    Thank you for your video, I stumbled upon it and I think it can be quite useful for beginners at latin dance, however I think you forgot to mention something quite important about why strappy shoes are the standard in latin danse - it’s because it allows for better flexibility of the front of the shoes so that the dancer can point their feet more comfortably.
    Flexibility of the shoe is something that is very important when doing latin dance because we dance on the ball of the feet, and a more flexible shoe allows for a more beautiful line of the feet when pointed and more confort. I think that information is important for a beginner choosing shoes.

      very good point about the flexibility! it does help to have a more flexible shoe, and I would agree that boots aren't as flexible as the strappy shoes. hope everyone reads this comment to make sure it is considered! thank you

    I don't actually know why I'm here 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 I don't plan on buying shoes at all 😂
    0:52 No. Can I stand in heels? No.
    Chunky heels seem safer
    I would've thought that the colour of the shoes should really complement the colour of the dress.
    I know I'm not exactly a dance judge, but... I was binge watching the Argentine tangos on Strictly, and I found there was one male professional who always seemed to wear trainers and my eyes were always drawn to them. But when I tried to remember to watch the others, my eyes weren't drawn to them.

      Chunky, small heel is definitely safer if you aren't used to heels. Thats interesting about the trainers - do u know who it was?

    This was super helpful! I am taking lessons soon and had already purchased a pair but according to everything you said in the video, I chose perfectly for myself. Bought strappys that I had to cut since there were a little too long. ☺️

    • @MarwaRamsiDance
      @MarwaRamsiDance  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! Yeah so the boot-type shoes are not good for flexibility at all. For more flexible shoes, you want to go for that classic latin shoe shape. The strappy ones. Most of them tend to be pretty flexible for a good point.

    So I get for beginners, strap shoes, not a very high heel, nude colors so people do not focuse on your feet. As a begineer taking salsa, chacha, east coast swing and tang... could I use the same shoes? Don't feel like doing a big investment as I am starting. Is it better open shoes to close shoes?

    • @MarwaRamsiDance
      @MarwaRamsiDance  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, yes you can use those shoes for those dances, but you might also get away with slippy trainers to start with, check with your teachers :)

    • @MarwaRamsiDance
      @MarwaRamsiDance  ปีที่แล้ว

      it's not as flexible as the standard strappy shoes but you can get a slight point, I wouldn't recommend if you have very flexible feet or you compete but they are good for social dancing, and practice

    Could i use 4inch Burju stilleto boot dance heels for salsa classes? I’m not a latin dancer but have a dance background in ballet/modern/contemporary/jazz so I have ample leg/foot strength, but would like to know if i’ll look silly wearing such shoes at a beginner salsa class.

    • @MarwaRamsiDance
      @MarwaRamsiDance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most people at my beginners class tend to wear trainers with worn down soles or shoes they can dance in rather than Latin heels because they are new/don't know what to wear. I always think its good to start wearing heels as soon as possible because it makes the dancing easier and the getting used to them easier.

    • @MarwaRamsiDance
      @MarwaRamsiDance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      However, you could always go and wait a few weeks to see what the vibe is (and if u even want to continue learning this style) before investing in some shoes.

    The biggest issue I’m having is with size. I used the compete and it seems like shoe sizes are all different. I used to size down a half size but these days I’m finding they’re still too big! I have a wider front foot and a thinner heel. Do you have recommendations?

    • @MarwaRamsiDance
      @MarwaRamsiDance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Other than trying them on in store or making sure your online ones have a good returns policy, I'm afraid not. There isn't a standarised sizing that every retailer follows. Just when you find a good shoe that you love over a few months, order a few of them!

    Would you'd recommend boots or sandal heels for a beginner

    • @MarwaRamsiDance
      @MarwaRamsiDance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer boots for social dancing, but I did start with sandal heels and that worked fine for me. I think for this option pick the one you like the look of more. What's the most important for a beginner is the heel height, a small-medium heel is better :)

      @@gidzboxbox8839 depends how comfortable you are in heels already, 7.5cm is standard. If you are new, you could always try between 5 and 7cm :)
