About the book: The Imam, the Shaykh al-Islam Ibn al-Qayyim attempted to cleanse the book; ‘Manazil Al-Sa’ireen’ by Imam al-Harawi of the Sufis, who had aligned the text to their mystical beliefs and practices. He sought to make it a beacon of guidance and a pathway to the straight way of Allah by explaining and simplifying the text of ‘Manazil Al-Sa’ireen’, correcting errors, and clarifying misconceptions and excesses in which al-Harawi had indulged. In doing so, he elaborated on his refutations and clarifications, accompanied by heartfelt discussions imbued with valuable educational principles.
The author began his discourse with an exquisite and profound discussion on the opening of the book (Fatihah), addressing servitude (‘ubudiyyah). The book then unfolds into numerous chapters and stages of servitude.
This edition of the book, published by Dar ‘Ata’at al-‘Ilm, is known for its clear typesetting and careful editing, making it accessible and reliable for readers. It includes useful annotations and explanations that enhance understanding. However, this edition has become quite rare nowadays.
