Jacob, never apologize for talking a lot about something that excites you. There are a million game streamers out there if all we wanted to see was the games. We come for the two of you. Getting to hear you talk about things you are passionate about is a big part of that.
Jacob and Julia are proof that happy and healthy relationships exist in this fucked up world, and honestly...that realization and this stream were the best Christmas gifts I got this year.
I understand Jacob about 'hanger'. I had to learn what my body does to signal hunger, since I don't feel it in my stomach until it's way too late. I've also spent years learning to tell the difference between 'hunger' and 'thirst', and am only just starting to figure it out. I am 42 years old.
I am significantly younger but I struggle all the same. The human body is the Eldritch monster we all fear yet deny in futile hope of something worse. There isn't. We are the end of all things. That is to say, the human body and psyche are unnecessarily complicated and whoever designed my system specifically will understand it's creation in all of its cosmic horror!!

Hunger is a little easier to pick up on but again I often find myself not eating until I'm on the verge of hunger pangs, which isn't ideal because those make me feel too sick to eat lol
This stream has made me realize that most of the problems in my life stem from being a Jacob, deep in my soul. wanting to saunter in and unpack a single box and say good job, but I keep forcing myself to be a Julia and do it all.
In the past few months I've switched from trying to binge clean and garden to doing regular small amounts. The improvement to my house and also mental health* has been amazing. *Because before I never was good enough and it was always a big deal. Now cleaning is a small task that I always achieve and often go further than planned.
Here's a fun tip: *ALL* chocolate has a higher amount of lead in it than most foodstuffs, also cadmium. The cadmium comes from chocolate just being grown in regions with cadmium-rich soil and there's not much that can be done about that. However, you get the lead from the beans being dried and fermented on the ground, where the shells attract and pick up lead from the soil (which comes from remains of leaded gasoline and lead paint, which are a lot less banned in other regions of the world), and as the beans are mechanically broken open, the lead gets into the chocolate. Note that Swiss Miss (and also Ghiradelli) were not *absent* heavy metals, they simply were below the legal limit, whereas the other brands were found to have gone over that limit.

I am completely biased because they grew up in my hometown and got their start there but OMG! As someone who listens to a lot of older music I have no idea what Jacob was talking about for most of this but it was still really interesting. If someone is really into something, it’s always interesting to hear what they have to say, even if I’m not super into it. It’s still fun
It’s interesting to hear about how their niece acts at that age, cuz my six year old cousin with developmental disabilities acts so similarly. Like he can be very precocious, but he has the same impulse control as a two year old. I ain’t used to regular kids so it’s cool to hear other experiences :)
You talking about albums reminded me of a band I saw this past year. They were opening for another band I love (Icon for Hire) and their sound was so good. I usually buy the albums they have for sale at their merch tables but when I got to listening to it, it was a lot more sedate than I expected or really wanted. The band is Hooked Like Helen and they are fantastic live.
wet christmas.. Seattle's been snowless or near it for years (climate change has seen a MARKED shift from a blizzard in my childhood to regularly walking to school in the snow to it only lasting one random day in the winter to no snow at all). if i ever move back, genuinely gonna be wishing for a wet christmas cause i love rain
If we're talking music, I got MASSIVELY into Sleep Token this year. I'm autistic and it immediately developed into a special interest for me, I love love LOVE their entire discography. I still enjoy other bands I listened to before finding Sleep Token, but man oh man they just wormed their way into my heart as soon as I sat down and listened to them for the first time. Music is one of the ways I stim, and it just stratches that stim itch SO good. Love them silly lil guys. 💙

My best firstish album was Tool Lateralus. I unpack in spurts, where I go full Julia for a little while and then crash out for a day or three. And I also think popcorn is S-tier.
The Boxer made me cry in the best ways and was had the most amazing build up in every arc. Unholy Blood was one I read about the same time and it was epic as well. Wild how different the genres were but the stories were so well designed.

Have y'all played Unpacking? It's a relatively short game with very skillful pixel art and it's about putting all the main character's belongings away in her various houses over the years. Great environmental storytelling and I think there are some aspects of it in particular that I don't want to say in advance, but I think you'd enjoy.

As someone who listens to a lot of older music I have no idea what Jacob was talking about for most of this but it was still really interesting. If someone is really into something, it’s always interesting to hear what they have to say, even if I’m not super into it. It’s still fun

It’s interesting to hear about how their niece acts at that age, cuz my six year old cousin with developmental disabilities acts so similarly. Like he can be very precocious, but he has the same impulse control as a two year old. I ain’t used to regular kids so it’s cool to hear other experiences :)
You talking about albums reminded me of a band I saw this past year. They were opening for another band I love (Icon for Hire) and their sound was so good. I usually buy the albums they have for sale at their merch tables but when I got to listening to it, it was a lot more sedate than I expected or really wanted. The band is Hooked Like Helen and they are fantastic live.

Seattle's been snowless or near it for years (climate change has seen a MARKED shift from a blizzard in my childhood to regularly walking to school in the snow to it only lasting one random day in the winter to no snow at all). if i ever move back, genuinely gonna be wishing for a wet christmas cause i love rain
If we're talking music, I got MASSIVELY into Sleep Token this year. I'm autistic and it immediately developed into a special interest for me, I love love LOVE their entire discography. I still enjoy other bands I listened to before finding Sleep Token, but man oh man they just wormed their way into my heart as soon as I sat down and listened to them for the first time. Music is one of the ways I stim, and it just stratches that stim itch SO good. Love them silly lil guys. 💙

The Boxer made me cry in the best ways and was had the most amazing build up in every arc. Unholy Blood was one I read about the same time and it was epic as well. Wild how different the genres were but the stories were so well designed.

Great environmental storytelling and I think there are some aspects of it in particular that I don't want to say in advance, but I think you'd enjoy.
