Heartless Hidetsugu was my first mono-red EDH deck, because I had a hidetsugu deck back in the kitchen table days. Ran overblaze and second rite too. In my EDH deck, I use haste enablers (tuktuk rubblefort op), and threaten effects to untap him multiple times. I run every lifelink equipment to survive. Also pariahs shield, but that’s expensive to cast. Brass squire and magnetic theft for instant speed equip, pyroblast and REB, plus target changing spells to protecc. Don’t skimp on that ramp, because he is definitely an instakill.

I have been trying to sus out how this ruling works, if HH is equipped with a life link equipment, And dies with his ability on the stack, does it see the life link still or not?
When a card is nolonger on the field when it's ability resolves then you use its last known state for the purpose of the effect. It would be more beneficial for your opponents to leave it and destroy the lifelink card than to have him die. So deffenitly kill him yourself at the top of the stack so they cannot remove the lifelink from him.
Tribal Shamans are a thing. Lol Equip Heartless with Illusionist Bracers and go. Lol Great video sir. Sidenote: how would Eye of the Storm interact with Kalamax??
So a few ways (I think, this is just what I'm getting from reading the cards) - if you cast an instant and Kalamax is tapped, you would get a copy of that instant, but the original card would get exiled into the storm and start the process, but you would still get that copy from Kalamax. - if you cast a sorcery, and Kalamax is tapped, he won't trigger because he only cares about instants, but eye of the storm would trigger, and the sorcery would get exiled, and you get your eye of the storm copies. But since you CAST those copies, the first instant copy you cast (the first one you put on the stack) would copy from Kalamax, so you would get two copies of that instant one from Kalamax, one from Storm.
I run a mono red slug deck with Hidetsugu as the commander but it can function with Neheb or Torbran at the head as well. I have yet to do it but theoretically I can make my opponents roll off and choose my commander. *evil laugh*

Great video my man. I didnt realize Hidetsugu was a legendary until now! Dont know how I missed that.
Don't worry, I didn't realize for a while either, but now he can be your commander ;)
Oh yes. I used to combo it with Overblaze back in day... using the Kamigawa block. Good old days and good video dear King.

He's one of the best pieces in my neheb deck 60 free red Mana for tapping a creature is super broken
I was gonna mention Neheb in the video, but decided not too! Very good interaction between those two!
@@KingofJank he makes burn spells of viable Play Type in Commander which I love
Thats a great way to use him, I always just thought of creature based damage.
I always put infect on hidetsugu via that equipment to make absolutely certain to get the table kill
Running a Rakdos deck with Xantcha, this seems like the kind of card I could use to make my opponents hate me even more, which is exactly what I want
Xantcha looks like a fun build. I would build her, if I didn't already have a rakdos Mogis deck.
My favorite commander of all time. He is also possible to get a turn one win with albeit rarely. Although I regularly win with hin by turn 3-5
I can't believe my love for CNS and my 5 color untap synergy deck hasn't put this on my radar yet...
5c untap synergy...now thats a deck I want to see.
