OMG, If you're hesitating on getting a Golden doodle DON'T think twice! He was the best thing that ever happened! I literally told him "no" to wires and dangerous things ONCE when I got him at 8 weeks and he NEVER chewed on anything! I could leave him alone at about 3 months for a short period of time and he NEVER destroyed ANYTHING when I was gone. He's 2 now and still hasn't tore anything up. He was also super easy to train and I got him to use his 1st button to communicate the 1st week I had him. Now, he uses buttons to communicate several times a day

I'm getting a "Toy" size Mini Golden Doodle in early June - pups are only 2 weeks old. Perfect size for apartment living. I can't wait for the viewing day at 5 weeks - am beyond excited! I already love this pup - that I haven't even met yet! 😄

Where do you get the miniature ones. I feel like they all say it’s small just to sell them to people because I know so many people who didn’t expect a golden doodle get really big but they did!!!
Having the "intelligence of the retriever" is given as a reason for cross-breeding. Whoever wrote this script failed to realize the poodle is the 2nd most intelligent breed just behind the Border Collie. The miniature poodle was breed specifically to hunt truffles -- so for their nose. Appearance, from those who prefer the look of the retriever, over the poodle is the only reason I can see this mix might have been created.

We have a toy tan poodle that looks just like this but cuter and LOVES the water. He’s only 10 lbs. We always get asked if he’s a golden doodle! You don’t have to get a golden doodle to get these traits!!! Wish I could share a pic of him!! We only paid 800 4 months ago to boot!!

Hey that's awesome to hear. I am planning on getting one sometime soon, only thing is that the parents are worried that they might be aggressive in that they might have the tendency to rip up things, bite and nip. Is this true with ur pup?

No mine is not aggressive at all he’s very friendly. But he definitely rips things up lol he also loves to dig holes in the yard.
I wouldn’t really recommend them around small children I can only speak from experience for mine but he’s a very rough puppy with a lot of energy and a bit jumpy

We have never owned a pup before and based off of all the hypoallergenic breeds available we narrowed our option on the golden doodle. Been watching youtube videos on them but the majority just show how cute they are lol. Not much on there excitement/behavior/temperment. I am aware that pups tend to be like babies and need attention but am worried that they might be a lot to handle in terms of the "playfulness/roughness". Thought it be best to ask around and see what other's have dealt with before committing. Thanks for the insight!

My mini goldendoodle that I have is adorable. He is only a year old and his name is Teddy(nickname is Teddy Bear) since he looked so much like a teddy bear when he was a few months old.

I got a mini golden doodle, he must have come from a puppy mill or was not breed properly. He was extremely hyper, and never could get enough exercise, no matter how long we played or walked or ran. He'd take a nap and would be ready to go again. He parked excessively, and was literally "crazy", running in circles in the backyard for hours. I hate to sound so negative, but they are beautiful dogs and loving but Definitely not for everyone, all of this packaged in a 15 pound body. . Definitely a pet for a young family, with kids that play all day. My vet even agreed with me. He is now in a loving family with young kids and is happy running all day. Again, this is just my experience with my dog and I'm sure not the same for all.

My granddaughter has 2 Goldendoodles an they are a handful, she also has 3 kids, the dark grey one is not that great with the kids but the black one is very good with them. They are barkers and very active, but we love them to death!

Barb mini goldendoodles are any where from 15-35 pounds any bigger is a regular goldendoodle! and any smaller is a micro mini
It is mini as compared to a Golden Retriever and/or a Standard Poodle! LoL. 'Mini' is relative to the breed. :). All that being said, I totally agree. 50 lbs is a medium sized dog. Even 35 lbs is leaning towards medium in my opinion.

My brother just got one. We love her so much and she is a puppy 13 weeks old. She is a bit unhinged at times, but she is super smart also. I assume she is teething so that’s why she keeps biting when excited especially with those needle teeth. Yes it hurts sometimes but I’m hoping this phase won’t last much longer

My Goldendoodle is 18 mo and sheds far more than anticipated? He is 75 English retriever and 25 % mini poodle. Is this vast shedding normal and can I help stop it in some way. He gets daily combing lots of hair each brushing. Help
if im not mistaken, the poodle is the one who doesn't shed so being only 25% may have something to do with it.
JoAnne Schelwat by any chance is your Goldendoodle is a f1 or f2 because as you mentioned your dog is 75% retriever n 25% poodle to me it seems the breeder where u bought cross more retriever than poodle so u have a higher chance that your dog is going to shed if you would have done your research more deeply this breed you would have known that if you went with the f2b Goldendoodle they have more poodle in there gene so they won’t shed
JoAnne Schelwat yes it’s normal cuz it’s seem you’re Goldendoodle has more retriever than poodle so his going to shed like a retriever because of there straight coat
If you wanted a low shedding dog then you should have bought a purebred poodle, not a mutt
