Okay, after getting plenty of feedback I understand a lot of you don’t like the English Dub, & because you made this my most popular video on this channel so far, I’ve remade this anime compilation in Japanese Sub. I decided to cut some parts out that I feel didn’t really need to be in here. I also decided to add an extra scene that I forgot to put due to me being a doofus. This is one of the best english dub's of all, and Rikka's VA is known to be perfect for the job. I tried listening to the sub but Rikka's VA just sound's like any other japanese moe VA...
It sounds odd and doesnt portray her well at all, in my opinion. The voice she was given would definitely fit a more "bad ass" character. Perhaps a female Kirito from SAO or anything similar. Rikka is such a well known character for all the cute and silly things she does. A matching vocal just tops it off, which the dub failed to do. No one has ever complained about a cute voice in anime. But now share real opinions about this one and all everyone can do is talk shit. Its like they think we are ignorant and take absolutely no thought in our preference. I mean, i dont hate it but- id prefer a cute voice man. Fits Rikka so much better and we know it. Her archetype and personality are just so cute, and high pitched voices are cute too. Plain and simple.
He did everything correctly, or else Rikka would have remained passive if Her Hero is always saving the day. Sometimes the guy has to step to the sidelines or else she will never be the one to find out what it’s like to face conflicts head on and come to a resolution. Everything worked out perfectly and they grew to love each other more.
The voices, they do not suit the characters. And the dialogue is different, rather than being translated that the "mouth flap" excuse is unacceptable since even the Japanese syllables do not match the looping animations either.

She’s adorable as shit in the English how she uses a pretend deep voice when she’s acting all Chunibyo then whenever something significant happens or when she’s with Yuta her true voice comes out. meg Mcdonald killed this role i fell in love with this character and her voice acting put this over the edge for me one of the few times where the dub is better then the sub
Rikka's face turns red two times in the Episode 3 of Season 2 though, but I can feel that the second time could be a little bit darker than the first one. To whom it may concern, the first one is from embarrassment, and the other (which is this) is by being jealous after all. Awwww, she's cute. AF
I think the English Dub fits the Chuunibyou aspect of what this anime is getting at. While at the same time keeping it more like a high school anime, cause it’s partially a high school anime.
Unpopular opinion. I don't actually mind this Dub. It's not on Yu Yu Hakusho levels of dub (best dub I've ever heard) but, it's not 1999 Hunter X Hunter levels of dub either. Amusingly, they're both from the same creator.
I may be biased because I already knew Margaret McDonald (Rikka) from another work, but still, I did like this dub. It clearly marks that each character can have different voice according to the situation. When shy or sad, Rikka sounds adorable and when talking about her powers or fighting she sounds determined and mature (even if it's completly te opposite, but it shows conviction in what she does). Yuuta has an amazing voice in the dub, firm and stern when holding down Rikka yet soft when talking his feelings. The voice that can cause more problems is Dekomori, but then again she is a character written to be hyperactive. I prefer dub over sub on this case, but to each their own, I'm not going to hate someone because of how he watched the anime, I could instead appreciate that someone else watched this anime, which I believe is all about.
I generally prefer dubs, and this is no different. In my opinion, it was rather refreshing to hear a different kind of voice from Rikka, so that she doesn't sound just like every other anime high school girl out there. Plus, the VA does a great job hitting all the right inflections.

I remember the scene when Yuuta was having dirty thoughts about Rikka, and in the original Rikka sounded...waaaay to young, while in the dub, the VA gave Rikka a seductive voice, according to the context. It's all about preferences really, I liked the dub. But the important part is that I liked the anime itself.

Don't say that is a sub thing because subtitles can have inaccurate translation too, the same way as dubs do. "Onna onna onna onna onna" does not translate to "That dirty little filthy pervert."

The voices match the characters pretty well for them being 16, in Dub or English it matches the way things sound and in sub the voices sound like what they would've maybe a little younger for the girls but it still matches pretty well, different areas bring different voices but to some degree they are still accurate to one another. It's a preference thing but the voice acting is good on both forms people need to stop the hate and appreciate that they've watched the same show and liked it as well.
Listen I'm just saying I didn't have a high pitched voice when I was 16 and none of my friends did either. By that age you're a Sophomore in high school at most, and I don't know about the rest of you, but well over 90% of my classmates and such all had voices fitting their respective gender. Deep and strong for most of the guys, soft and fair for most of the girls. An argument could be made for having a voice that doesn't quite fit a character, but even then that's realistic, as I for one got that a lot growing up
I don't care what others think of the dub, I enjoy the fact that these characters actually sound like teenagers and not whiny little shits like in the sub.
Oh and the fact that this dub only gets praise when modern gaming industry decided to cut corners at voice acting departement (*cough* Forspoken, Saints Row '22 *cough*) is just a testament of how this dub was basically what Gundam Seed Destiny to the English dub anime fans, 8 years later
this anime dubbed is so perfectly, whereas i can’t even listen to toradora dubbed. rikka and all the other characters all speak how i expect the characters to be talking.

I honestly love rikkas voice actor and I think her “moans” are a lot cuter than the sub
I don't care what others think of the dub, I enjoy the fact that these characters actually sound like teenagers and not whiny little shits like in the sub.
Oh and the fact that this dub only gets praise when modern gaming industry decided to cut corners at voice acting departement (*cough* Forspoken, Saints Row '22 *cough*) is just a testament of how this dub was basically what Gundam Seed Destiny to the English dub anime fans, 8 years later
this anime dubbed is so perfectly, whereas i can’t even listen to toradora dubbed. rikka and all the other characters all speak how i expect the characters to be talking.
