Hi Everybody, Thanks for checking out the video! Let me know what you think of the ALP 4K Premium Starter Models, do you think this is a good option for people who don't want the extras the original model has and want to get in at a lower price point?
Locking out OTG and External Applications behind a pay wall? This stuff is already built into the software, AtGames removing the topper to save a few bucks fine, but dicking around with the software? This is terrible.
I guess the idea is that not everyone is going to use the feature and if there are people out there not interested and can save $100? I was told this was a retailer requested feature

I wish they had a blank one without any game graphics on it. What I love about my ALU is that it's a plain black arcade with my BitPixel showing what's playing. The idea of playing a bunch of other games in something that is SO branded (Addams Family for example) is a no-go for me. I am probably the minority - I am not looking to build a home arcade and just want something that looks cool in my space that stands alone.
Paywall that’s a no go. This is the main reason to get this unit is OTG. Tables I’m ok with because the tables aren’t for everyone. I do think the factory direct is a great option should have been like that from the start.
Going forward, will all 4KP owners have to be connected to the internet to use OTG so AtGames can verify their machine? If so, doesn't a required internet connection defeat the purpose of why some people choose to go OTG?
Maybe this small detail will be in part 4 of the MBTGG/AtGames Infomercial? The word 'each' is so small it is easily missed I guess. It's EACH and the "savings" he is selling to his viewers are completely wrong.
I procrastinated on getting the original because I was sure it would go on clearance. But the one week that I wasn’t watching SlickDeals every day, Sam’s Club sold them for $120. After seeing that, I turned up my nose at all the $350 sales as other stores cleared them out. With this deal on the 4K, every time I’m toying with pulling the trigger on the fully decked out model, I start looking at the cheaper models and thinking maybe I could settle for the cheaper model. After agonizing for a while, I start thinking that $2000 is getting kinda close to the price of one of the amazing cabinets from Xtreme Gaming Cabinets. Plus, getting one of those would also cover the PC upgrade that I’ve been toying with doing. Ultimately, I just end up not going for anything. I have a feeling that I’ll just end up getting the basic model and finally remember that the only thing that really matters is enjoying the games.
Sorry but is not "apple's to apple's" the cost would be more considering if you buy the games separate. It would cost more in the long run to buy this , if you plan to buy the extras later,
So they can mess with the software to put paywalls up but yet cant get the software not to have lag...Got it.... I'm not giving them a dime until the lag is fixed, period...no one should pay for junk that doesnt even work right.
Definitely not a apple to apples savings like he says. You pay more in the end for less features. The starter tables appear to only come with the theme table and extra features are listed as $100 each.
AtGames will f*ck this up like they do everything. They can’t fix what they currently sell and now want to make paywalls to access the software? I predict they will soon lock out their current 4K owners from OTG and want them to pay as well.
Hey Mike I already own 4k adams but if I bought a attack from Mars with one game could I use the packs I already bought on the attack from Mars or do I have to buy packs for both?
Just as long as you selected for the table packs to be paired to your account, rather than being paired to the machine, you can load tables on whatever machine is currently using your account. Tables can only be accessed on one machine at a time. Kinda annoying, but at least it’s not as bad as Nintendo-style DRM.
This may just apply to August 2024. But I may have a better option. I just went into the phase one shopping cart. It would be $1200 including shipping. No Taxes added. So A true 1200 shipped. This model will not have the topper or the OTG mode and only 1 table and will ship in about a month according to their calendar. . If I go to Kohls website, they have the Adams family in stock that includes the OTG, the topper and 15 tables. The price is $1700, but you get 10 for every $50 in Kohls cash. SO that's $340 back, plus they have 5% other reward which will basically offset the tax. It is another option to consider for sure. It's quicker, more compete, could be returned to the store if there is a problem, but you do need to initially spend more and find something you want to buy with the Kohls cash.
Just my opinion but with all the glitches, flipper lag etc and from my experience with the ALP arcade control panel going out after 15 plays and hearing others experiences these products do not last long at all. It’s just not worth the prices they are after. I’m holding out till I find a cheap local marketplace listing. Sucks I’m wanting them to do much better quality wise, it’d be worth it 100% with that in mind.
The control panel went out with the original pinball machine as well. I can say that from experience, because it happened to me (and it's real annoying).
@@leefarley9602 I did, I purchased 3 new cables and zero luck. Reached out to At Games and did the control panel update. It is the control board for the panel. The sad thing is I asked if it was an upgraded board vs mine (shown a pic of the version to them) they beated around the bush and said it’s the right one for the panel and only a 30 day warranty 🤦♂️. Sorry but that’s a crappy warranty they offer. I guess that’s where they make their money.
Apparently I am in the minority but makes sense for me. I have no interest in doing OTG or BYOG. I don’t care about the ships on the speaker grills or the other crappy games it came with. The topper is the only thing but can always purchase down the road to make the initial investment less. I will be picking up the AFM starter when available. I would be afraid to do the direct from China shipping though. I can’t even imagine how messed up it would arrive.
Deleting the topper to save up front I get. Locking out OTG I don’t quite get, especially having to pay to unlock it…just don’t use it if you don’t want to. And only 1 game is silly imo. It doesn’t cost Atgames any money to include the other tables available on the regular 4K. Factory direct option seems decent for only having it wait an additional few weeks. Oh well….this one just isn’t for me.
You simply cannot bring yourself to say the word 'each' can you? You know it's there. You can see it. You know we can see that you can see it. But it just will not take form in your mouth will it? You can even feel the energy shift in you as you ignore this tiny four-letter word. What is your excuse going to be for skipping over it when you are finally forced to face it and finally say it?
I was beginning to question the value of this until you mentioned Legends Factory Direct. That definitely makes this a much better deal. I got lucky and got my Addams Family early, but it's great that AtGames is making this machine available to everyone for a much more attractive price (with Legends Factory Direct pricing, that is).
I don't think this is a good short or worse longtime choice for anyone. Unless they are clueless or really just want a barebone unit. Extra cost for games and separate additional shipping costs for potential addons is not worth it. The only way it "might" be is that you do direct and save another $150.
As it stands, charging for external apps when they have no apps and terrible support for developers are just scummy. The only external app is community made and putting it behind a paywall is ridiculous.
Well the salesman here doesn't want to touch that now does he? Pdubs at least shows some class in his comment whilst also appreciating the true implications of this change. But - what can you do - when it related to PINBALL MONEY?!
@MichaelBtheGameGenie I'm not not saying people shouldn't buy it, buy whatever you like. I just don't think it's a good look for AtGames. They took 15 games off of the machine, which is what, 3 packs worth at $35 per pack? More than enough to make up the $100 they removed, so no need to lock native features behind a software enabled pay wall.
That's almost a 40% discount your are suggesting for removing a topper and the otg functionality. I am assuming you think the price is just too high in general?
This business is going after it all wrong. They should be offer upgrades on powder coated legs, etc.. Make your profit off the people that want to spend money on the machines. Don’t be making your logistics and inventory a nightmare with all the model ad on changes. Keep your pricing structure at 1499 and 1999 w/the bi annual sale of 150 off. They need to get these pinball machines into Costco. Perfect market.
These will probably fail bigly. Just bring out a generic model like the ALPHD to retail centers. A gimped version seems an odd strategy. Betting most people will not notice and then find out when trying to do OTG.
So... The ONLY THING these machines are good for is behind a paywall... 😂😂 that you have to add$100 which brings the total to fall near the same price..... Honestly, I feel like this is At Games not understanding their audience. If you can't afford the machine at its regular price, a $250 drop won't be the difference that makes someone buy. As I've said in other comments...I'm holding out for "Indiana Jones" or "Twilight Zone". Once those are announced, I'd buy the full setup. But I'm not buying something that isn't exactly what I want for only a $250 discount.
When AtGames knew the full price was close to $2K, they should have immediately offered these options at that time. Those who would have bought at the lower price then have now already moved on.
