This is a full video of Phish's 2nd set at UIC Pavilion in Chicago on August 15th 2011...
This set is known as "The Element Set"
This upload is a compilation of fan shot videos along with the LP SBD for Audio.
This set has everything. Flawless thought out segues, Mike bass bombs, Trey shredding, Page on the Theremin......and MTV's Dan Cortese.
Glad you dig'd it bro!
Fun fact, alumni blues was only played at this show because right as Reba ended, a green ball with "Alumni Blues" hit Trey on stage
He mentions it before starting, "that ball made it up here just in time"
Was 10th row center for the 1st set. My 1st Alumni! Still one of my favorite shows. Best wolfmans ever!! imho
Does anyone else remember when someone fell from the top level during Waves>Undermind? I do...
This was one to remember.. Thank you for this video.
Witnessed something like that in 00 in albany. Person was there then they wernt
On its way to my favourite set ever. Thanks for sharing!
excellent set, nice job with the upload Chalmers
Thank you SuperNintendo Chalmers! Fantastic show. 2011 had some great Waves.
yes it did! superball waves and this one are my favs.
easily the best all around set of 3.0
Sand 0:07
Light 12:00
Dirt 22:19
Waves 26:50
Undermind 38:15
Steam 52:10
Fire 1:00:16
Dirt at 22:22,coincidence or not, totally slayed by to an explanation point. Op was right on IMO about top 5 or damn near since their hiatus.
@48:30 one of the most special space jams ever
Waves really stands out. It sounds like it's going to drift out then comes back beautifully and then Fish just totally slides in to Undermind 38:15.
48:40
8/15/11 will forever be the closest I will ever get to god. That little run Trey goes on a few mins into waves at 29:55 is pure bliss.
Set 1: Back on the Train > Rift > Guelah Papyrus, Scent of a Mule, Jesus Just Left Chicago, Wolfman's Brother, Anything But Me, Babylon Baby[1], Reba, Alumni Blues > Letter to Jimmy Page > Alumni Blues
Set 2: Sand > Light > Dirt > Waves -> Undermind[2] -> Steam > Fire
Encore: Camel Walk, Guyute, The Horse > Silent in the Morning, Harry Hood
[1] Phish debut.
[2] Page on theremin.
One of the best sets i ever saw
lmfao this shit is great, thanks again mr chalmers
cool concept!!!
29:52 is pretty wild
the whole night was wild.....it's easily in the top 5 best shows they've played since their return in 2009....
SNES Chalmers Thanks for sharing this. I still consider the N3 of that UIC run to be the best Phish show I ever saw (yet). They were just on fire that week in Chicago!
UIC in 98 was a blast. Never seen so many hippies and cops hugging. 2nd night was my favorite.
It was an amazing run....
I have the whole weekend on video if anyone is interested....
@@sneschalmers3327 hey man - if you're able to upload this anywhere i'd happily grab it
fucking wow
I miss when you could actually hear Page
58:20 Troy unloads massive globs onto the crowd
Fuckin A! 58:31- 58:43 moved me to tears. Intense energy coiled up and simultaneously released. Without a doubt my favorite STEAM. Wow!
Too bad they didn’t play plasma or mercury during this set instead of undermind
45:30
hot Sand
Fantastic ...They need to ditch the 2016 video screen light gimmick and get back to basics...CK5 knows...be yourself!
Oh, I see they made up for the Back on the Train opener.
sounds like you weren't there douche.
masterfuol7 sounds like you care homeopathy,
that BOTT opener was fooking ridiculous!
i was 10th row on the floor for this show....the place was exploding with energy the whole night!
Why referred to as the Element Set?
Frank Giglio ...check out the setlist... all song titles are elements in some way or form...
Oops, I was looking at set one.. Got it, Boom!
Frank Giglio ...all good man... have a gr8 day!
Stoked to give this one a listen. I jumped out of the game from 10-12, so looking forward to cranking this show. Cheers
It's a stoner misnomer tho, as "sand" is not an element in and of itself (rather it's made up of elements), while "light" isn't made up of elements at all, being both a wave and a particle.
