Sold my GLI 3 months back and bought Yaris ATIV CVT within one week after selling. Yaris is far btr. Driven from Isb to Qta. Far btr road grip than GLI. Jis ne Abhi tk real m Yaris dkhi bhi nhi wo expert opinion d rha h.
For what price
In terms of looks Corolla is 10 time better

I agree with you that market has rejected YARIS due to its exterior looks.
In my opinion Gli corolla is far superior as a car due to the following reasons;
1. engine is more tough
2. The over all look and road presence of GLI is far better than that of yaris. Even GLI Length is more
3. GLI is a compact sedan whereas yaria is a sub-compact sedan.
4. Back knee room is more
5. Cabin is more open
6. Gli has an arm rest
7. The back lights are more pretty
8. Yaris doesn't have alarm button in the key
9. Gli corolla trunk opening is much bigger
10. Cup holders' placement is so wierd and off. If car is in Parking gear u can not easily pick up a cold can or a hot cup of coffee.
Why would any one buy a yaris over a gli !! What do you think?

I just took delivery of my brand new GLI A/T on 14/07/2020.
Yaris ko itna pasand nahi kia gia. So GLI aur XLI pey oonn (premium) chal raha hai. Mujhay yeah gaari 3 million ki pari hai. However no regrets. Much better and spacious than yaris.
And not under powered at all for city driving. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Yaris is better in terms of Option and in my opinion in terms of appropriate body weight. Also Yaris looks very attractive in looks if we talk about Silver or Grey colour but i agree its not that attractive in white
