KIMYOKITTEN They technically do, they're called loot boxes. At least in Japan you have a chance of getting something good, I wouldn't touch one if it was in the US.

Go to some anime conventions! They have mystery boxes all the time ;) now that I’ve been going to the same con for a few years I know which ones to buy from (particularly a cute little stationary shop) but they’re still pretty fun~
Be careful though. Even the ones that claim to be family friendly may not end well. I’ve gotten a few things that were not very age appropriate for me o////o (I was 12 when I started going to conventions, haha).

Okay wow the one with the figure was a real lucky one! because you paid like, what $3? and most figures cost around 20 + dollars so that's was a real catch! and it seems in a really good condition and quality and like you said it's brand new so... that was a lucky one!
Do you buy figures from stores and stuff? Because I never saw you actually buying one and most of the one you were showing where Sailor Moon and Shoujo stuff, I have no idea like one piece! Can you buy Shonen figures and Shoujo figures in the same stores?

i think that was the overall point of the machine. most of the things in the capsules were things that linger in the dark areas (bugs, spiders, etc) or things that are dark in theme (like the finger ). But you can also find good things in the dark. i actually appreciate the fact that it was thematic stuff in the capsules even if the "prizes" sucked

My impression of Japan has always been, it's a child's version of what it's like to be an adult. They are very "playful" in their commerce; always appreciated that.

Those Gacha would EAT my money if I lived in Japan. I have a VERY addictive personality, and have to stay away from lotto tickets, slot machines and casinos because I know my limitations. But even watching this I was thinking “one more, get one more” it’s the “but maybe the next ones the winner” that’s the danger in me.

You are actually REALLY lucky if that finger is what I think it is. I have one that looks just like it and it cost me $10. It’s for a magic trick. There is a red led inside so that when u pinch your fingers together, it lights up. With 2, you can do a light juggling trick. You should look it up!

The 'finger' you got is actually a thumb. It's a majician's prop, used for a few tricks. I have one myself and freak people out with the trick where you put a lit cigarette out in your hand, and the cigarette disappears.

If you've ever been to WonderGoo, they usually have these. The prizes there are usually Yugioh cards or something like that.

I have never gotten fun stuff like they did (what I mean is here the best prize was a ball and in the states as a kid a camera with a role of film about the size of two thumbs length wise and about half the size of ones pointing finger in width, never was lucky to win it although met some one who was) I think the fact they try to keep you expecting to get actual garbage or something simply gross is why when you do see your prize you are actually surprised in a positive way.

The little "pog" is a Yokai Watch disk. My 7 yr old is obsessed with Yokai Watch and she has one. You slide them inside the watch and they say the Yokai's name and play music and stuff
