I am quite amazed at how you have explored every nook and cranny of this lovely car. Bought a '99 XKR last summer and your videos make it that more fun to discover the car! Thanks!

I think jaguars are a bit like that though.
You could argue that a fast Toyota is a better drive, more reliable, etc.
Jaguars, Maserati, corvettes, and the like, are completely heart cars. And with them you start to enjoy the history, the faults, the unsual design choices almost as much as the drive and the looks.👍

thats for the handbrake tip - just picked up a 2002 XKR and thought the handbrake was faulty lol. My Porsche's over the years, 924. 944 and 968 had the hand brakes in the same position but operated conventionally - i.e. were raised when engaged.

Loving this series of videos! Just bought an XK8 coupe myself so will have to check the glovebox to see if these cubby holes exist on a 2004 model 👍 Also think the exhaust sounds great on your car, something that seems oh-so-quiet on mine! Subscribed!!!

Thanks granblogisimo. Jaguar missed a trick for about 10 years with their v8's by over silencing them. Nobody NEEDS a V8. The V8 buyer is going to be an enthusiast who wants their cat to growl.
Thankfully they now put 'Loudeners' rather than silencers on their V8's and screaming six's.

Interesting. I dont recall my US import having the same paperwork? I purchased the 03 in early 05, so I would think it would still be present. Ill check and repost.

Saved me a trip. I know I have the service book with stamps, but never noticed the radio code card or the folder in which it was contained. The Rovers (06) also have the little cubby/shelf for the handbook. Maybe I need to look again after all..@@leodriscoll2929

John, my handbrake light a is on and there is a warning also, but its not really on!! How do it remove the warning message and brake light!! Fuse??? It came back that way from the horrible dealer I'm forced to use when I have maintenance that I don't want to deal with!! They are horrible and costly!! $1200 for an oil and transmission oil change! Ridiculous!!

I will see if I can show it on a video Ronald. Our unusual handbrake levers make it hard to explain in text, but it will just be an issue with a pinched wire, sticky switch or needing adjustment. 👍. Dont hold your breath though. Im a bit busy at the moment.

@@ToTheGarage Hello John, I was wondering if you had an update on this issue? I have the same on my XK8, I really hope the handbrake is not on because the warning light has been on for a while and I've gone highway speeds. I got it from my dad who said the dealership said that they didn't know what the problem was but the handbrake wasn't engaged.

Hello! May I ask what that mini injector looking little part in your glove compartment is? I have the sale and was curious to find out what it was! Thank you! French Dave.

🤣 I had to re watch to work it out!
Its a bag with two new 'Tenant' fasteners in it. They are the clips that hold the tonneau cover down at the sides on a convertible.👍

Trevor Heath. You need to start dropping birthday hints and leaving eBay open in specific pages😉

@@ToTheGarage lol, nice thoughts however B/day was last month and I hate waiting lol - I'm quite positive those pages would be closed instantly anyway! I have actually bought 2 new key fobs + 2 transponder chips and 2 blank 8 tibbe keys - all from eBay. Need to have the keys cut, I know the coding method for that just need a key cutter who knows a Jag key and how to. Seen on jag forums the method to replace the incorrect 6 tibbe head that comes attached to the new fobs, shorten the stems then insert the cut 8 tibbe key instead, drill and replace the pin. Also need to insert the transponders into the FOBS and take the lot to a dealer to have them programmed all at the same time. I understand an auto electrician who knows what he's doing (and has the right software) could program the lot for me in their special menu they can access too. The keys are currently on hold as waiting for a wheel bearing, 2 x sway bar links and all 4 lower control arm bushes to arrive from the UK. Decided to buy the sway bar bushes too to as they were cheap just in case they were a tad worn...might as well while I have some of it apart I thought. I bought these parts from Rimmer Bros. Extremely good price considering a third of it was freight too. If I had bought genuine parts I would have been broke lol. Purchased a ball joint separator kit that will press the bushes out/in too. Not keen on paying an arm and 4 legs to some bloke when I'm quite sure I could do most of it myself. The only thing that may be a problem is the ABS / wheel bearing nut. Will take that to a shop to unscrew probably - have seen a youtube video (the only one I could find) where a 50mm 12 point socket fits the ABS nut nicely on an impact wrench. this video th-cam.com/video/_g81mdPvq7A/w-d-xo.html can't say I like the rough manner in which the bloke works however! Just bought 2 new tyres and had them put on the rear. Moved rears to front rims. The front left looked like a racing slick (almost lol)...yes it was a little past it's use by date!! It still handled like a dream with DSC, will be interesting to feel the difference when she's all done and an alignment has been sorted. Cheers
