I love that tip about using AUM to bring in other apps to provide sound for the touchscaper instruments. Also appreciate your explaining about that default sound, that it is actually two instruments (A and B, and that's why B is always locked) blending back and forth. Made lots of sense. And I'm with you. Not so keen on the MIDI stuff here. Mostly it's baffling, and I struggle to get it to work. But the way I can just put my hand on the glass and this incredible SOUND appears is just magic! touchscaper is one of the very best apps on iPad, imho.

After watching this, I've just now got Pure Piano to work properly with touchscaper for the first time, and with the new touchpad feature! 😱😃 I can play big-arse chords at one end of the bar without any thought, while I can noodle with melody notes at the other end, and it's all in key and sounds good WITHOUT ANY EFFORT!
Rob, dude! Any chance of a recording/export feature, maybe? I know I can export from AUM, but that's not always how I use the app.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the app with Pure Piano! I'll keep the recorder suggestion in mind, but can't say for sure if I'll get to it. In the meantime, there's a "hack" that I used a lot that you might be able to try. Basically if you do a screen recording then share the file, you can strip the audio from that, as it's decent quality and stereo. For example, on Mac, I just open the screen recording file with TwistedWave then save it as a .wav or .mp3

I really want this, as I think it is impressive. However, it seems like a daunting task to get into. Might get it anyway, just because it looks so cool! :-D
Edit: I caved, I bought it and I am seriously impressed! I will be watching this video over (and over) and try things out. Loooove it!!

Great tutorial, thanks so much! I have a question... my interface looks a bit different ‘cos I don’t have the bass button you used at the top of the chord strip, and mine also doesn’t have the toggle button near the bottom left. Was there an update recently? I don’t see one available for my version on the App Store.
I’ve had this app for ages and like to tinker with it but your tutorial has given me a nudge to do more with it. Cheers.

Hey I have a question. There is a new update on Drum Session but I don’t know if it’s saying that I have to delete it and re-download it and install it again so the update can work. Can you check it out let me know? It’s for iPhones or iPads thank you so much I really appreciate it
