Actually, female and male BM vocals do sound distinctively different. Interestingly enough, I think female vox would work better in most BM albums. Great album as expected.
@@WinterForWolves I said not a gimmick. I would consider Myrkur, or at least her promoting herself as BM as a gimmick. She has 1-2 BM sounding songs per album but is not a BM band. Maybe it was her label's fault to position her that way, but still, left a bad impression with a lot of people.
@@Voidward I thought that's what you were implying. Myrkur had a sloppy, scattered start but I think she has proven to herself that she can make decent music and will continue to improve and evolve. She makes interesting Atmospheric/Folk BM.
This is one of my favorite albums of the last few years. First time i heard it i was like this dudes highs are perfect..then i realized its not dudes. Phenomenal band.
I feel like this is criminally underrated because its women. This is outstandingly good imo. Theres so much new BM out there but this band goes straight to the roots. Some of these riffs are DISGUSTING 🤘🏼 much love hope to see them live one day !
I can see they get lot of attention for being women, but also people don't take them seriously because of it. which is really sad because they have extremely good combination of talent and inspiration behind the music, which deserves the full recognition as itself without any stigmatization.
Had the pleasure to see them yesterday and it was an otherworldly experience. Tight, very clean sound that transferred an immense power, and a hypnotic stage presence. Excellent!
Really digging this album. Good, solid, black metal. Couldn't care less if the lineup is all male, female or mixed although it's cool to see women in extreme metal genres
I've always been a SIMP for female-fronted black metal bands, but an all-female black metal band. That's God-tier, hails to Black Metal Promotion for finding the good shit. 🤘🏽
it sort of does in the sense that some bands sell sex, but Asagraum has never been about that, just talented/skilled musicians who happen to be female. There is a difference, there's too much sex selling I think with female bands in rock and metal. I mean if that's what people want to do, that's their choice but it's hard to take it seriously if bands go that route.

I saw an interview with the singer, so I wanted to see what the band was worth. Personally, I have never given any importance to the fact that a group is composed only of guys or women, as long as the passion is present, that’s all that matters to me. I enjoyed what I heard here

Actually, female and male BM vocals do sound distinctively different. Interestingly enough, I think female vox would work better in most BM albums. Great album as expected.

@@WinterForWolves I said not a gimmick. I would consider Myrkur, or at least her promoting herself as BM as a gimmick. She has 1-2 BM sounding songs per album but is not a BM band. Maybe it was her label's fault to position her that way, but still, left a bad impression with a lot of people.
@@Voidward I thought that's what you were implying. Myrkur had a sloppy, scattered start but I think she has proven to herself that she can make decent music and will continue to improve and evolve. She makes interesting Atmospheric/Folk BM.
This is one of my favorite albums of the last few years. First time i heard it i was like this dudes highs are perfect..then i realized its not dudes. Phenomenal band.
Before this album, I couldn’t remember the last time a band made me feel like their music melted the skin and flesh off my face from the first second.

I feel like this is criminally underrated because its women. This is outstandingly good imo. Theres so much new BM out there but this band goes straight to the roots. Some of these riffs are DISGUSTING 🤘🏼 much love hope to see them live one day !
I can see they get lot of attention for being women, but also people don't take them seriously because of it. which is really sad because they have extremely good combination of talent and inspiration behind the music, which deserves the full recognition as itself without any stigmatization.

it sort of does in the sense that some bands sell sex, but Asagraum has never been about that, just talented/skilled musicians who happen to be female. There is a difference, there's too much sex selling I think with female bands in rock and metal. I mean if that's what people want to do, that's their choice but it's hard to take it seriously if bands go that route.
