I love Lauri and The Rasmus. I love this song and how it combines the different vocals and cellos. Powerful to me.
The band was founded in 1993 in Helsinki. The founders were cello students at the University of Music (Sibelius Academy).
At first they played Metallica covers, but later they started composing their own music as well.
For the Metallica covers, they developed the cello playing to be more suited to metal music, in a way creating a slightly new way of playing the cello.
They all still play both classical and rock music.

There is 3 Finnish globally known top rock bands. You might even know them. HIM(Ville Valo lovemetal), Apocalyptica(cellometal trio) and The Rasmus(Lauri popmetal). HIM songs you should react: Join me or Wicked game... Apocalyptica songs: Metallica covers or Any of their top songs. The Rasmus songs: In the shadows or older songs top songs. Please react.

@@TheKillogicEffect Look at HIM first album. and all 3 bands Late 90´s and Early 2000 Song are the best. Apocalyptica almost everything are good. Feats etc. But Apocalyptica: nothing else matters was first that hit me.
Still one of my favorite songs by Apocalyptica, one of their great classics, with a beautiful melancholic touch that is part of Finnish culture. I love the Gothic and romantic atmosphere of this song and the cello melody is absolutely incredible. One of their best collaborations with Lauri Ylönen (singer of the Finnish band The Rasmus) and Ville Valo (singer of the Finnish band HIM, now disbanded but he has a solo career now). Lauri's and Ville's voices blend beautifully and create an amazing contrast, they sound perfect with Apocalyptica's cellos. I really recommend Apocalyptica (they are incredible also live), they started out many years ago with covers of Metallica and later developed their own style, creating what they defined "cello metal", combining classical music with metal music. The Rasmus are a great band too, the style is very different from Apocalyptica, and Ville Valo from HIM has a great voice. Depending on your mood and what you're looking for, if you want to check out other songs by Apocalyptica, these might be good choices to start with (all songs with official videos): covers: Nothing else matters and One (Metallica covers); Seemann feat. Nina Hagen (Rammstein cover); Path; I Don't Care, What we're up against feat. Elize Ryd (from Amaranthe) (their latest collaboration).

Are you familiar with Ville Valo´s former band HIM? If not, it would be awesome if you would do a reaction to some (or all of them🙈) songs from them. Hi man, apocalyptica made the first travels in my life so smooth, I loved their songs as a child also this song have a special place in my heart cause a french rapper made a song with this instrumental, (Furax Barbarossa - Fin 2012)
