The best idol girl group when it comes to dancing. Their rap and vocal line are both great. They're neither kpop nor jpop. They call themselves a global girl group.
The official MV and live performance of Left Right is really good.
Totally agree though that's completely underselling what an absolute masterpiece of art it is.
It's worth doing a very deep dive into XG. Your jaw will remain on the floor. XG is the sound I've been waiting for for over 30 yrs now. I'm just shocked at the amount of talent in these very young beautiful ladies. I cannot believe I'm a Gen X ALPHAZ

Anti-fragile has a afro-Latin vibe while Tippy Toes sounds more R&B to me. I agree, the chorus does sound very similar but they are both great songs!
They sing in English because that's the language that's most universal(their producer mentioned this). But the girls can speak Japanese, Korean and English to varying degrees. They do promote in Korea. They go on music shows and it's a good strategy since Korean music shows are accessible. They have a small Korean fanbase at the moment. They also get hate in Korea because some Koreans think they're "using" K-pop for their own gain but that's far from the case. They have also done interviews with some US radio shows. The best one to react to is the "Ask Us Anything" video, which is 15 minutes long. You can get an idea of their dynamic and personalities. They also did a video for the React channel that's very funny as well.
The reason for the attention is their songs have gone viral in places like TikTok. And you're right, they come off more of a regular girl group than a K-pop one. You should check out their dance, singing and rap covers. The latter of those went viral at the end of the year.
Also, their label is XGALX. It's a label underneath Avex, a big Japanese entertainment company. They have no ties to YG.
And people need to remember that xg isn't either a jpop or kpop group.
They're promoting as a Global Girl Group
Avex, the parent to XGALX, does have ties to YGE They are the Japanese market distributor for some YGE groups, going back to Secthkies, 2EN1, etc, and was for Blackpink until BP signed up with Interscope Records a year or two after they debuted, to get better access to the US market. Interecope is a division of Warner Music congolmerate, one of the 3 biggest record labels in the world that control about 67% of the global music industry.

Since 2017 it has been the 7 of them as well as Hikaru from Kepler.. also the girls are fluent in Korean English and Japanese
Tippy Toes debuted in March 2022. LE SSERAFIM debuted in May 2022. That would mean Tippy Toes was already written, songs already recorded in studio, choreography already rehearsed, including the Ta Ta Ta intro and the floor work that makes you think of Fearless. The M/V, dance practices filmed and then gone into post production, editing and finalized before the debut. That M/V on top of their pre debut Intro dance solos, song duet cover, two group dance performances. Many probably filmed in late 2021. If you think the intro of Fearless sounds and looks similar to Tippy Toes, you can sub the song Tippy Toes while watching the Fearless M/V and it matches nearly perfectly. Weird yes. When Fearless came out, I immediately thought the reverse. I thought wait, what? Fearless intro looks and sounds like Tippy Toes? Songs are often written long before they make it into the studio. XGs producer Simon Jakops was working on the song Shooting Star in 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.
They “blew” up when they went viral for there tape 2 cypher which u should totally watch. I put blew in quotes bc their company is actually a rlly big company and houses very famous Japanese stars. But the cypher got them a lot of attention globally
XG's label XGALX is a subsidiary of the huge Japanese company avex.
In addition to Japanese artists, avex also manages K-pop groups such as EXO, NCT 127, NCTDream, Big Bang, and BLACKPINK in Japan.
XG is just a HIPHOP/R&B group.
The reason they are promote on Korean music shows is because copyright in Japan is strict and XG debuted as a global group.

You keep trying to find anything similar to other groups to prove I don't know what. When I see in the title "reaction to xg" I expect you talking about them and not comparing them to everyone else, first lesserafim then the lyrics to another group, and, even if you didn't say it, it was clear that you were disappointed when you found out that their song dropped before the lesserafim's one so you couldn't accuse them of copying.
You've been reacting to kpop for a long time, you know how it works, why didn't you, during the video, search some information about them before reacting.
This video was disrespect from beginning to end, I don't know why, probably because they're different from the other groups or they're not from a big company. I don't know what excuse you will come up with, but I'm curious.

They are from Avex company (Japan) the producer is Simon he is half Japanese-Korean, all the members Japanese
and two of them half Japanese-Australian and Japanese-Korean, they are known as International GG that's why
their song lyrics mostly in English some mix in Japanese or Korean in rap part.
Their songs are in English. They only sing and rap in Japanese/korean/English on their rap and vocal performances.

well, Tippy Toes date release was March 18, 2022. while Antifragile date release was October 17, 2022. so it was almost a 7 months interval. which means, if there's something similarity in this one, we knew who is who is copying here. 🦊

You should watch both the MV and live performance of Left Right. Also XG girls also speak Korean since they trained in S Korea for at least a year already.
Both co writers are american songwriters for tippy toes and mascara..
XG is a Global Hip hop and R&B group, that's why they sing in English and their music is heavily influenced by Western (mainly American) music. They're Japanese but their producer has said (twice already) that they're not a J-pop or kpop group.
They are under XGALX, a subsidiary of Avex, which is the company that trained them from the beginning.
All of them can speak Japanese, English and korean, but the only fluent in English is Maya (she attended an international school in Japan). Harvey is half Australian but was born and raised in Japan, she lived in Australia for a while as a child but forgot everything so she is one of the least fluent😅

Thanks for the Deep dive. XG is the future. They're singing in English to appeal to a wider audience. They are a global girl group and don't want to be pigeon-holed into J-pop or K-pop just because they're Japanese.
BTW, in reference to tippy toes, "church" is slang initially popularized by Snoop Dogg, which means preach or amen. Basically, emphasizes agreement, or you're speaking the truth.
In reference to the chorus for mascara, "it's my party I can cry if I want to", is just a sample of a very old song that has been sampled many times.
XG has love and affinity for late 90s and early 2000s R&B and Hip Hop music and it's reflected in their songs and even their cyphers.

I enjoyed your reaction - I feel like many reactors are just super-positive about everything all the time, whereas I felt like you were really going through the journey of thinking through whether you liked XG and then learning more and more about them throughout the video. I hope you will go back and react to more from them - I think they're a really talented and sweet group, and I've enjoyed their growth over the past year from Tippy Toes through Shooting Star and Left Right. Regarding a mini-album, people are hopeful due to a spoiler from one of the members in a recent interview with Kpop Herald. However, other members quickly jumped in to say it might be just another single ( th-cam.com/video/9e_BUrF-_IE/w-d-xo.html ) In the same interview (at the 1:51 mark), they mention that a documentary about the 5 years before they debuted was filmed. No dates have been released, but the 1 year anniversary of their debut is coming up this Saturday, March 18th, so some people are hoping that might be the release date. I'd love to see you react to the Left Right M/V, and some of the dance practices. They also have a series of videos highlighting different aspects of the team - XG MOVE videos are dance performances, XG VOX videos are covers by the vocal line, and XG TAPE videos are from the rap line that you might enjoy. Tippy toes was released on March 18, 2022 even BEFORE Le Sserafim's debut. I really liked your reaction but I think is a little indelicate to keep raising questions (2 or 3 times) about a group (whatever it is) have copied another before you make a research about it 😟 people might believe it
Fun Fact: AntiFragile premiered on OCT 2022, XG's Tippy Toes debut was released on MAR 2022 and they are managed by XGLAX, they don't categorised themselves under the so-called KPOP "framework" coz all their songs are in English. I hoped by now you've dived more into XG on who they are, pretty sure some comments are a tad bit judgemental or stereotyped, especially coming from a self-proclaming KPOP mom 🤣. I think XG is under a mixture Avex (Japan) and YG (S.Korea) as the resulting collab between this two companies and they called that XGALX... Someone correct me if i'm wrong but that is what i did understand
