Yeah, plus by the time this was introduced and the old logo with the 1990-inspired logo was retired, the 1997 was already almost 10 years into its life. (I know there was a 1997-inspired logo in 1998 but it was basically just the end of the 1997 logo with a different byline.)
I agree Brody Collins how if they don't put the current 2012 Universal Pictures fanfare because 2012 is the same year when Universal Pictures turned 100!
#1 - I never knew they made a new Curious George movie recently #2 - Why is Universal lazy enough to still not have this logo updated. It took forever for them to update the Universal Cartoon Studios logo into this, and now it’s taking forever for them to do it again. Maybe there’s a bit of a pattern here.
Seen on the rest of the sequels for The Land Before Time, as well as the series, Curious George (all six of them and the series, but as a still logo), All I Want For Christmas Is You (although the logo did not appear on the film itself), The Little Engine That Could (same as AIWFCIY), and Woody Woodpecker (once again, did not appear on the film itself).
I’m pretty sure this company is just eventually gonna get shut down or folded into Illumination since Universal pretty much stopped caring about this company ever since the success of Illumination
Why can’t the executives who run Universal Animation studios get serious and take quality for animated films as seriously as people think Disney used to prior to sometime later in the 21st century and make better quality animated films? Why do most of the land before time films, the first 2 Balto films, and the first 2 American tail films have to be among the only good ones from that studio (those are most of the only ones, same with Balto 3, and the land before time 11, 13, & 14, that I watched from that studio)?
Just Why Universal, Although this logo was of those logos I saw a lot during my childhood, Why can’t you update staring with Curious George 3 back in 2015?
Universal relies so much on Illumination and DreamWorks that they don’t even pay attention to their own animation studio anymore, they didn’t even bother updating its fanfare and logo. If their not gonna put much use to it, they should shut it down.

Honestly, I don't blame them. It's iconic af.
Except for that airplane character.
Maybe they decided not to use a version with the current universal logo
i cool tho
I mean ngl, I was kinda expecting this. They did the same thing with the 90s logo. They kept using that one til 2006.
well, they’re rolling out a new logo but we might still see this
The fact that they still use this is not nearly as unbelivable as Warner Bros. still using that same VHS quality warning screen after movies on DVD.
They alsu used the old universal cartoon studios fanfare from the 90s until 2007
I hope that Universal still uses this logo in their Illumination Films.

Universal Animation Studios really needs to update their logo. It’s been in use since 2006.

True. In 2020, this logo looks dated as heck.

@Sonic Da Man I know, but it would kinda make sense if they made a new version of this logo with the current Universal logo instead of the 1997 one
@Sonic Da Man Understandable, if they replaced it with a normal universal logo then that would be really lazy
