I am making Fauxdori covers like this. Except I get 2 covers from each placemat by cutting it in half. Sure wish I had more of those lovely Dollar Tree brown pattern placemats though--those are the best! These are so easy to make & they work as well as leather, without the expense. Pockets can easily be installed in the inside of the covers. I often staple them, as I kind of like the "steampunky" look of that.
This is amazing! I used to have this idea before, but I was wondering it would be practical or not. Now I can't wait to try placemat. Thanks for the video!
I wasn't sure that it would hold up, but I've been using it a bit for my art journal and seems to be working great! Another commentor mentioned that she uses regular placemats (like thicker ones) and they work just as well but I haven't tried one yet. Let me know how yours goes! :)
Yes, the coolest thing about the Midori style of binding is that you can make & use ANY sort of paper you want to! I use plain, lined, quad, coffee-stained, sketch and watercolor/cardstock to make my own inserts.
What are the measurements of the cover? And have you got a video for the inserts for this cover? Id like to try this but not sure on the measurements because I dont have a madori to outline this will be my very first..
Unfiortunately, I do not have the measurements for this cover since I traced one I already had. However, I believe it's roughly Cahier size. Here's a link to a site that has all the measurements for the different sized notebooks: growingupgoddess.com/blogs/news/guide-to-travelers-notebook-sizes Hope this helps! As for the inserts, I basically did the same thing with tracing, but if you have your cover, you could use a folded piece of paper to make a basic template of your insert size (be sure to make it a little smaller than your cover): th-cam.com/video/0XFFfuEYqhk/w-d-xo.html Or if you make a cover one of the standard sizes in the first link I shared, you can easily buy inserts for it online. :)
do you think you can do a no sew A6 faux Dori travelers notebook with rounded corners an the doubled sided fusible pellon with 4 strings an eyelets an maybe talking through the step by step tutorial it would definitely be appreciated much do thank you in advance
I tried to glue on a pocket but could not get the glue to stick I even used tacky glue I see you used tacky glue ,maybe I didn't let it dry long enough.
You can slow the speed of the video using the icon that looks like a gear wheel at the bottom of the screen . Also you can just pause the video & go back & replay as much as you need. I do that a lot sometimes, if I think I've missed something. No worries!

Why didn't you go sideways and make two covers? You had enough to make two 🤔. And it IS pretty.
I liked the pattern this way, haha.
cute
Love

Yeah, I find that tacky glue takes longer to dry than I have patience for, haha.
i liked the idea when i saw the title but sadly I couldn't get past 37 secs because of how fast everything was moving.
TH-cam has an option (Playback speed) to slow down the video. I use it all the time.
I love the tutorial but everything is done so fast pace. Please slow down
