmazzar I agree. I was at the race on Sunday and even at the podium ceremony it was unclear exactly what had happened. I'm hoping this can be a learning experience for MotoAmerica. They released a statement today which I thought was okay. Maybe they need to bring in someone from a bigger racing series to help oversee the safety of the races.

500cc gp in 1080p what more could one want? It's a thing of beauty. 🤘😎🤘

Agreed. It's got a bit of everything. Fast flowing corners, elevation changes and that massive straight. Brilliant 👍

Its not prediction coeegg...😅😅😅 but reality
Back in the days when current gen MotoGP riders such as Quartararo, Pecco, Bastianini, Mir, Martin and Marini were still toddlers.
If those guys would try and ride those 2 stroke beasts with no electronics they won't last a curve HAHAHAHHA
How did you knwo
Exactly
@@alextozzi8619sauf Marc Marquez 🤣
Who are they .....i just got back after 30 years away from motogp 😂😂😂😂
This is the wild west of motorcycle racing. No rider aids and most wicked engines ever slapped in a bike. Long live the 2 stroke
Amen!
Grande Loris, grandísimo!!! Que pilotazo era, ganando con una honda satélite a todas las oficiales. Bellissima gara maestro!!!
So great to see this race again, thanks so much.
why not mandalika???

I love 2 stroke 😍
I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning, it smells like powerband 😻😻😻
nobody needs 4stroke motorcycles for racing...
This is pure race, the riders really really use their skill without helped by the electronic devices.

They still use ALOT of electronics. Not even close to the pure 500 and 250 real race bikes
Awesome! Awesome Race!! real motogp history
This is Motogp 🔥

Back in the day
No electronics
No launch control
No RHA
No anti wheelie
Pure skill and talent
I was thinking about them better not touching the green patches on the track but then remembered there was no BS back in the day..

After this season it was the moment i lost intrest in the 500CC and later the MotoGP. After years Stoner came it went back up.
WOWWW DRAMATIC RACE
One of the most attractive race in history
there are older ones with rainey, schwantz and co. even more exciting...
When rider all out control the bike , with out electronic assist.. great skill will be a champion
Why isn't this got in the "Magic Mugello moments" vid? This one is awesome tho, the 3 Italian battles!
What a race amazing soooooo gooood
Rossi mirip pedro acosta di tahun debutnya 🔥
BRING BACK TOBACCO SPONSORS !!!!!!!!!!
And grid girls!
Two Stroke (POWER OF ENGINE) ... waaaaoooooo,,,, power full ,,👍

The Golden Era of MotoGP #VR46
すげえバトルだ、懐かしい
Это фантастика!!!
Awesome
Best motorsport ever. 125cc had the best battles.
look at the difference between then and now, tight tight grouping early passing, 1-12 is like 1.5 seconds.. far better racing
I think you’ll find the gap between first and last was far greater back then.
@Emily Emily
Apa yang👈
Im watching this race on television.
That Yamaha colour scheme has to be the nicest bike ever put on a grid 😊
The saddest day in motorsport when the two strokes ended. Now a lap top sets up the bike whilst electronics ride the bike.
nobody needs 4stroke racing...
Wow classic
Kenny Roberts Jr didnt get enough credit for what he did on the Suzuki RGV.

Wish i bought all these old bikes when they were cheap. Man
