Started following your channel. New to hobby. Still trying to decided which track to purchase 1/24 or 1/32. I like the 1/24 cars however it only allows four at a time to race. I saw you put 1/24 on your track. How many 1/24 cars can you run at one time? Do you just swap cars from 1/24 to 1/32 without any power supply or any other mods? I’m thinking of getting a 1/24 track that says you can run four 1/24 cars and then just start my collection of 1/32 cars. Would this work if I wanted to swap to race 6 1/32 at one time or is there a power supply or additional mods needed for consideration going between the two type of cars being ran on the 1/24 track?
Hi, so the good thing about Carrera track is that you can run 1/32 or 1/24… although you’d need a different power supply for the two scales, and the 1/24s you’d should run track shoulders because of the size. I run a omnislotbox with a variable power supply so I can adjust the power output for each scale. I’ve run 6 124 cars before with the power cranked it was okay, 4 ran perfect, 6 you can feel the cars were a tad down on power in my experience at least. For you to start, if you’re thinking that you’re going to want 1/24s regardless, then start with a 1/24 set and buy 1/32 cars as you go. It’s recommended to run the 1/32s on a 1/32 power supply. The 1/24 supply will make the 1/32s fly! Although I do know people running them that way with no issues but you still could run the risk of possibly burning them out. A good upgrade or set to look for is one with wireless controllers. It just makes life easier lol
I notice your track is against the wall ..how do you do maintenance on the parts that are unreachable...I'm planning on building a track and if its against the wall I can gain 1.5 ft on the track width..but the far side is out of reach ! I was thinking of cutting a service hatch on the far side ,so I could crawl under the table for maintaining the out of reach track .what do you think of this idea ? And how did you overcome this issue on this particular track ...thank you. Harry 👍
Hi slot_fan. I actually have left just enough room around the track for me to get there if I need to do any maintenance, marshal…etc. It’s tight on the back wall there but there’s just enough room to side step around. A service hatch sounds like a good idea, I’ve seen others utilize that.
@MPSlotCar thank you for your reply ...🤗 yes I noticed in a different post that you do actually have a little space 👍 I need to look into the hatch idea a bit more crawling under baseboard with my back problems might be interesting to say the least ..🫢😂
Will do!! All I did was oil up the axles, checked over all the screws to make sure everything is nice and tight from factory, then cleaned the tires and sent it. Usually I’ll do a bit of tire truing but for this I left them stock and just cleaned them before running.
I started with the 124 digital sets, two of them, and then later purchased the 132 power supply and 132 cars. The 124 sets are more expensive, but you get more for your money with all the shoulders and the wireless controllers (although some of the 132 sets have wireless controllers). Getting two sets also gave me a second control unit that I use to test cars or sand tires while on the cars. I find huge enjoyment in both 124 and 132, and love that Carrera offers both with the same track.
@@MPSlotCar I have an arc air base with ability to run pace car but not had it out yet. Will have to give it a go! I am guessing your running the magnet in the Ferraris?
Run all the cars to set new benchmarks for the new track. Awesome run with the new Ferrari 458.

you could tell the new car with new tires ...was sliding around the corners which is where you could have picked up a couple points on the times .
Yer I agree about running them all to see how they compare to each other and allows us to see the time difference between 1/32 and 1/24

I use to switch between the transformers for 132 and 124s now I have a variable power supply, still have the cars set to about 18-19volts

Absolutely run ALL of your 124th scale cars! What if anything did you do to the Carrera DHL Livery before you run it on your track?

So you didn't upgrade tires out of the box?
Typically I like running the cars box stock first then start with trueing the tires or upgrading to PG urethane tires.
That track is just damn fine 👌 I'm considering either 132 or 124 and this video made me start leaning towards 124 😅
