- In today's episode we answer questions that most of you asked. Follow our journey as we build our homestead from ground up by subscribing and sharing with like minded people.
How we got here:
We are Mackenzie and Amara and 3 years ago we decided to leave the city life behind , moved into the Kenyan savannah bushlands, built an tiny Aframe house and are embarking on a journey to live an off-grid, self sustaining lifestyle. Join us as we do it all from making our bathroom from scratch, to finishing our AFRAME tiny, to gardening and taking care of our dogs and chicken!

Kudos to camera man he's doing amazing director role in the background great vlog as always keep it up 👍
Thank you so much 😁
You answered the questions in a humble, honest and with dignity. Some day maybe I'll get the courage to share our offgrid quest from europe to mombasa and now in the village.
For sure.we would love to see your progress
I like the fact that you acknowledge you moved into the wildilfe's territory coz most pple offgrid just want to put up electric fence etc to chase them away claiming the animals are 'tresspassing'
Yup. The animals have to be priority as we are the invaders
This is a beautiful vlog. Keep the mystery around Mr. Man, it's nice.
For sure 💯

You are living my life !! I have always wanted to live off the grid . I'm so glad I found your channel . I can't wait to actually do it in ten years give or take .
Go for it!
It's so refreshing to hear you speak ♥️
We also have one of our homesteads in a savannah in South Africa. We planted plants that can repel snakes around the house. The plants are also indigenous, such as lemongrass, rosemary, lavender, and other's that don't have english names.
We have strategically planted them around the fencing, by the chicken coop and close to the entrances to the house and windows
We have all those plants.. they do not work here. What people do is just assume without really living in such remote places and without a clue....
@@L.I.K that's good know, they are really great plants. Btw I wasn't assuming anything, I was just sharing my experience as a homesteader myself. My apologies if this came through as unsolicited advice or assumption. Was just sharing and engaging.
Chicken can also help with snakes... they eat them
Its great to hear that you actually have a voice. I have been watching but now this Rastaman has subbed. I admire that lifestyle , and the simplicty of it all. Poa sana
Thanks for subbing
Enjoyed learning a little bit ore about you and yes, I agree with your sweetheart for not showing his face; not everyone needs to be a celebrity HAHAHA....Keep showing us how great an off-grid life can be; hugs!

Well done!
A lot of people don't know that "co-existing" is a thing. We can exist amongst other plants, animal, and people.
For sure 💯
you had me at the food// Keep up the good work and big shout out to the cat
Thanks! Will do!
Great people have great ideas, beautiful and amazing.
We agree! Thank you

Your videos inspire me alot to get a an of grid house.
It's soo very refreshing to live away from civilisation. 😊
Wow that was nice to hear your voice
☺️💕😁
For snakes on top of chain link you can add some wire mesh
There's that small wire mesh snakes can't go through
I have it being used on free range poultry farm
You will thank me later
Kuku mesh
An off-grid set-up allows you to build your home wherever you want… no matter if any man has set foot in the area before or not,and that’s the main benefit: independence...... Keep it up 👍
For sure 💯
TH-cam is clearly a sustainable venture!
12:36 !!!!!
We want to see him...........
Awesome FAQ Vlog
😂😂😂😂
Quite inspiring...
So beautiful. So articulate
Thank you so much!
Juba we are enjoying watching
Lovely! 💕💕💕
love everything about you gal. that is the life of my dreams😘
Thanks!
I'd love to do this! Though I'd personally prefer somewhere that isn't as dry. Have my own garden and stuff. Looks like you're in a desert!
We love this environment as is as it gives us everything.. soil is very fertile... When u have water u are good to go... We definitely HATE overpopulated places that most people run to get... Much more serenity here for sure 🤗
Very satisfying videos💕💕
Thanks! 💕
I just love your life gal
Thanks! 💕
Your cooking skills on top,,, nialike lunch siku mmoja
One day maybe...😁

Glad you enjoyed it
That chicken looked so yummy!
It was!
good job...for the snakes , try planting rosemary around your home...they don't like the smell of it. greate repelant
Thanks for the tip! Though we have rosemary bushes and they don't help much
@@L.I.Kget some honey badgers. Trust me, the snakes would be in for a treat 😅
Can you please capitalize Kajiado (name of your TH-cam channel). It's driving me nuts (kind of). Otherwise, the content is super! Glad I found this channel today..I love this stuff.
How a sweet voice !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🤗💕
Finally, our girl is speaking. Awesome
🤗💕
I am new to the channel all the way from South Africa. I love it already. Since Leopards are creatures of habit like most other wild life animals, the big cat took your dog for a meal, what is the plan to protect the remaining dogs and cats if it comes back for more? You just earned a subscriber.
Thank you for subbing. More lights and bigger dogs( south African mastif) will do
We love 💕 u. Atlanta Georgia
I love the response about the husband...good one.
😁♥️
I know riiight!!!
Yesss….Keep your man to yourself😅
Exactly, perfect response 👏🏿👏🏿 how you gonna ask about someone’s husband?😂
Your place is beautiful tho , keep it up
Thank you, we will
thank you for sharing. I'm wondering about security. not the animals but the two legged ones hupenda kutembelea watu na kuwaharibia amani. is this a concern where you guys are? wishing you all the best on your journey.
Martin from kiserian kajiado county 💪💪💪i love watching your contents...i wish 1day I'd meet you in person
Maybe one day!
@@L.I.K yer sure.thank you

For sure 💯
Where did you buy the material you have used to cover your pergola?
Kudos.
Thanks
Love your life
We love it too
good stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it
Favorite ❤️💯
💕💕💕
Kajiado is a semi arid desert ..water is hard to come by..boreholes are expensive unlike narok town..i understand why u named ur homestead narok house..if u know u know..love from Narok
For sure 💯
Sometimes taking people on your journey with building does make people appreciate more
Will definitely show the process once it's done for sure.... As we do the tour......
I enjoyed this QnA. Waiting patiently on room tour. And kudos to mr too hot to hundle. Great job on shooting ❤
😁💕🤗
Hii off grid yako iko dope aje ... dear Your off-grid kitchen is better than mine here in kanairo
🤩
Awesome as always
I like how the dog is trying to listen
🤗💕💕🐶
Nimesubscribe ju ya hio ending😂😂😂😂
🤗💯💯💕
My first time to see your smile 😊😊
you're such a beautiful lady❤
I suggest you plant palm trees in your compound.
Why haven't you tried planting some grass and do natural fencing?
The weather here is so severe.. planting anything is a challenge.. not as easy as many ppl think...
Palm trees and grass in kajiado?? Sigh!
Yup...
@@L.I.K I didn't know..I thought it's the same weather with rongai..I see very lush green places here.
It's one and half hours drive from rongai... Definitely different climate.....
I love your content.
For snakes get kerol and pour it around the fence every other month
We have spent alot on kerol and it definitely does not work at all.....
You should keep a cat. Or get a mongoose
@@musicmikeishbam mongoose for sure and a honey badger
We have a cat... Mongoose are wild animals...
We can't capture wild animals for ourselves ...
I like ur voice.. 🎉
How did you come across the peice of land so far from town?
Siz you can consider keeping the goose 🦆 snakes will dissapear
The cat is soo cute
We definitely concur 😻
Good Morning Beautiful 👑
Hey hey
You look like you're in your 20s...it was a shocker to hear you have a son finishing high school...
nice transitions on the video
Glad you like them!
Nice.
Thanks!
I manually dug a borehole in my village at about 5M UGX
Lovely. It's expensive here as it's rocky terrain so they will end up using alot of drill bits hence gets expensive.. had a quotation of 1.8 million shilling
My dream!!!
🤗💕
Great vlog in the bundus of Savannah. What country is that? I am South African
Kenya
plant snake plant along the fence ,helps keep snakes away
We have snake plants and have spotted snakes hanging out in them
There is snake repellent that you can use around the compound or use Plants that reppel snakes or the option of guinea fowl and ducks which are helpful
Trust me we have tried very many snake repellents.... Have plants that repel snakes but that don't work... When you are ok the ground, that's when u know that most things that u are told by people or get from the internet just don't work in other places.....
