i think part of the reason superman and the hulk are so much stronger here (aside from the power gained from the portal) is the fact that these are likely their comic book versions.
in the comics hulk and superman are way stronger than in the movies.
i even heard somewhere that the hulk gets stronger the more angry he is.
superman in the comics is also just ridiculously strong.
