For the price, I see why they made this expedition a very memorable one. Without those porters, a lot would not get done. Shout out to the porters. And thank you for posting your experience, awesome video.
Exactly. I'm incredibly impressed at how much they do for the visitors. If you enjoy hiking for a few days, this trip treats you like a king. No freeze dried food, AAA service, and just a good time with the card games and how much everyone looks out for eachother.
I did this same expedition a few months ago. We must have done it a few days apart. We even had to sit on that same beach for hours waiting for the water to go down. This is hands down the most incredible trip anyone can do. It's genuinely life changing. If anyone has the opportunity to do this, do it. It will be tough, but you won't regret a second of it.
@viperonfire2006 I don't think you need to be very experienced. But you do need to be fairly comfortable with things like heights. There are a lot of times where you are walking along sheer ledges you can barely see the bottom of with your headlamp. I'm not in good physical shape, but I didn't have any problem physically completing the trip. The toughest part for me was the mental challenge of having wet feet constantly. If you hike occasionally and have done rock climbing a few times, you should be fine. Oxalis is incredibly helpful if you have any questions. They answer emails quickly and have tons of information about every aspect of the trip on their website.
@timmehtizzle That part is the Great Wall of Vietnam. There is some near-vertical climbing at the end, but it isn't particularly difficult. I only have some basic/casual rock climbing experience and it was easy. Especially with how much the safety team helps you. It definitely takes a bit of upper body strength, but anyone who is in average physical shape should be able to do it. There is a bit of near-vertical climbing down into the cave as well, but that is even easier.

you are not paying only for the expense, You are paying for the locals to sustain the cave, keep it the way it is, paying for other research and study about the ecosystem in the cave (Son Dong is so isolate that it has its own ecosystem unlike anywhere in the world) , paying for all the supporters, volunteers, people who truly love the nature beauty to step up and against those capitalist corporation - whom are still trying to build a cable cap, or put the cave in full open, selling ticket into the cave just to destroy it (it happens just a few years ago).
