The talent you have to have to accurately describe a Jonathan Hickman book by itself without describing every other Hickman marvel book ever and actually making sense and under an hour is astonishing

Sounds like you are the right person to ask. I really want to find out if I should read this before avengers/new Avengers, or after it and then Secret wars 2015? I can't seem to find the answer. Please help
@@Daveyboy_GolfR late reply here, but Infinity is the event comic from the middle of Hickman’s avengers/new avengers, and secret wars is the event from the end. If you Google Hickman avengers reading order you can get a decently sensical order to just read the trades. It’s a fat run but it is EPIC, can’t recommend it enough

I like how when Tiff tells a story she always tries to preserve story structure, but Sal is always like yeah he dies then comes back , you weren't supposed to know he had a horcrux weapon but fuck it
I loved Hickman's run through the Avengers books, but while I read the Infinity event, it occurred to me that Hickman was making the Builders basically be editorial and how the creations must bow to the creators and Hickman, through the Avengers, says NO! The creations are bigger than the creators and will continue to live on. The stories in this universe are not the creative teams' but the readers'! The Builders decide it is time to destroy the universe to save it, but Hickman says that won't do. The universe will fight back and it will win. It felt like Hickman just told the powers that be that they need to stop trying to control the direction of the universe and just let it be. That was what I interpreted from it, which is weird because I don't usually dig that deep into works. Anyone else feel this way?

Every time I hear the piano intro I get all warm an nostalgic, Ive been watching since I was 14, and this is still one of my favorite TH-cam video series to date, throughout the years the backdrop has changed, but you guys have been consistently silly and fun, keep up the good work comic pop.
I don't know, I always saw the builders as a race that has only created SOME of the worlds, not Earth... If you take a look at the way Gardener and Abyss acted upon arriving on Mars, it seemed like they weren't aware of Earth. At least that's the way I saw it. Celestials had a bigger influence, but the Builders came after...

The Cosmology in Infinity is truly an exercise in redundancy. We already have the Celestials and elders, so trying weave in elements of the New Universe imprint with out properly plotting things out in order to not confuse long time "in the know" reader's just muddies things up. It looked cool though.
Who wouldn't want to see Terraxia and possibly be motion capped by Josh Brolin.

I do love this event. My two Favorite Moments of Infinity are the Black Bolt and Thanos fight, and when Thor threw Mjolnir into the sun and through the Builder.

I think the comic fans in the know trust Hickman more than Marvels editorial so anything he does they're willing to run with, I know I am.
My favorite part of infinity was always the builders, kinda bummed this episode was more about thanos. Still great episode to make the day better!

Been awhile since I continued my Back Issues binge, and my god does Infinity War feel like it was an eternity ago... also, a GameStop reference in the first minute. Time means nothing.
just finished reading this book, wow a lot of characters! I loved this recap, especially how Sal paraphrases Corvus Glaive - hilarious!

Just Another Show that's fine for books like the X-Men that are political by nature, but we don't need politics shoved into a majority of books like it has been for a while now.

I'm not sure you're gripe with this story. Jonathan Hickman did what Bendis did previously but to such new levels of epic. It was a fantastic experience for readers. New stuff does not equal bad

Whoooop! I’ve been waiting forever for u guys to do this 1/2 epic 1/2 train wreck event! Hickman’s run is near perfect but he tried to jam to much into this 6-Issues event
My favorite comic run is Marvel Now!'s Thunderbolts, and they have an entire arc where the team try to capitalize on Thanos' invasion to kill some gangsters. It's one of the best tie-in comics I've ever read

I mean... you say all of this is weird and confusing at the beginning, but I started reading Avengers and New Avengers after dropping comics for a long time with "Time Runs Out" right after this and I followed it without issue and it set up Secret Wars perfect

The device used by Thanos to siphon Black Bolt's powers reminds me of the one from Monsters Inc.

I know JOnathan Hickman is Marvel's golden boy and all, and hell I've read and LOVE East of West, but I don't dig the builders... the whole rewriting of marvel cosmology isn't that good but i know i know, i'm the outlier on this one. I like the Celestials and their creating of the Elves, Orcs and *cough* *cough* I mean Eternals, Deviants, and all that jazz

I’m seriously just here to see how in the fuck Sal keeps this within an hour. This event is right in the middle of Hickman’s obscenely convoluted (but obscenely awesome) Avengers run, with so much insane shit happening before AND after. It was one of Hickman’s “I’m just kinda redoing your whole universe” runs. So to me, it’d take serious skill and restraint to cover only Infinity, in an hour, with it making ANY sense. I think Sal has that skill

"Everything dies" is a repeated line in the Avengers comics due to the incursions. The builder who died said that because they were going to destroy Earth and stop the incursions, so upon his death and failure he claimed "everything dies" now.
They should hook up Black Bolt to the "Evil Morty" matrix machine that has side pokiey things. When you guys said that I immediately conjured that image lol
this is the last really good event Marvel had. there's a good amount from it in Avengers Infinity War the movie especially the Black Order
I always assumed the Builders believed they created life in the universe in the same way that many religions say the universe was created for humans. They're wrong but it's what they believe is true.
Everyone may have been on board with the whole builders thing, but nobody has touched them since then, so....

You guys should do ComicPop Plays as a lets play channel or bring it back on this channel. I know Tif did it a couple times but those were one offs, I'd love to see you guys do an episodic format where you play through the whole game. You guys have good chemistry and I think that'd it'd work well as a Let's Play.
