I am in southern Wisconsin and presprouted over 400 ranunculus and 200 anemones in February. They are under grow lights in my 57 degree basement until our 6 inches of snow melts and I can get them into the ground. Regarding the anemones-- those are doubles. I ordered 50 of the St. Brigid double anemone mix last fall with my tulips from Van Engelen. My mix isn't specifically pastel as yours (according to the picture) so yours must be a double pastel mix. The double anemones are like small turtles and I put them in the soil as you did. Vigilance is very important to get the moisture correct for sprouting these large anemones. At first I thought they were rotting so I added dry soil and moved them around with my hand making sure the soil wasn't compacted. I kept pulling out sprouted ones and potting up. It is very interesting to see how the roots appear. I have 49 of the 50 in pots under the light. These were very challenging for sure but the blooms should be beautiful. I wish you luck and know how busy you are. Most of my ranunculus and anemones are ordered from flower farms because I like to support them. Fleur Farm in Vermont has really fancy ones and I treated myself. Happy gardening as the season begins!

Hi! Good to know they are doubles! I figured they were doubles or larger varieties! I didn’t specially order doubles so maybe I just got lucky and the rainbow pastel mix are doubles! Bonus!

Hi Sydney!!! Love that you started your own channel. Hey, I just watched Garden Answer, and she did a video on Ranunculus. Very helpful. Happy planting.

Seed starting is always so enjoyable. It’s just amazing what grows from a tiny seed. Hoping all goes well for you. 💖😊

I highly recommend watching Nicole Pitt's channel, Flower Hill Farm. (Her husband's name is Brad. For real.)
She's a flower farmer in upstate New York. I believe her growing method is different than yours. She had her grandpa helping her. He's so sweet. She's a hoot and very busy. In addition to her farming business she recently bought a nursery that dates back to 1894! Her family is helping fix it up.

I tried using seeds this year and I pre soaked my sweet peas. They got leggy even though I had them under a light. I don’t think it was a LED light though. They got about 3/4 inches long. I just planted them outside. I’m hoping that they will grow 😂Don’t know if I will ever try that again. I might just throw seeds in the ground and if they come up great if not well I’ll just go buy plants 😂😂😂

Zinnias are my favorite. Any flowers thst I can direct sow is a win win for me. I always thought a greenhouse would be perfect where the kitchen garden was and then all your cut flowers like a cottage garden. Where were you filming? I couldn't tell which room you were in?

Just wondering if you repurposed/reused the Boxwoods removed when you dismantled Potager?
