Son Doong Cave - Day 2 - Entering Son Doong

  • Day 2 was breathtaking, leaving the huge back entrance of Hang En and crossing through jungle and descending into the mouth of Son Doong. Most impressive sight of today though, was seeing the first doline of Son Doong. A collapse likely millions of years old, light streams down and gently illuminates our 2nd campsite of the tour.

    We'll be doing it, In 2024!! We've got reservations. SO excited to experience this otherworldly dream. Both the challenge and the awe-inspiring sights seem to warrant a bucket-list item. Thanks for sharing your great video. I want to sit on that "wedding cake" formation...

    Unreal footage mate. Commenting all the way from Australia. What I want to know is who takes all the photos with you in it? It’s obviously not you is it? Hahaha. Keep it up man. Love the videos. Can’t wait for more.

    Awesome videos of your trip! If you don’t mind me asking, what kinds of cameras and video equipment did you bring and use. I’m just trying to get an idea what to buy for my trip. Thank you very much!

      I had a Panasonic gh5 with 2 batteries (but I'd take at least 3), a dji action camera, and my smartphone camera. I think i managed to cram a tripod in there as well

    7:56 that totally looked like a human sized entrance and I expected him to just walk out of there until I saw the tents

    I don't believe that this was only discovered in 1991. There is no way nobody had stumbled upon any of those dolines.
    The story about the discoverer forgetting where it was is ridiculous for a person that grew up in the forest.
    This is nothing more than a tourist grab.

    • @JoeSpinstheGlobe
      @JoeSpinstheGlobe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is evidence of ww2 bomb shells within one of the dolines, so if you count seeing it from the air, you're right. But otherwise the entrances to the cave are very small and unassuming, and very difficult to get to (especially before roads). Other caves in the area have evidence of humans being in them prior; this one did not. Believe what you like.
