@@trickyrickymtb5622 Thank you for the fast feedback. Did you also change the rear shock? I also ordered the Neuron ON 8.0 and I'm really excited. Which pedals did you mount?
@@NilsMcFly No, I'm a fan of the Fox DPS, I find it really easy to get dialled in and very supportive in the mid stroke. That's why I went with the 8.0. I really like the Oneup composite flat pedals, nice big platform and quite slim, what do you use?
@@trickyrickymtb5622 OK. That sounds good with the rear shock. How do you like the stock FOX 34? I'm still unsure about the pedals. I can't choose between the OneUp Comp, Reverse Escape, Shimano PD-GR 500 and Shimano Saint.
@@NilsMcFly I think the fox 34 is a solid trail fork, but not ideally suited to heavy ebikes (a bit too flexy). Canyon don't even spec an ebike specific 34, hence me purchasing the 36 for last years Neuron ON (transferred to this bike). The oneup comps are an awesome pedal, plus, not too pricey; think.. Raceface Chester but better IMO.
Very nice bike and video.👍🏻 I am waiting for my Neuron ON 8.0 AMP Orange, my first E-bike. Now I don`t think I`ll be disappointed.😊 I am 173 and went for the S.
Actually I sold the neuronON after the warranty issues, as I'd bought a Jam2 in the interim. Loving the Focus. Actually tempted by the Levo SL or Orbea Rise as a light weight option
@@trickyrickymtb5622 thanks, just watching your other videos now.. :) as i was initially after a hardtail (grand canyon, or the orbea wild HT 20). but was checking neuronON last night... so, still undecided now haha
@@TheWeardale1 sorry if I've muddied the waters lol. To be fair I did love the Canyon and they do make really nice bikes. I just feel like the build standards have dropped of late. Also the new ep8 models are much heavier. If your not against carbon the Orbea wild FS is a decent shout. If your in the 130 travel region I'd also consider the Focus Thron, that's a pretty lively ride. Pity at the moment they are all hard to get hold of.
@@trickyrickymtb5622 no worries :) I'm upto your last video now...i was looking at a focus yesterday, but wasn't the jam2...but i'm not sure if I even need a full sus as i tend to ride mainly trails and a few rocky tracks etc too...
I'm 6ft, but with this I think a more important measurement is inside leg. It has a relatively long seat tube and I had the dropper down to the collar. I'm 84cm if that helps.
21:9 ... why? Doesn´t make a shacky footage any more cinematic 😉 and doesn´t fill the screen on the Smartphone. Maybe 18:9? This ergo-Grips look so displaced on this bike - but contact points are a real individual topic and you have to be comfortable with it 👍🏻
Yeah, I've actually just switched to the ergon GA3 grip on my Escarpe, but the GP3 grips do an excellent job of minimizing numbness and fatigue. I actually like them and think the grey/black matches the bike well. Appreciate they are not everyone cup of tea however.
I'm 6ft (183cm) and I feel like it fits me well. The Neuron ON is a trail bike, so the relatively short reach (455cm) suits the bikes intended use. The 74.5deg seat tube angle leads to a very comfortable seated position. Hope that helps.
Can I ask how tall you are? You were recommended a M and I'm recommended a L so I'm wondering if I should go XL. I know the reach is shorter on this closer to XC than trail. I'm 6'2 and as it's all online I want to make sure I get the correct size. Cheers
Can you please tell me what's your height?, and how big was the change from M to L frame size for you . Thank You! You can find magnets that can be installed on any 6 bolt brake disks like this one: www.ridewill.it/p/en/switch-2408a-e-bike-magnet-sensor-rear-disc-mount-type-a/753824/ So you can use any ice tec rotors , also at the 520 calipers you can fit saint/zee fin pads
Hi, I am 6ft/183cm with an inside leg of 84cm. Canyon recommend size medium for me, but large definitely is better fit. I would say inside leg is the important factor given the height of the seat tube at 480cm. Thanks for the info re the brake rotors, but I have ordered a CL wheelset.
@@trickyrickymtb5622 Hi, at 183 make sense to go with L ( 183- 194 ) for Neuron , but I think for the actual geometry of the bikes, the top tube length and the reach are more important than the height of the seat tube, because this two dimensions will actually give you the body position on the bike, and this will be more or less comfortable. No matter how long the seat tube is, after the seat post height adjustment you will have the same length between the saddle and bottom bracket. If you take in consideration Mondraker Chaser, M frame size have a 420mm seat tube, a 473 reach, 622mm top tube and a 30mm stem, Neuron ON L is 480mm seat tube, 455mm reach, 617mm top tube and a 60mm stem, I think the body position on the two bikes is almost the same but they have 60mm seat tube difference. I'm 180cm and 85cm inside leg, Mondraker recommend L size frame for me .... there is no way I can ride that bike, I saw it, is huge for me. I like a more relaxed upright position to take away some of the lower back pressure. Anyway I'm waiting your Neuron On full review I might go for one ... Kind Regads!
@@vladsebastian2571 all very valid points that I agree with in terms rider position on most bikes, but my point about the seat tube length relates to this bike and any with longer seat tubes, with longer dropper posts. At 150mm drop, this bike would not fit if your inside leg is less than 84cm. Rider position is irrelevant in this case. After that the general rule around reach etc.. comes into play. Hope that makes sense?
Apologies didn't read the second half of your comment. At 180 height and 85 inside leg, both medium and large would fit. However, your preference for a more relaxed riding position, coupled with the longer 60mm stem, I would suggest medium might be a better option. Hope that helps. Will post updates as I go, but I want some time with the bike in order to put out a considered long term review.
Apologies for the misty image quality part way through. These are just my first impressions, look out for a more in-depth review coming soon.
Can you fit 36 or 38 chainring on Neuron ?
I am a bit confused. The Neuron ON always has only 130 mm of travel. Did you install the FOX 36 or did the bike come from Canyon?
Hi, I already had a 140 travel 36 which I installed. You are correct in thinking its 130mm travel across the board.

I'm 6ft 183cm. My previous gen Neuron ON was a medium and too short for me. I look at inside leg when looking at canyons due their long seat tubes.
Does the battery come out easy for charging?
Yes very simple, unlock and it drops slightly, then theres a spring catch that releases the battery in a controlled manner
